I don't think the girl at Duke has anything to worry about, she will undoubtedly experience the Holy One's fire for all eternity!
I have been waiting for this. The only Calvinist theology-holder that this Lutheran listens to other than Redeemed Zoomer.
As soon as I heard about the opening ceremony I immediately said your joke😂
I love these, more informative than the news...
My favorite news show! Great work.
That clip from Duke "Divinity" School...I thought we were going to stroke out. Thank you for your excellent content!
I love Church Soup! Been binging them up to the most recent one😅
I laughed throughout but you got me on that Jurassic Park edit!🤣🤣 genius, just genius
It'd be cool if you brought Gavin Ortlund on the channel, it'd be an epic Reformed Baptist teamup
I second this. You two are my favorite reformed teachers.
The climate changers guy?
@@johntuttleiii8445the trust the science guy….
I was wondering when the next CS would be, started to miss that sarcasm. May God always bless you & your family, Keith!
Thanks bro, the anniversary vacation got me a little behind :-)
Oh man been waiting for this ... as always Great Content .. GOD Bless brother
Thanks brother!
Great episode, as always.
The Abominators definitely mocked Christ on purpose.
1) There are pre performance interviews where they brag about it.
2) A guest on Crosspolitic said it was a reenactment of a French Revolution defilement of a church.
Ahh yes, my favorite news channel
I appreciate the 2CV shield!
Oh wait, you're right.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😎
Keith: Ortlund and yourself are my two favourite christian youtubers right now. I would love to see you collaborate.
Harbor Freight Doug Wilson 🤣
HarborFrieght Doug for Prez! Ima write you in!
Gavin's beef is with her putting him in a book with that inflammatory title. We have to ask: Is Gavin a Shepherd for Sale as the book implies? So far Megan has snidely doubled-down.
Lol now now dont be hating on all dispensationalist. I am one but i do not agree with alot of those crazy one. Heck i never even knew any crazy ones until i found youtube.
Same here...!
This guy is funny
These videos are always so great!!
These are so good, really enjoy the humor and so excited every time there is a new church soup! Thanks for making me laugh in my day!
The sm 57 sounds better than your new fancy mic
Thank you, I appreciate you noticing and giving me feedback (no pun intended, lol)
Wait a minute. Is Keith not a dispensationalist? I didn't think you could be Baptist without being dispensationalist.
EDIT: I guess not since he's amillennial. I just never connected the dots. I still don't think that's allowed by the Baptists. Might need to check the rule book
Well, if that young lady doesn't repent of the blasphemous nonsense she was spewing, she might just get her wish to step into the Holy One's fire.
I had the Walmart jncos 🤣 I think they were just jinx.
You always make my day...laughed all the way through..take care
How old is the clip at 3:59? It seems old because people don't wear masks like that anymore as far as I know.
Was that the guy from truth unites
@kaleblam5084 Yes, that's Gavin Ortlund from the Truth Unites channel
but really who gavin orhtland?
I always laugh when I hear people use the phrase, “be who you truly are” or variations thereof. It’s just a cutie way of saying, “absolute right and wrong don’t exist”. What if Adolf Hitler and Ted Bundy were following that advice?
Why isn’t Ted Bundy and every school shooter celebrated for being who they truly are?
On their way to Target. Now that's funny I don't care who you are.
They weren't mocking the painting. They were using that image to mock Christ.
All you cool guys who think this should slide off our backs, I wonder how you would react if the filth was aimed at your wife? Or your mom?
You gotta warn us before playing heretical clips. My St. Nick hand was getting hot.
I like Basham's thesis in her book but I feel like there's a lot of "that's true, but there is also X" going on for all of the people she called out. Write enough stuff, say enough stuff, you're going to have based and cringe.
Even Russell Moore, who she fashions into some kind of Big Eva mob boss type figure. Maybe even especially Russell Moore.
There's a really compelling argument that the book needs a breakout of things specifically relevant to the SBC and have a discussion about rank-and-file populism in the SBC vs. celebrity pastor/institution president influence at the messenger's meeting next year.
Russell Moore is so bad that it would be a real feat to be too hard on him
Phil Vischer talked a bit about it. He's mentioned and his 'sin' is footnoted to a video that he didn't write or do, it was just under the Holy Post name. There is also a summary of the book by Phil on the Holy Post blog after he read it.
Thanks.
A lot of good humor, but the behind that humor is a lot of dark truth about the current state's of Christ's church. God help us.
