I've taken his Level UP 50 course and now taking the Scratching Simplified course. I highly recommend his courses but you have to be serious about your craft, focused and have fun with it. Was looking at videos how to use the FX on the pioneer Flx6 but after looking at this video it is a awesome controller to buy at that price
I purchased the DDJ-400 but it was too hard to learn so I also bought an SB3. Rekorbox was very complex for an absolute beginner, but Serato and Virtual DJ were much more simple. After a few weeks I am ready to give Rekordbox another chance and learn to use it.
I’m not a DJ at all but I think every DJ should how to scratch. Even if just the basics. Just purchased a flx4. Can’t wait for it to be delivered. Subbed

I just ordered the flex 6 gt
I found out that the fx slot doesn’t matter, I run 6 different fx on this controller, and just use the channel select to choose where I turn it on. I think a lot of folks have not done an in depth on this controller. You can also read the manual which I did.

I've just bought my flx6 about a month ago original vinyl DJ wish there was more videos like this available for the flx6 found it quite helpful the next thing I'd like to learn is how to loop
On the DDJ-FLX6, there are essentially two ways to loop.
1. Hold the IN loop button, and that will engage a 4 beat loop. You can use the Cue/Loop Call buttons to double or cut the loop in half. So if you double a 4 beat loop, it can become an 8 beat loop. If you half a 4 beat, it becomes a 2.
2. The other method is using the pad mode called Beat Loop. It is the secondary function the Beat Jump pad mode button. If your rekordbox pad modes are in default settings, that pad mode will allow you to use the pads to select different loop lengths.
If you’re using Serato, the pad mode labeled “Beat Jump” is actually Auto Loop. Keep in mind, the pad mode labels match rekordbox and can be different functions in Serato DJ Pro.

Can you use music off TH-cam to mix in with your other tracks?
Ripping music to DJ with is not advised. The audio quality is compressed and doesn’t translate well on speakers. If you wish to use a stream service, Tidal, Beatsource, and Beatport are supported on most DJ software including Serato and rekordbox.

When /what is the next upgrade of the DDJ-FLX6? Definitely needs an Auxillary In, and Balance out for club speakers, the jog cutter is hard to get any useful rhythm from, and the Flx6 is not laid out for Serato. The FLX6 is truly designed for Rekord Box with Serato as an afterthought. Pioneers should use the concept of the FLX6 but only with only 2 channels with a price point of around $300. Oh, and add XLR outputs.
Currently, there is no upcoming product officially announced, but we will be posting it here as soon as it does.
The 2 channel version of the DDJ-FLX6 is the DDJ-400. Our products that are hybrid, meaning two DJ software, is often designed around one DJ software first, then integrated for the other.
The DDJ-FLX6 was designed around a rekordbox workflow since it is in line between the DDJ-400 and the DD-1000. Serato was applied as an addition.
Conversely, product like the DJM-S11 and DJM-S7 were designed around a Serato workflow, with rekordbox support as an addition.
If you are looking for a 4 channel dedicated Serato DJ controller, we recommend the DDJ-1000SRT.

Detroit trying to inprove my skills
When I'm attempting to scratch on the FLX6, regardless of whether or not vinyl mode is on, the samples continuously play even if I'm dragging it back something somewhere is pushing the track forward and I can't figure out what.
Let's say I take a 5 second ahhh sample, and try to simply baby scratch with it back and forth at the 2-3 second mark, the track pushes on through to completion at the 5th second even though all I'm doing is going back and forth between 2and 3 seconds.
This happens with both rekordbox and serato so I suspect and assume its a physical setting somewhere that I'm overlooking.
Any guidance would be significantly appreciated.
To be able to scratch, vinyl mode has to be on, and jog cutter has to be off.
To use jog cutter, you must keep the jog wheel moving back and forth. Jog cutter will go into different patterns depending where the LED rotation indicator is pointing.
@@PioneerDJUSA I appreciate thats how it should work, but when jog cutter is on, a 5-7 second sample that I scratch with at say seconds 3 and 4 - will not stay at 3 and 4 seconds on the timeline, it will play out despite me holding the jog wheel. Is there a setting to turn it off so I have control over the track entirely or is this be design?
Oh, apologies, I understand now. Does the jog wheel respond when you attempt scratch with jog cutter off?
