It's like a mini version of SuperGarage, but instead of pallet racking, I used wide-span shelving which is sort of light-weight pallet racking. Spent a motza at SuperCheap Auto buying heaps of the same stuff you guys picked up from there. Watching these vids is like deja vu 😆. Something I always forget about in my garage space is a computer desk area to look up parts or watch a youtube video on how to do something and a solid stereo system.
definitely important, i wall mounted a monitor on the backstop of my workbenches and hooked each one to a small pc, invaluable for having reference material up and not worrying about getting atf or brake cleaner on your tablet or laptop. keyboards and mice are way more robust than touchscreens and way cheaper too

Interesting to get a small insight into how the Aussie Recycling system works, working in a recycling centre in the UK it's always cool to see how others do it.
Our Recycling system atm is in shambles, mainly because we used to send loads to china and they stopped receiving it a few years ago from us. Most councils havnt really reacted/fixed that issue and alot of our recyclables are going straight into landfill atm.... :(
@@tristanmeadows Well sending all that waste to china makes thigs propably even worse. If you think clearly, do you thing that chinese government gives a toss about trash that comes there? All they care about is the money from receiving those loads of trash. And sorting material there is not in existence. They either burn it all or dump to wastelands unsorted. “Wyze cam” is a cheap way to monitor without a subscription. Plug in your own micro usb card and store clear day and night footage with decent zoom! Was able to submit footage of my car being stolen last year. Vehicle recovered

Recycling here in California is all curbside pickup. We have 3 bins… one for trash, one for recycling, and one for green waste like yard waste (and maybe food scraps and compostables). In our county the recycling bin is also divided into paper recycling and containers (plastic and metal, etc)

That Ryobi Cut-off tool has been pretty handy at work lately. I used it the other day to dissect a surprise non-serviceable air brake chamber. Something that would definitely be useful to you in your new space are the mobile, roll-around lifts that can be positioned anywhere and bluetooth link together for a hoist that you can roll out of the way. The drawback of the models we use in our shop is that they only lift by the tires, but the advantage is also that they only lift by the tires. Nice to see you guys leveling Up!

You guys should charge people to use your new garage, but they can only pay with gifts, so they have to bring something that will stay in the garage, for example, a poster or flag/wall hanging, or a tool/peace of equipment, or an interesting car part. just something fill the empty wall space or create conversion.
I'm a mad recycler, I rip up the cardboard sized for the YELLA BIN & tear off all the tape for the BLUE BIN & it drives my wife nuts. No doubt you guys have an army of mates, so one or two barbies should be enough to get it done & be a hoot. I wish I could be there. In Brisbane it’s pretty basic. Load it in your Ute/van, take it do the dump and then unload it into the dedicated recycling skip. Recycling is free to dump where I am which is pretty dope, you can recycle used oil, styro, steel, ally, cardboard and more all for free.
I HIGHLY suggest you look into the Uline shelves with casters and PIG mat for parts storage on teardowns and stuff. I'm a diesel tech, and its the absolute go-to for our big projects.

You have come a long way since that little garage you were working out of back in the day. I can remember the shoe test, between the tire and the fender. If the body was to high to get a low profile. I think it was super gramps. You have expanded your experience to the highest level of what you know now as, professional mechanics now, self thought experts. It just proof anyone can do it without going to an expensive school or training..Which is a super accomplishment by both of you..and look it has payed off, in your world wide fame as D.I.Y. professional mechanics..! My dad has been a mechanic all his life and is now 66. He's owned and operated his own shop for much of that time. It WAS white inside. Probably the worst decision is to put white inside there. I know it a bit brighter now. But if you are the slightest bit dirty, those walls will be all marked up and a complete mess in no time. ;) Good luck. Also MAAADDD shop. Off to a GREAT start! I would recommend putting up something around that work corner to protect the walls from all the oils and splashes of things that will happen. Just an option.

Nice place! Love the pallet racks, I'd also add some steel crossbars perpendicular to the main beams under the wood sheeting. Over time, the wood will bow, warp, and move as you put things on and take things off especially the heavier things. Having worked for a yard with the same type of pallet racking and having to pull pallets and its contents that have fallen through is no fun. Hopefully, you guys also have the pillars bolted into the floor.
Really keen to see the evolution of the set up of the super garage. Particularly tool storage, whatever you do, make sure you give yourself room to add more as Ryobi etc add further tools to the range

I've been watching you guys for a fair while and i have to say, I love you guys. It's great to see how far you guys have come from making vids in marty's driveway all the way to owning your own super garage haha. Thank you guys for all the entertainment and advice you have put out for us viewers to watch and learn from. You guys have inspired me to research and learn about cars and engines and what not. I really like the modular tool/parts carts idea! Especially with multiple vehicles it will really make for an easy work change.
