    • @PaulDaFox
      @PaulDaFox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey RodG, thanks for watching! I don't have a write up per say as I've just done off the top of my head but it's pretty straight forward which I will try to quickly summarize for you as follows: unplug sensor, remove it from lower intake, install brass fitting nut on lower intake, you should have enough wire to extend the sensor to your intake pipe, install preferably between mass air and throttle body (although I have seen some install directly into the stock foxbdoy airbox) and don't to forget to bump timing. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!! 👍🏁

    im sure the quad shocks are there for a reason why remove then why not replace them...just sayin not all of us are draging/racing our cars......

    • @PaulDaFox
      @PaulDaFox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey madmax 1970, I've been doing this mod for as long as I can remember over the years on various types of setups and by no means is it specific to drag racing. In my experience, I felt no difference, no wheel hop and had no further issues with wheel rub. I can also say that most of the foxbody guys that I know have them removed as well. That said, I do appreciate your comment and time for watching. Have a great weekend!! Thanks🏁

    • @johnmcmullen456
      @johnmcmullen456 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand the quad shocks help control unwanted axle movement brought about by the the play and flex in the flimsy factory stamped steet controls arms & their soft rubber bushings. Upgrading to aftermarket boxed or tubular arms alleviates that need. However, the arms with hard poly bushings can cause suspension binding when making tight turns like for autocross or road course events, resulting in sudden snap oversteer, but would be OK for drag racing.

    • @mysticker11
      @mysticker11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnmcmullen456 well my car is pure stock so i should leave em on i think

    • @johnmcmullen456
      @johnmcmullen456 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mysticker11 I would keep them on for a stock street car. They weigh very little and help a bit with the slop in the factory quadralink rear suspension design. Your logic is correct that the factory would not add a part if it served no purpose. Earlier fox Mustang GT's came with "slapper bars" to help dampen axle movement but the quad shocks were found to work better.

    • @PaulDaFox
      @PaulDaFox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey brother, sorry for the delay response. There wasn’t much trimming done as I would use the red eibach sportlines, no isos on all 4 corners but I did trim the fronts 1/2 a coil. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!! 👊🏼🏁

    cutting springs....very bad advice! thats the one thing someone should not cheap out on. you can get a decent set of lowering springs for really cheap for these cars. even the cheapest springs are a whole lot better than cutting a spring. you have a mustang follower base not a honda follower base...cutting springs is something a 16 year old does to his first civic right after he bolts on a 4 inch muffler tip he bought at auto zone. cmon man....LMFAO

    • @PaulDaFox
      @PaulDaFox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I disagree!....I've been trimming springs and lowering springs with no issues for 30 years now. Trimming 1 coil from the rear and 1/2 coil from the front will have marginal effect that you won't be able to feel. In addition, some of the bigger mustang channels also trim springs and so do professional shops! I would better understand your point if I was suggesting cutting the coil spring in half, but this is just a touch-up!

      @@PaulDaFox point I was making...cutting springs is not something I would recommend for someone who has no clue what they are doing. You 30 years experience and professional shops are WAY different than Chucky in his carport with a cut off wheel on his hand grinder. Also a spring coming loose from a spring compression tool can kill....again very bad advice to be giving to a novice car builder. Spend the $100 get lowering springs. Cutting springs is a hackers game.

      @@donaldrowe6047 I see where your coming from as far as the experience required but in fairness, I did preface in the video that if the viewer had never trimmed or pulled a spring then they should get someone to help them out as the fronts are a dangerous job. Even lowering springs need a little trim as well The one in the video that I trimmed was a lowering spring from my reef blue coupe. Anyhow, we’ll agree to disagree!

      @@PaulDaFox it's all good. I love your content regardless lol. And yes you did mention front springs under load could be dangerous. I also get your side of it. Having the proper knowledge of a springs primary function in a cars suspension goes a long way but I have seen some of these ricer kids that barely understand how the loud pedal works cut springs. Not good to say the least and very dangerous to others on the roadways with them in cars not properly modified.

    That’s one of the issues I will have to work around with my GT40/Explorer intake/heads. My manifold doesn’t have the flat boss area where I can drill/tap for the ACT sensor. I’ve seen a few guys actually relocating it to the hard plastic lid on the OEM air box. But that would be before the MAF which must still workout ok. So not sure if I’ll do that or try to put it between the MAF and T/body.

    • @PaulDaFox
      @PaulDaFox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Elliot, is there no room on your intake pipe between the mass air and throttle body? Otherwise, I have also seen some guys tap it right into the stock air box which seems to work fine as well. Also, don’t forget to bump your timing once you’ve relocated it. Keep me posted, would love to know where you placed it and how it worked out. Thanks for watching! 👊🏼🏁
