Absolutely brill! As an IT-guy myself I taped a square on the floor for fun, after showing this to my workmates, haha! They loved it!

Johan Glans, the one playing the office guy, i dare say is one of our very best comedians of all time.

Glans is great, but the guy doing the it-dude (and some other characters in Skatan) is even better.

What Grotesco is doing so well is that they understand that comedy is just a laugh. It's a joke. Many modern comedians do not dare to be on the edge in fear of insulting someone. But it's on the edge where the best comedy lives. Soggy Biscuit for example. Such a f*cked idea for a song. But it is so well done that it leaves you crying with laughter. Lorry was a group of comedians in the 80-90s when political correctness was not invented yet. They are probably my favorite together with Grotesco. Not sure you will find translated versions of Lorry though.

I was the IT-guy. And yes. Swedish IT-guy. I feel bad now for a tad bit arrogant I might have been with all those people and businesses depending on me. There was nobody who I could fix it unless I did it. Maybe they could have hired a really expensive contractor who where even more arrogant. I was teased by my coworkers about this very sketch and yes. There was some truth in it. I was usually very kind, caring and helpful though. I only got the difficult problems where others failed. But the actual power corrupted some and although i was good the dependency gave me a bit too much of an ego. Hi Boss! if you are reading this. :)

Kvarteret Skatan (A block of flats that is called Skatan (Skatan= the bird Magpie) ) is super great and one of my favourites and Johan Glans as well, he is also a great doing stand up. Im not sue if there are any more ones with english subtitles though but they would certainly deserve to be translated though.

Kvarteret Skatan is great. There are a lot of great comedy there.
A slightly (ok, a lot) more adult oriented comedy series is Karatefylla. Lots of alcohol and sex jokes, so maybe not for everyone.

All Swedish comedians is risen out of the Monty Python pedigree. And off coarse the “- Not the nine’o clock news and a lot of British comedy.
That’s why You so easily identify yourself with Swedish comedy. We Swedes and Brits want intelligent humour.

Allthough Monty Python was very popular in Sweden, Hasse och Tage, Povel Ramel and others did dry humor before this. Look for "Norgevisan" by Helmer Bryds Eminent Five Quartet as an example.

    • @ProgMannen
      @ProgMannen 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Many swedish comedians of today maybe, BUT many also from Hasse & Tage.
And the older people like me (63) rembers Carl-Gustav Lindstedt, Lars Ekborg, Gösta Ekman, Roffe Bengtsson, Sten-Åke Cederhök, Tjadden and lots and lots more from the 50's and 60's. So there is a quite long line of tradition in comedy that never had any knowing of monty python.
Thou i myself loved loved python. So my point is that many today are influenced by Hasse & Tage and the people in that realm.
But of course.. British and Swedish comedy are in many ways similar to each other...
Ps. Forgot "Helt Apropå" "galenskarna" "Lorry" all swedish classic comedy groups..

I rewatch the show every couple of years for some nostalgia. The episode where Ulf is supposed to surprise Kristina on their anniversary and says he will take her to Mamma Mia, but it turns out it's a pizza place. There are so many good bits in this show

“Kvarteret” = quarter, city block. “Skatan” = black bird. We tend to name every block in Sweden, similar to Japan.

Totally agree that Johan Glans has it all.
The kind of insecure bodylanguage of his in combination with a total self distance make it high quality comedy almost every time he enters the scene.
Unfortunately most of his work is much better understanding swedish (lose a lot during translation).

Its about using all stereotypes togheter, this one is about Stockholms take on Gothenburg, swedishnes, mixed with USA influence.. it gets a mess!
The thing is.. im frome Gothenburg and love this episode, the other thing is that its a high quality production!
