    I will be adding more monitors over time! If you have any suggestions, let me know.

    I was using 32" for 3d modelling and upgraded to 34" ultrawide monitor and i gotta tell this; vertical space is not really good enough (same height of 27" of 16:9 monitors). I had to move my head to look to the sides with ultrawide and if i want to fix that by moving the monitor far away from me; height of the monitor seems not good enough to work with from that far. 3 months later i am switching back to normal 32" monitor and quite happy about it.
    If you still want to use an ultrawide monitor then i recommend you to have a bigger sized one than 34" as video suggests; and have a curved one so you would need less head movement to look at the sides (because of the curve, sides will be closer to your viewing angle). Just be aware, with curved monitors you might have weird bending on straight lines which might be a problem for doing digital art with it.

      Cool mate, I am also working in the 3D industry and was hoping for an answer like that! Essentially I want to move from 2 monitors to only having one. The question I am asking myself is whether a 32“ monitor is fine for having 2 applications opened up next to each other. (Let‘s say you are working with some kind of software and browsing the web)

    • @swordsmancity
      @swordsmancity 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@acrossARTS If you are using 27" monitors for your 2 monitor setup, 34" ultrawide might work for you. About having multi aplications on 16*9 screens, it might feel a bit tight. At the end i think you must try it yourself and decide which is working better for you. Good luck mate.

    34 inch is a 27'' + wider while 32 inch is a 31 inch 21:9 + more height . for youtube + tv series a little bit smaller for movie compare to 34 inch. After using both i pick the 32 for everyday use

  • @cosmosnomad
    @cosmosnomad 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I don't know if I fully agree with the conclusions you drew. Though I appreciate you highlighting the video playback disadvantages for 21:9 monitors. I think productivity and video playback use cases are at odds with each other. 21:9 really does seem great if having multiple windows open simultaneously is something that would be useful. On the other hand, 16:9 monitors are pretty crap for that, necessitating multiple monitors if you must have that aspect ratio and multiple windows open. I'll have to try for myself

    • @NilsonCreative

    So 38" 32:9 that has the vertical dimension same as a 30" monitor would be your ideal solution? LG has this and I'm sooo tempted between this and the 32:9 Samsung

    • @adrianb.4653
      @adrianb.4653 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      honestly for people with this question, I'd go with the 48" lg c1 oled if you are able to sit far enough from it or create a custom desk like two desks together. it's cheaper than the 32:9's has better picture quality and more screen real estate vertical as well as same horizontally. because of the perfect blacks of oled you could actually just sit same distance and use only the bottom half of the display that would mirror what a 32:9 woould be. Plus next year they will come out with 42" oled 4k@120hz and low input lag so could even wait for that. the ultrawides are becoming obsolete with the new technology and will be just niche for looks rather than funtionality soon.

    I tried both. The 34" ultra wide is no good. Most websites and videos are optimized for 16:9 and not 21:9 and while you can put more websites side by side on the 34 you lose quite a lot of vertical space and it just looks odd. If they had a monitor that was the same height as the 32 and ultra wide, then that would work well I think.

Vertical height makes a massive difference in my opinion especially for people who do office work, need to read documents, use office/excel etc. I did end up buying a 32" monitor and to me its perfect. Thank you so much mate finally a decent video comparison. That vertical space is so crucial for me since I amw woking with double page pdfs or word documents and with a 32" I can see both pages without them being cut. In the 34" UW I would struggle.
    Btw does anyone has a counter proof: I cannot seem to find any Ultra-Wide Monitor which has the same vertical space/height like this 32" monitor (around 39cm). the ultr awide monitors have vertical space for around (33cm).

      @@kontikonsumi2028 @nilson gaspar Thanks for asking this question, is it 39cm because the ending resolution is 1600p and not 1440p resolution which is typically found in ultrawide monitors? But the 32" monitor you showed in the video was only 1440p resolution so I'm still confused how to work it out. I looked at the LG website Nilson provided above but there is no mention of 39cm in the specs..any help is appreciated😊

    Had this internal debate when upgrading from a 27inch. Found only a slight premium for an ultrawide (IPS) against the 32inch (IPS) when comparing prices . I decided on the 34 inch ultrawide curved. i love being able to have 3 windows open and find that my productivity is much better with the UW. Am a convert!!

    32 inches for sure because when watching and playing games, most are gonna be set to 16:9 and if i had a 34 inch then id be stuck with huuuuge unused screen bezels which just sucks. id say it be better to have a second monitor thats much cheaper than 1 huge 34 inch monitor.

    Thank you for this comparison. It's the closest that I could get the idea of how ultrawide is in real life.
    Currently, I am using a 27" 4k and I want to buy another monitor for my dual display setup.
    I almost ordered the UW 34". It looks nice and clean on the desk as you mention but when working, I don't think I will enjoy a narrower vertical space.
    I go for a 4k 32" instead. ^_^

    I've gone back and forth between 32 and 34 but I have to say, currently, the ultrawide is best for me. Windows 11 window snap has made productivity and other things more enjoyable for general web browsing/content consumption etc too. The 65/35 split view works well.
    Games just look so much better in 21:9 and i have a 7900xt so i get at least 120 frames on every game. I honestly believe the next upgrade for me will be the 38 inch 1600p. The best of all worlds. Same verticality as a 32 inch 16:9 but i'll wait until i upgrade the gpu years from now and hopefully by then, we'll have more 38 inch 1600p options. And if we don't get any new 1600p options, then the 39 inch 21:9 at 4k 240hz with a high end GPU will be the end game cream of the crop
