Lost in translation... 🤪

Some semi interesting music facts from this clip. Read if interested: Filip mentions Carl "Calle" Jularbo, an accordionist from the neighbouring town also named Jularbo (figures). Carl was very popular in Sweden and was a household name in musical entertainment. Carl passed away in 1966 but another accordionist took his place, one could say, and that is Roland Cedermark, born 1938 in Älvros, Härjedalen County. Roland is the one playing "Pretty B*linda" of which you hear a snippet whilst Kjell is beeing presented to Filip and Fredrik. He is also featured playing the song with Filip & Fredrik in the intro to the show. Calle Jularbo is translated as "Kalle Christmas" in this clip since "Jul" means "christmas" in swedish but this should not be considered in the name of Jularbo. It´s simply a name. And a small shout out to the Streets. Excellent music group!

It's a shame that the subtitles are poor in many of the clips you view.

Midsummer is pretty much always celebrated in one of two ways: 1 - the family way. Playing and a long dinner with the drinking spread out so few (hopefully none) get really plastered before the children gone to bed or fallen asleep. And the original* part of the celebration, if done at all, is done behind closed doors in bedroom mainly with your partner. 2 - the teenage/young adult way. With no children present, more drinking and often with less discrete and more fluid celebration of the original* meaning. *Midsummer is in origin and as its core a fertility rite. I will not explain that further.

It's not exactly right but "löpsedel" could perhaps be translated to "headlines" because that's what's on a löpsedel.

If you like Filip & Fredrik I would recommend to check out the Swedish tv-series 'High Chaparall' (yes, spelled with two L's), for example with Gary Busy, Monica Lewinsky, Vince Neil or Ron Jeremy.

I buy it by weight in grams at the local store. The shrimp one as a dont like liver pastey.

100 höjdare is a disability humor show for sure. Funny but with a small bad taste.

The text that isnt translated at 2:32 said that Kjell was badly injured and almost lost hisblife in a train accident 1998. The disco dance became a part of his rehabilitation.

100 höjdare is the attempt to find the 100 most exceptional persons in Sweden. Philip and Frederik did well.

Dance-man is super-prepped. His Swedish is also very, very hillbilly dialect.

So many amazing… exemplars… on this show. Philip and Frederik are experts at meeting… special… guests. I did love when Ron Jeremy took them to a bordello (no shit) or when they solemnly serenaded Johnny Knoxville after a ton of substances. That would be the show Bonanza though.
