  • We’re back with another edition of “Mixing It Up” with our good friend DJ Hapa, a.k.a. The DJ Coach. In this video, he teaches us how to manually beatmatch by breaking down each step and making it easy to learn this new technique quickly.

I learned on Vinyl , without computer, without beatcounter or anything..... just by listening.... and for me, it was the best way to learn. After a while of doin it, I'll become naturally a absolute hearing, wich allows me to filter each instrument drums etc. in my brain, and i dont know if djs get this, when they only look to their Macs and play with Sync.... by the way, sync is great, but i think for the personal
development of each Dj, manual beatmatching is the fiiiiiiirst thing, every dj should learn .... So Hapa ... Thanks for this ! Great Work!!!!!

Beatmatching by ear without looking at the computer can be difficult but totally worth it!!!

Hey, it's DJ Hapa. Took one of your classes from scratch academy many years ago. Just started back again picking up any DJ tips I can. Definitely, going to have to try the blind fold tip. Thank you for the class. I really appreciate it.

Not bad...try it just with turntables and pitch control. Makes sense and probably would increase skill levels

not every track has a snare. It's called a "back-beat" ...listen for the backbeat
