    Man I'm learning to DJ now, got a new controller finally and I love that part where the beats are in right way. For me it's an intuitive work, it almost go outside of me, I just turn the wheel till the sound is "right"^^ Thank you for the tutorials, very helpful!

    I’ve stumbled upon all of your videos and am very grateful! You’re excellent at explaining things for someone who is just starting out. I’m struggling to figure out what a phase sounds like tho... is it the light echo kind of sound that appears in the track?

    Headphone question...how do i switch between channels? Deck A is playing. I want to beatmatch deck B to A without sound going to main system. I allways hear both channels in my headphones and my system at the same time. I hear my left deck on headphone in my right and vice versa

    still confused about the jogwheel so nudging it speeds it up or slows it down don't you need to adjust the tempo fader to? Aren't the jogwheel adjustments only temporary?

    • @Dee-Jay
      @Dee-Jay 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are right. But this video is just to explain how to identify if/when you are in phase or not and which side to correct. Pitch ajustements comes "after" (depending on the preferred method, pitch adjustment can also comes "before" but pitch bend help to know which side to correct) ... Ideally all are made almost simultaneously. Later, once accustomed, is it simultaneous. (Sorry about my poor English).

  • @ADMIN-we3wr

    what tempo range percentage do you use? I use 6% and I'm finding it hard to get the bpm I want on my tempo slider, when about to beatmatch...

    I find it fairly easy when it's the same song but with different dance tracks the bpm seems to be dramatically different 😐 I end up using loops and cues to bring the other track in half the time the beat matching seems impossible arghhhhh 😢

  • @sirarthurasamoah3885
    @sirarthurasamoah3885 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    theres gotta be a way to know for a fact which way to spin the jogwheel. because in a live event you cant just check one side to see if the kicks get farther apart and then go the opposite way it takes too much time . Is there a way to know which way to align track from the start?

    • @TheEarlyBirdofficial
      @TheEarlyBirdofficial 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's two different tracks and you know the tracks. You will be able to hear which kick comes first and which comes after. But why cant you listen if you're going the right direction or wrong direction? Seems like a fine technique to me

  • @tariqbakir2066
    @tariqbakir2066 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm really confused... why doesn't he just start the other song in time? like tap the cue repeatedly then let it go at the right time. I've seen a lot of djs do it this way with the job wheel but I seem to have no issue with beat matching and I've never used the jog wheel

    • @whatafuck64
      @whatafuck64 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      tapping on the cue button the songs aren't always on time. If you're luckly the songs could be on time, but often they are a little bit off time. with the jog you fix the problem

  • @rowdyvanmeurs440
    @rowdyvanmeurs440 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

  • @jackovingar9987
    @jackovingar9987 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cant really find a reason you should beatmatch by ear instead of just pressing the sync button ..
    You can focus on so many other thing when sync is already done

    • @Bedrock1966
      @Bedrock1966 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was at The Ministry of Sound last night (as a guest of a DJ) the CDJ''s there were playing up and the BPM was jumping around all over the place...luckily he could beat-match by ear. What would you have done?

    • @nonegiven9579
      @nonegiven9579 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      very true, if your serious about playing out then you need to be able to beat match. Did they have 1000 MK3's @ Ministry or the new nexus cdj's?

    • @Bedrock1966
      @Bedrock1966 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, I didn't want to crowd the booth. On another point, I have decks and used them for several years. I can beat match on them, but never found it easy. After switching to a small controller that it was impossible to manually beat match on, i used sync. Now after getting a much better controller that I can manually beat match on, I find my manual beat matching to be hugely easier... Even though I've been using sync for way longer than the years using my turntables.

    • @TheEarlyBirdofficial
      @TheEarlyBirdofficial 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is an old comment, but one day youre gonna show up at a location that has a DJ set which doesnt have the sync button. Also tracks made with real instruments in stead of a computer will have an inconsistent bpm
