Im a mechanic for Mercedes and I know for a fact that c63 was taking off like an older customer getting groceries and not like the top dominantor it is

Ran an RC-F for a year or so. Now own a C63. Tyres, rain...... I think you'll find that the RC-F is better off the line. It's torque doesn't come in until way up the rev range, so this massively assists off the line.
Does the RC feel a lot bigger exterior wise or they’re around the same size would you say?

Did you guys not get launch control on that side of the pond? The 2020 and up get launch control and do the 0 to 100 km in 3.9 sec not 4.5.

Yes, because airport runways are much more accurate to the real world… just because you didn’t see them warm tyres doesn’t mean they didn’t. Also, interestingly, Carwow had the same result as these guys
@@seanlander6936 so neither site could duplicate 3.9? ... but instead nearly 6 seconds zero to sixty... Something is amiss here.... and the Germans do not exaggerate their performance numbers...
@@kafklatsch3198 oh the car can definitely do a 3.9, but in the perfect circumstances. Just like an F1 car can go 0-200 in around 4 seconds, but not every time. 700nm of a huge amount of torque and of the surface isn’t perfect (ie it’s a bit damp or old) it’s going to spin tyres. 3.9 is certainly possible, just tricky

@@kafklatsch3198 Actually, here's some quick math. The claimed time is 3.9 seconds 0-100km/h. Motor managed 5.7 seconds in wet and slippery conditions. That's 1.8 seconds slower than the claimed time, or about 45% slower. Nowhere near double the time as you suggested (which would be 7.8 seconds). 5.7 seconds is fast by many standards, but it's exceptional given how physics work. The rear tyres have to take 375kW and 700Nm of torque and put that to the ground. Numerous videos show the c63 having issues doing that in the dry on a prepped track. It likes to smoke it's tyres, it's not a Tesla. One would argue that in the normal world, roads gets wet thus meaning this is a real race in normal conditions.
I'd believe it were down to the tires and weather if I saw some wheelspin from the Merc.

Your review implies that the Supersport tyre is above that of the PS4S in terms of performance. However I think you'll find the PS4S beats the older Supersport in pretty much every category in any conditions.
If it were a Cup2 tyre then , yes I would understand the pointing out of tyres and conditions.
Had the c63 been equipped with the PS4S , it would be alot closer I think.
I think a rolling race and brake test would have made a nice addition to this video.
I'm a big Lexus fan but had this taken place on decent and dry pavement the Mercedes would win. Both cars ran a 13 sec 1/4 mile in the video which just show how bad the conditions were.

I'm an RCF owner and I do agree this is suspect. But the way other Channels flat out Troll the RCF....this makes things even. Plus I've beaten C63's rolling and they've beaten me from digs. You win some you lose some.

Don't hate, haters. Carwow did a similar test, and got similar results. The RCF smoked the competition from a dig and then got eaten up from a lack of power and torque. C63 has no chance of launching well in the wet.
I was going to write that the confrontation between turbo vs NA is nonsense.
However, I am confused because the result is opposite to my expectation.

a roll race would've given you a more accurate result. From the dig on that surface it was only going to go with the car with significantly less torque and less power. Does really prove much. End of the day the C63 is still faster. Carwow does a better video

I'm surprised those 4s' gripped so well in the wet. Dry it would have been a different outcome but still makes you realize what a difference tires make.

@Nathan De Pasquale Unfortunately the day we filmed these races the rain simply made it too dangerous to attempt a roll race on such a short track (track is only half mile) but hopefully our next filming day is dry!

All these MB fans complaining. C63S is heavy (heavier than the regular c63 which is already heavy). C63S is close to 4,200lbs. RCF is 3,902lbs.

Love AMG but their cars get beat regularly in these type of contest. So you have to wonder do they care about their history of world class performance anymore?
Well these dude’s have no fuckin launch skill and in the S they can adjust launch for wet. So I think if they had a single brain cell that’d put it in wet and it’d be able to understand why it’s not putting the power down. Also journalist don’t know about easing into it 😂
I mean the amg does have launch control which was clearly not engaged, the rpm's never went up at all before he left, and honestly he probably never gave it more than 1/4 throttle off the line

The C63s has something called TQ that’s why. The RCF engine sounds good but it’s outperformed by nearly everything in its class sadly.

Worst race attempt I've seen on TH-cam. These guys decided to do a drag race on a damp gravel road. Horrible decision. I wish I could take my view back.

@@a-veteranlandscapesitework2413 yeah no that’s definitely not what happened. They’re in Melbourne and basically every day between April and October is a wet day. There was no malice here, simply a real world test and the Lexus was better.

However, in the dry you’re spot on, the Merc would be easily 1.5 seconds faster

The RCF is so uncompetitive. Definetly going with the Mercedes. Just look at how much better the interior is on the Mercedes. That said, swap drivers and the Merc would win.
I like 'em both, but I'd probably go with the Lexus. I think it looks meaner and, having driven both, the interior fit and material quality isn't far apart - so for me, it's just a matter of which you prefer the design of. And while I don't love Lexus's infotainment, I'm not a huge MBUX fan, so that's much of a muchness. 🤷♂️
Rcf is a boat, its insane how it the Benz lost with awd and more power. Its two things, shitty driver in the benz and they purposely started the benz in a wet puddle.
