(Spoilers below) The books were pretty much just Batman doing things that lead up to his new Batmobile. And the second volume just has Bane show up, before the Arkham Knight may or may not kills him. there’s a Suicide squad vs. Batman fight(it sucks) and a Batgirl prequal mini-story. Again, not really interesting and it doesn’t have any important lore either.

I believe that was actually a reference to "dark knight returns", because he said it "put too much strain on his heart", which might be a reference to his faking a heart attack in the exosuit in dark knight returns.
Jim Lee and Greg Capullo are by far my favorites, and Todd Mcfarlane also did a great job (as always) whenever he had a chance to draw batman. a love how Todd draw him with the giant cape with big shoulders

Always liked the more armored "practical" batsuits... but I gotta say, the Nolan suit hasn't held up for me. Especially those scenes that happen in brightly lit rooms and the daytime. On the other hand, I love the villain designs in all of those films.

Around 1998 Wizard magazine had a “design a futuristic Batman suit” contest. I and a friend made some drawings and sent them in. We never heard back from Wizard and they never announced a winner. Later on when the Batman Beyond series began the costume in the series was very much like the drawings my friend and I had designed. Yes, I feel like our ideas were hijacked.
The new 52 batsuit is my favourite suit ever with the animated series batsuit and rebirth I remember seeing it in the court of owls storyline and thinking holy hell that looks badass

The Arkham City Bat Suit is definitely my favorite! I just wish the Cape and Cowl was 100% black. Like in certain lighting it does look all black but when you get into another lighting it looks dark blue which should not be done because when you say The Dark Knight I don't picture blue.
It's an old tradition in comic books to color black things blue... Because, back in the 4-color and cheap paper days, large areas of black looked like flat splotches and bled through to the next page! This is why you'll here old jokes about Superman, Lois Lane, and other black haired characters having blue hair. Basically, Batman's outfit was always supposed to be black and gray. (At least after Finger nixed Kane's original red design.)

My favorite comic suit is The Long Halloween suit, love the way it drawn, so simple, so effective. Which means I love the Arkham suit, as it follows that look. And while I like the new Affleck suit, I feel they should have use a different texture on the suit, so the Bale suits end up being my favorite movie suit.

With regards to the Flashpoint bat suit, you mentioned that Flashpoint happened because the Reverse Flash messed with the timeline. However, it wasn't Reverse Flash but rather Barry Allen, who created it by running back in time to save his mother from Reverse Flash

Being from the 90's when Spawn and angst in general were popular, it was no surprise that it came out looking like that. I'm assuming that Todd McFarlane was involved somehow (even unaccredited), because it definitely carries heavy influence, like borderline blatant.

I'm a fan of Spawn, so seeing those influences transferred to another of my favorite superheroes was great. For some reason, I just can't take the Dark Knight Trilogy batsuit seriously. It's probably because I've seen way too many parodies of Christian Bale's Batman performance that it keeps reminding me of them every time I see someone in the suit.
This is a great nerd debate question, but that's it, because we'll never be going back to pre-52, whether you like it or not. Personally, I'm kind of on the fence, because there are things that are actually better after new 52, like Batman, Green Lantern, and Flash (with the first two actually the ones that changed the least of any of the DC comics). But then there are things like Batgirl, Wonder Woman that changed too much and a huge bunch of complete failures like Blue Beetle, Mr. Terrific and lots of others that they just totally screwed up that were much better pre-52. Kind of depends which characters are your favorite.

With regards to the Flashpoint bat suit, you mentioned that Flashpoint happened because the Reverse Flash messed with the timeline. However, it wasn't Reverse Flash but rather Barry Allen, who created it by running back in time to save his mother from Reverse Flash

Being from the 90's when Spawn and angst in general were popular, it was no surprise that it came out looking like that. I'm assuming that Todd McFarlane was involved somehow (even unaccredited), because it definitely carries heavy influence, like borderline blatant.

I'm a fan of Spawn, so seeing those influences transferred to another of my favorite superheroes was great. Also, let's not forget that Onslaught (another BA villain that should be in a movie) first appeared in the 90's, and we all know where I'm going with this...

For some reason, I just can't take the Dark Knight Trilogy batsuit seriously. It's probably because I've seen way too many parodies of Christian Bale's Batman performance that it keeps reminding me of them every time I see someone in the suit.

This is a great nerd debate question, but that's it, because we'll never be going back to pre-52, whether you like it or not. Personally, I'm kind of on the fence, because there are things that are actually better after new 52, like Batman, Green Lantern, and Flash (with the first two actually the ones that changed the least of any of the DC comics). But then there are things like Batgirl, Wonder Woman that changed too much and a huge bunch of complete failures like Blue Beetle, Mr. Terrific and lots of others that they just totally screwed up that were much better pre-52. Kind of depends which characters are your favorite.
