You're an OG for this! This going to help me tremendously for my 5MT to 6MT swap in my mk6 remapped tdi.(planning on pushing ~230hp with some upgrades)
best video so far including the drive shaft flange showing the hex bolt needed to be removed. I got stuck with this flange and could not get the gearbox out as the flange was caught on the dust plate sandwiched between gearbox and engine. Such a pain!!!
You are very professional man. All your videos are very helpful. Especially the Passat b5.5 chassis vehicle video is the video and work that I want the most from you. I had to sell my car but now I'm still using the b5 passat. So the more b5 and b5.5 videos come the better it will be for me man. I wish you continued success, hey man. I'm following. Lots of love from Turkey
I have that. Same red and black plastic covered ratchet from harbor freight. I like it better than my expensive snap on. Get a transmission jack from HF. $60. Worth it even if you use it once
Very cool vid. I needed to change the driveshafts and this helped. Tell me please. I have the 1.6BSE engine which several cars have and wondered abt if I went 1.8 or 2.0 motor, will the manual gearbox mount the same? Thanks
Very helpful video. I need to replace the throw out bearing and check on the clutch. I would like to ask where is ur shop located and would u do the job for me if we close enough. Tks a lot
That's a very very good how to. I will definately use it. 2 questions, why did you take out the 2 bolts from the downpipe to the subframe? And did you remove the right drivershaft just to remove the flange in the gearbox? So I assume it is necessary?
I removed the two bolts on the downpipe to the subframe because I need to lower the engine to make clearance to take out the transmission. The downpipe is connected to the engine, so when I lower the engine, the downpipe will get lower as well. Yes, axle needs to come out in order to remove the flange.

I'm happy you found this video helpful. That sounds like a fun project.
I just replaced my clutch following your steps. Thank you so much for this video.
I'm happy you were able to do the replacement with the help of this video, thanks for watching!

Yea, without removing that flange, I don't think it's possible to get it out. Much respect!
Watched this video yesterday and then tackled my gearbox and done it no problem 👌🏻
I'm happy you found this video helpful, much respect!
Awesome video! I have a manual VW Polo R WRC and the process is very similar to mine.
Thanks for watching, much respect!
These videos are great. Thanks for making them and listing the tools and parts. This is very helpful stuff.
Much respect! and thanks for acknowledging my work.

Great video, because of you I might tackle the clutch myself. Thanks bro
Much respect, thanks for watching!
Nice work, more involved than I thought, and you know your stuff that's for sure, no wonder my garage wants to charge me up ! £££££
This video is great!! Quick question: Are you not supposed to use an impact to break the bell housing bolts?
Excellent video. Thanks for putting it together.
Much respect and thanks for watching!

Yea, I got quite a few decent ratchets from Harbor Freight and I like them. Yea, I'm definitely going to look into the transmission jack.
Yo thank you for this video your the man
no problem, much respect 👍🏽
Very thankful for this video. Hoping to replace my slave cylinder soon. What was the flexible extension tool used for the passenger axle?

Glad it helped! I'm not sure if it will mount without modification.
Would this be any different for a 1.8L Gas 5-spd?

Just finished watching your video (great video by the way!) and I’m curious if to replace the throw out bearing just the housing has to be removed?
Much respect! Yes, to replace the throw out bearing you'll have to remove the transmission and bleed the clutch.
Hi, is it possible to keep the original flywheel or is it not recommended? My car is on 80k miles, no noise and not slipping... Cheers
That's a very very good how to. I will definately use it.

@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds That makes sense obviously. Thanks.
How you like this clutch? Considering this but forums have mixed reviews.

Hey I was just wondering if the thread on the axle flange bolt is a reverse thread or a regular thread?
it's regular thread
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Thank you for your reply.👍
Same concept for the mk6 R right?
Good job man
Much respect!
Is the process the the same for an mk6 tdi?
is it the same on the 1.6 aspirated engine? BSE code
not the same, but should be similar.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds thx
Would this process also be the same for the dsg?
Yes essentially the same process. The dsg is slightly bigger.
Is this the same for a 2010 Volkswagen Passat CC 2.0T?
It's a similar process
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds I came across a couple videos. I have the DSG on my 2010 CC and I see people dripping subframes for some reason.

oh, cool.
How high does the front of the car need to be lifted in order to provide enough clearance for the transmission to be removed?
Whens part 2 coming ?
I did the recording already, I just need to do some final touch on the editing.
