@@usa5046 I had to get under my car for a bolt on the bottom, not sure if manual trans has anything to do with this(?) one question would be when replacing it do the large bolts have to be torqued to a specific range?
@@usa5046 so this is a late update, mostly cause it’s embarrassing. Took out the starter, everything looked good so I put it back in and made sure everything was torqued correct. Fired up the car and heard the noise again. Well, turns out I’m dumb and the batter cover was loose and vibrating a bunch every time I started lol
Sorry for the late Reply I don't get comment notifications for some reason. It's a pain to come out once you loosen the nuts on the starter it should wiggle off

Hand tight and another 90 degrees is what I do on starter bolts.

Sorry for the late reply I haven’t had a Jetta but I would say there pretty similar in how there setups are so more than likely they are very close

@@usa5046 Dsg, it for a GLI but it should be the same engine code (ccta from 2013)
@@aldojimenez2975 call fcp euro they can give you the exact number you need there are quite a few they may need your vin to make sure
