  • Delicious peas with bacon, onion and lettuce.
Prepared this way it`s a great quick mid-week dinner solution.
This classic preparation has been around for hundreds of years, and for good reason too - its perfect in every way!!
Try serving this with a roasted chicken or even a grilled pork chop.

Great use of the expression "À la française" for showing my French class. (You do pronounce the "S" on the end, like a "Z" sound.)

I made this on the weekend and it was easy and spectacular. Went very nicely with my slow cooked lamb!

I made chicken schnitzel with home made chicken gravy added Hungarian peparkia accompanied with garlic mashed potatoes and those braised peas. It was an absolute effing hit.

The only advice I can add is to taste before adding salt, depending on how much bacon you use and how salty it is you may not actually need to add any salt at all. I use pancetta and only need to season with black pepper.

Fabian this is sound advice! It certainly does depend on the ingredients we use and, definitely will add salt with caution unless you’re familiar with the products.
Mine was a hot smoked cured pork belly - chosen for its delicious fat content and flavour, but not its salt so much.
