The black costume makes it look like they’re copying Spider-Man’s symbiote costume during Secret Wars. (Before you attack me, the Symbiote costume came out in the 80s while Supes black costume came out in the 90s)
I liked the motherbox costume as a story feature, showing Superman's fear of Doomsday, I'm just not keen on the look of it. And I've always loved the recovery suit when he came back, the silver detailing and all.

I wasn't aware that Nomura did a line of figures (I've only ever seen the Batman one). I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts and TWEWY fan and for me Nomura's style tends to walk the line between appealing and frustrating. For instance, I will never not hate Donald Duck's zipper hat but I really like his take on Goofy's outfit. I really don't like his superhero designs though as I feel his style is the antithesis of a good superhero outfit (especially DC heroes). Namely simple and striking. I pretty much agree with everything you said on the Superman figure and I can't stand the Batman one.
Only just finished reading Superman's Metropolis yesterday! Got Nosferatu and Blue Amazon to get through next. I Iiked the costume, but I agree on the two-tone remark. I don't see why they couldn't have kept the back completely blue. Surprised the Injustice costume isn't on this...
The black post-death of Superman one, I've always liked. I never really like Supes too much, and his unchanged costume pissed me off. I was glad he died, and I knew DC was gonna renege on it, but I was happy he came back as a "different" Superman, to piss of fans. I don't understand superhero costumes, with all the color, and the minimalistic black makes way more sense. Oh and that Metropolis thing looks awesome. Ill have to check it out.
heavily agree removing the trunks was a natural and necessary evolution of the suit with the times, I think people are insane for wanting them back after the new 52 got rid of them
michael deering the new 52 only had Superman without the red trunks because of Flashpoint Superman wearing red trunks, and after Rebirth retconing Flashpoint by making Dr.Manhattan causing Flashpoint and not the Flash it made more sense to bring back the red trunks anyways.

i like the Black suit because in lore He wore that because Black colors are more fast to absorb Sunlight,something he needed because he was in a life support and If he wore other colors he would probably die or come back alot later

I'm actually rather fond of the first power armour you highlighted. I mean I'd lose the fake muscles and make the gauntlets bigger and heavier but I think it fits the story. The fishbowl helmet sort of makes sense if you assume he's trying to keep Kryptonite out (sort of like the radiation suit in All Star Superman) and the bulkier armour works to make it look a bit more like the armour could actually let superman punch as hard as he normally does... That said most of the others in this just frustrate me. When did he have time to carve those cheek bones into the armour! Wasn't there something better he could do with the time?
while I do share many, if not most, of your criticisms of the Mother Box/anti-Doomsday suit, back in the 90s when it first came out I loved it. I also loved Rob Liefeld back then, so I've learned that 90s me wasn't the best judge of things like this.
I do like a black and red justice leauge toy repaint. It looks like a variant of the recovery suit the cape and red make it look recognizable as superman.

To Summarize;the Krimson Kryptonite,Superman Unchained & DK3: The Master Race. Superman's costume changes were pitiful & clunky. The New 52 superman costumes are superior.
The red trunks, yes, are reminiscent of circus strongmen uniforms. Trunks are also used by acrobats, trapeze artists, and dancers. They serve a simple purpose. You see the people in these professions all wear tights. And the trunks provide an extra layer of clothing specifically to conceal the junk that the tights accentuate. I don't know why so many comic fans want to see the outline of Superman's super-dick, or want him to look like a freaking Ken doll, but ...
Aside from the classic suit, my favourite Superman costumes, starting from the best, are the "reborn" costume and the BvS costume. These two should be mainstays for me. Honorable mentions: - I like the CW Superman costume. But It looks too plastic on some spots;- The New 52 had the merit of being the first to remove the trousers in the mainstream continuity. But the excessive piping and the high collar were major turn-offs for me; - The costume that the Superman from the "standard timeline" uses in the 1st Injustice game - and the first/default Super-suit you wear in Injustice 2 - is very close to perfection for me. Almost as good as the Reborn suit; - The "Rebirth" suit was good, and I really liked the shade of dark blue. But the lack of boots and the absence of a color break in the belt were setbacks that were ultimately solved by the Reborn suit. - The Man of Steel suit was very good and groundbreaking, but it was overall corrected in BvS; in turn the Justice League one felt like a step back, because its production value was lower. Too colorful, too bright in wrong spots, and too obviously padded. The BvS one was more subtle.
I actually unironically love Old Man 57-Guns-In-One Superman. Its so fucking absurd that its looped back to being awesome for me. Like, fuck yea its Superman he can lift anything why not carry around a giant gun. Or 10. Or 50. Or fuck it lets just strap some fucking tank barrels to you and call it a day. Its stupid but fantastic too lol
I actually liked the hunter/prey uniform. I had the toys as well,lol. Has for his black & sliver one. I liked that one to intill the redesigned it. Then like you I prefer that one over the original. I remember when he threw it on in the Louis & Clark TV series. Funny how it came full circle in the Louis & Clark comic. I like the superman blue look as well. Would have prefer it as an else world story instead of main earth.

