It's better then pulling the 2.3 and sticking in a 302 like happens often. 2.3 is a much more powerful engine with ability to make 700+ hp , while the 302 breaks in half at 415hp and is not even as reliable. Aftermarket may not have fixed the headflow issues of the 2.3 yet but tuners certainly have. Leave the bangers in the banger Stang's and save the 302 cars for engine swaps.
@@jaewhite2462 been awhile ago but I consistently hit my stock short block ( it had a main girdle ) car with a 250 shot and it lived for quite some time , when it went it was a rod , not the block . Funny you mentioned the tune above because there are many people pushing stock production blocks past the supposed limitations , because of tune , especially boosted cars. But whatever man.

I'm with you on 95% of that list, but im an old guy ,we had Foxbodys in high school,I like the look of the Dayton rims but I don't think I'll be putting them on my GT vert.

I put a body kit on my 85 hatch...it dont fit..but its on..dont want my car to be the same as everyone else's..its a poor man's fox..and when it comes time to sell it hopefully another poor man will get it cheap and into it as I did making it there own car...nice cars cost to much..thumbs up good video

I agree on the no LS swap unless you go carburetor which would be cool. Also a BigBlock Chevy swap would be nice. Big block Ford is good too but parts for the Chevy just makes it better. 632 carbureted with a dual stage progressive nitrous kit would be awesome.

Good video. Agree expect the LS swap. 190 whp from the 5.0 is not enough in 2022. Tired of getting beat by all motor Hondas civics
Thanks J and d garage, the LS will definately bring in more power and I hear ya, the 4 bangers these days are impressive! My son has a 2017 Golf R with some bolt-on mods and a tune and its impressive with the DSG tranny! That said, nothing an On3 turbo kit or V1 supercharger couldn't correct. Curious as to how you would feel about my most recent build... remember in the late 80s when ford wanted to replace the mustang with a fwd car? Well,I found a trashed out(had been on its roof) 87 mustang gt,and used the chassis(entire floor,frame rails,suspension,drive train,ect.) To build the car that ford wanted to build. I put a 92 probe gt chassis on a fox and I love it!!! Its lowered,skinny/fat combo with weld wheels,probe has a molded fiberglass body kit,painted candy tangerine with ghost flames,top half of the car is black with ghost flames. 75% of this car is fomoco,the rest is aftermarket gofast parts.

I had an '89 notch back, that the previous guy put saleen clone parts on. 351w, .030over 10.5-1 big cam, 1050dominator, 2000stall, 4.10 totally reworked suspension oversized sway bar etc. That sucker would fly, as a street racer in the mid nineties, there was very few that could run with it. Totally impractical as a daily, at 5-7mpg, but hi-test 93octane was $0.99gal on Fridays at the coastal mkts(Sunoco) Man I had a ton of fun with that sucker. was blazing 295/50 BFGs off every chance I got.

@@PaulDaFox The one I just bought came with a higher cowl with hood Pins and the monster tach on the dash. Two things I’d never do. But the cowl has to stay for now due to paint. I now have to decide remove the tach and leave holes or just leave it in. As for your list it was well thought out and I thought your explanation of each was spot on

@@The_Bears_Tracks That’s too bad😭Those are hard to repair, doable by a professional but the best I’ve done myself is to simply find the smallest flush mount hole plug just to conceal it up so it’s not as noticeable.🏁

Maybe it changes by area but an ls swapped fox in my area minimum doubles it's value. 5.0 foxes are all over for cheap, a ls fox in my area is minimum 10k.

Agree with 11 of the 12, I could see a really clean notch get away with a gt body kit & no wing out with a nice paint job and panels that line up. I also think moldings and car colors can really make a car pop such as a white coupe on black moldings. Just my 2 cents, not an expert by any means. As for the arguments and infinite debates on why or why things get done on these cars with or without regard for value, I think people go to the combos they know best. I'm not a fan of the ls mindset or swap, but I know now watching the no prep scene explode that alot of big hitters swear by their ls turbo stuff. Reason? Maybe the tuning aspect of things, maybe it's what they know to tune best. I wouldnt even swap a coyote in mine for thar matter, prefer the sbf with a blower or a turbo (blower in my case). The big drag racer crowd of people with a budget in mind and no regard for value on the car will do what they need to do whatever it maybe (ls swap, tubbing, tube chasi & whatnot). Others keep it pure, super clean but sell em, buy another clean one and sell again. People will just stick to what they know and the diversity will always be around.

