Thanks for your comment Steve. I have been using sealed batteries, plus there is space and air coming from around the tailgate so there is some ventilation. But you're right that that is something to think about during the design, mostly for such a small space.
Great setup. Please don't listen to the rude or hateful comments. You did a great job utilizing the space you have versus the space everyone thinks you need. I have a set up similar built off of a 6*8 utility bed that I put into a 5*8 trailer. Keep up the great work! Cheers.
For the ones wanting more height. You can builds sides on top of your bed rails all the way around and then set your topper on top of the lift. Ive seen some done that looks junky and ridiculous but i have seen some that took pride and homework in their work and done it right and it looked great but also very sturdy and safe to handle the topper secure. Where do you do your cooking, if you don't mind me asking please? Do you sit at the table to do it? Great video, thanks
Thank you for commenting. To cook we have a propane stove which we put on the side, near the fridge, and use the table to cut & prep food, or more often when the weather permits we cook on the tailgate. Since I did this video I installed a water tap and a stainless steel plate at the rear for that purpose.
I have a 2003 Ranger, 2 wheel drive, 400 cubic inch, V-6 (I love my Ranger). It came with a short cap (what you call a hardtop), which is level with the top of the cab, and I use the back for sleeping just a couple of times a year. Did you glue wood blocks to the cap for attaching the curtain brackets? I just added little picture frame brackets under some of the bolts for the window frames, and used stretchy shock cord in the curtain hems, then I can just stretch it over the brackets like a shower cap. Your setup looks nice.
Yes I glued plywood cut to fit around the windows, in order to mount the curtains brackets. Same with the light fixtures. The wood was then carpeted over.

Excellent video. Impressive build. Looks functional and comfy
Thank you!

Thanks, which glue did you use?
@@stevegabbert9626 Here they call it contractor adhesive. It comes in cartridges like silicone and it sticks to a variety of materials in a short time.
Fantastic design and construction!
Thank you very much!
Very attractive, comfortable and effective use of space.
Hundreds and hundreds of videos of truck cap/shell camper conversions my family has watched, this is the closest to what we've designed and starting to build. We wanted to restore our truck before we started on the camper part.
EDIT: I posted a slideshow video of our truck build so far if anyone would like to check it out.
Nice build
Thanks!
WOW! Great job!
Thank you!
Would like to have that truck cap here in the states for a full size f250 ford looking for a high cap like that.
Unfortunately that one is only available in Argentina. Good luck in your search.
Fantastic job, what a great setup!!!
Thank you!
This looks amazing, thanks for sharing! Where did you find the mattress?
Hello. They were custom made from high density foam, and home made covers. They are comfortable and lasted quiet well.
Hola amigo Felicitaciones te quedó espectacular..... Saludos suerte..!!!