I actually really love the super corny darkseid rematch suit. It's really fun and corny... Plus the artist that was drawing those issues is really really good. I feel like those issues are underrated. They're so fun. How it explains that the armor scales up his size to be that of a whole universe, just like the rest of the new gods are. Superman vs alien is great too. In my opinion in the 1990s there was a massive flood of garbage comics, yet superman during this period surprising is pretty good and fun without being way too dark. Also dark horse comics from the 90s where amazing. It's the hay day for Hellboy, the mask, concrete, the alien and predator comics, and not to mention all the manga they translated and formated into English for the first time. Plus since I lived in Portland Oregon in the 90s I got to go shop at the dark horse comics book shop called things from another world... Place was the shit. Best selection of Gundam models and Warhammer. They even would post 7year old me's sketches in the back of their comics. They had the coolest English dubs of the best anime that you just couldn't find.... The place wast decorated with awesome completed and painted Gundam and Warhammer models and models of just about any kind including star wars and star trek all of which where on display or hanging from the ceiling. Place was straight up magical for little me. I still have really good dreams about being dropped off there by my dad while he worked out next door and I would just be in there for hours. If I was really lucky he would by me a few things. Man do I miss that place. Sad to see it go. Like really sad.

Wrong. What got rid of the super-mullet was Supes marriage to Lois. There is a panel in the wedding issue were Clark says that he cut his hair for this important day, and that happened a few months before the transformation into electric blue happened.
I could see superman wearing power armor/ armored suit when fighting villains such as parasyte or metallo's kryotonite powers, also funnily enough in star wars lore the first lightsaber had a external battery pack with a cable connected to the sword so it's kinda funny that one of superman's costume would use a similar concept.
Sean McGee I remember seeing this power armor Superman at Superman the escape at six flags magic mountain, when I was a kid. Also, I liked this kind of suit.

Gladiatorial garb isn't great, but it's not complete nonsense when you consider it's influence, something that's consistent with the Apokolips motif.

I actually really love the super corny darkseid rematch suit. It's really fun and corny... Plus the artist that was drawing those issues is really really good. I feel like those issues are underrated. They're so fun. How it explains that the armor scales up his size to be that of a whole universe, just like the rest of the new gods are. Superman vs alien is great too. In my opinion in the 1990s there was a massive flood of garbage comics, yet superman during this period surprising is pretty good and fun without being way too dark. Also dark horse comics from the 90s where amazing. It's the hay day for Hellboy, the mask, concrete, the alien and predator comics, and not to mention all the manga they translated and formated into English for the first time. Plus since I lived in Portland Oregon in the 90s I got to go shop at the dark horse comics book shop called things from another world... Place was the shit. Best selection of Gundam models and Warhammer. They even would post 7year old me's sketches in the back of their comics. They had the coolest English dubs of the best anime that you just couldn't find.... The place wast decorated with awesome completed and painted Gundam and Warhammer models and models of just about any kind including star wars and star trek all of which where on display or hanging from the ceiling. Place was straight up magical for little me. I still have really good dreams about being dropped off there by my dad while he worked out next door and I would just be in there for hours. If I was really lucky he would by me a few things. Man do I miss that place. Sad to see it go. Like really sad.

Electric Blue Superman May have been a weird gimmick, but it did accomplish one thing I will always respect it for.

There is a panel in the wedding issue were Clark says that he cut his hair for this important day, and that happened a few months before the transformation into electric blue happened.
I could see superman wearing power armor/ armored suit when fighting villains such as parasyte or metallo's kryotonite powers, also funnily enough in star wars lore the first lightsaber had a external battery pack with a cable connected to the sword so it's kinda funny that one of superman's costume would use a similar concept.
Sean McGee He actually did that in The Animated Series, when Parasite absorbed his powers, and thus his weaknesses too.

Sean McGee I remember seeing this power armor Superman at Superman the escape at six flags magic mountain, when I was a kid. Also, I liked this kind of suit.
The neckcast on the BvS one is protection from another kryptonian who would try and snap his neck. XD