Paul, good video! I think we are going to see less and less of the ls swaps in these cars, because of the prices of foxbodys is high, also The coyote is replacing the ls swap in these cars. Which i am very happy that all of this is happening because i cannot stand an ls in these cars lol. I know everyone says "ls is cheaper" but is it really? If you examine it for the swap vs a coyote swap the parts needed are the same. Cost for either swap i bet is close,junkyard motor,they both need a computer system,trans,k member, headers, etc. The cheaper argument doesn't really hold up any longer nor does the "faster" argument.

The coupe in my background is basically for the drag strip and I’ve done things to it that has devalued it but I don’t care because it’s built for a purpose, so I get it. I bought my foxbody from a previous "drag racer" I knew going into it would be a mess but it's the only way I could afford to get one before the prices even for that would be out of reach. anywho yeah please don't drill into the dash or A piller I'm constantly finding new damn holes all over the car the welder I hire to fix the firewall and wld new seat supports and Ebrake mounting will put their kid through... maybe the first 2 classes of college and all the books (pretty expensive).

I agree with everything except the ls swap, ford engines just don’t make the power of the ls engine and you can’t really compete in any serious racing unless you do a ls or Chevy power plant of some sort.

To start the Foxbody had a 4 cylinder and it ran like trash and I am more of a chevy guy and I am more knowledgeable about chevy engines but I like Foxbody mustanges.

You forgot to mention mix and matched body kits… half Saleen, half stock, half Dech.. looks like they were built from parted out cars.

No offense taken. I agree with most of what you posted, but, when I build a car, I build it to suit myself. I don't give two hoots what anyone else has to say about it or what they think it is worth. I don't know why anyone should have a say in how anyone else builds their car or how it "devalues" the car. If you like something and it makes you happy to have it that way, do it. I do find it ironic that a guy who basically is sitting in front of drag race inspired car is spouting about devaluing your fox body though.

That said, the video was geared more towards a stockish foxbody about devaluing it, but nonetheless you make a valid point about me sitting in front of my drag oriented fox. I’ll eat that!! I'm guilty of the monster tach. I will say it was nice having it for pulls while tuning. The stock tach was just way off. I'll eventually get a aftermarket gauge cluster.

I like the one piece headlights! I wanted to do a face off front end swap of a Mercury Capri and a 1993 Mustang Coupe. I think I will just get an SVO or Mexican Mustang coupe. Thanks for the advice.

I've owned 2 foxes 89 gt auto conv great car efi 3.73 shift kit cam heads intake 320hp.
The current car 93 gt 5spd was my buddies. Sold it to me after it dropped a valve. He got it 6 months prior from a guy in New Jersey that swapped it to carb and hacked all the wiring. When we built our 347 stroker I decided to leave it carb cheaper to use some of what was there and gut and rewire the whole car than to buy a whole new efi harness and possibly ecu. Happy how it turned out 450hp on pump gas 410 gears. Nice little ripper.

Some months back I found a really nice calypso green coupe for 18,000. Had the look I really wanted, mainly stock look. But had a damn LS in it smh. And still had the nerve on that asking price. I don't consider these people as chevy folk because they junk true chevy engines and call them boat anchors and what not. It's whatever. Ls guys hear me out. The ls is already a recycled ford. Compromise people. At least try a godzilla swap...it's like an ls...but for men. Have a nice day.

My dream fox is aero front end, capri fenders and quarters on a notch with t-tops, and 93 cobra ground effects package, pace car recaros, whipple coyote, 10 speed auto. That is the ultimate cruiser that the wife can still drive. Magnum T56 if she isn't gonna drive it. Air conditioning and NO cage.

John Doc, on one of LS NASTY’s latest videos, said SBFs can make more power than LSs. Cost is often cited as the reason, as if anyone is going to run a stock “junkyard” engine. Save up for another month or 2. There’s no reason to rush. These cars aren’t built in a week.