You should see a doctor for that dispy cough.
I cant tell if he is holding a pen or a plastic straw as a joke.
Haha! It’s a red bic pen with the top left on :)
Ever becoming one?
Yep, just babbling
Notice all the masks in audience

I think you're at least an Anglo 8.5😂😂
The problem with Gavin Ortlund is he is an old earth creationist who holds to local flood.
I thought this sentence was going to be about “the problem” but I didn’t find a problem?😂
That “school” just about made me throw up.
Awesome! And I have a question 🙋 where do you film this? ❤
I film in a 10x12 shed that I converted into a studio

Nice! You are correct!!!
Keith, I really appreciate you and your ministry, but I respectfully think you are in the wrong for taking the middle ground with Megan’s book. Gavin outlines so specifically how she misquoted and misrepresented him. I have listened to him for years and I’ve never heard him once do the things she’s accusing him of. I would encourage you to continue praying about how you should respond.
This is better than the evening news. We the people want a daily show
In fairness, even before I heard about the "Feast of Dionysus" thing, I didn't think the reenactment looked anything like The Last Supper painting. I've been telling people ever since, if that was their intent, they failed miserably. Moreover, that whole episode demonstrated precisely why "sacred" images are a bad idea. For crying out loud, it's a painting made well over 1400 years after the fact that almost certainly looks NOTHING LIKE the event in question. People freaking out about them (supposedly) imitating said painting as though it was profaning the actual event was ridiculous. But even if they did intend to blaspheme by mocking the event of the last supper, so what? Their profanity doesn't hurt us, and it certainly can't hurt God. It only hurts them, in the end. Call them out on it, fine. But to get so enraged and riled up about it is absurd.
Thank goodness I'm a Presbyterian.
They actually admitted that they were indeed making their own interpretation of the last supper. Regardless of it being a painting, their intent was to mock God and thar does matter. Even if their intent wasn't to mock God they did and it was an open display of disgusting perversion which was thrust into the faces of the entire world including children.
@@chrisjohnson9542 Even if you're correct about their intent, which I have not seen confirmed from any official source yet, everything I said still stands. I already agreed that it's fine to call them out for what they did. Being angry about the general perversion on display makes more sense than being angry that they mocked a painting. But anger itself is still pretty useless. Also, I never said or intended that their mockery of God "doesn't matter," just that people getting so angry about it is stupid. Which it is. Their mockery can't hurt God, but it is an offense, and God will certainly repay them for that offense Himself. That's why I said it's only truly hurting themselves, in the end. Our anger accomplishes nothing, and we can address the actual issues for our part without it.
The main drag queen in the piece confirmed it. Maybe not an "official source", but I don't really expect the Olympics to confirm it.
Frozen Chosen
Pastor Foskey, I want to lovingly remind you that scripture commands us not to mock or disrespect those whom God gas placed in authority. We must hold to this even in our joking. Ecclesiastes 10:20 “Even in your thoughts, do not curse the king,
nor in your bedroom curse the rich,
for a bird of the air will carry your voice,
or some winged creature tell the matter.”
Exodus 22:28 “You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.”
1 Peter 2:17 “17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.”
Maybe spend some time in Paul's epistles. I recommend Galatians. OR, you could revisit Christ and the "Sons of your father, the devil".
I'm guessing Pentecostal
Not Pentecostal. I am a Reformed Bible Believing Gospel Preaching Christian. Scripture however is clear that we are to give respect to authority, whether we desire to or not. I would commend you to read the book of Daniel, and see the way which he speaks to the pagan rulers, then reconsider your disrespect of those who God has placed in authority over you.
Have they been placed in authority? No. They haven't. You have to have apostolic succession to have actual God ordained authority.
@@dman7668 Does God not set kings in their place? Does he not sovereignty place them upon their thrones? Scripture would disagree with you brother.
Getting your knickers all tied up over a perceived insult on a 16th century painting portraying an event that no one knows exactly how it actually looked like is rather silly.
We wish it were a 'perceived insult'
It was intended to insult Christianity
@@toolegittoquit_001 Christ is stronger than silly insults. We need to stop acting like Muslims yelling and crying over insults to their leader.
@@MrAndyhdz So dont defend the first 3 commandments? God didnt warn mockery in Galatians 6:7?
Christians should speak up when directly referenced for opportunities to spread the Gospel (Matthew 28:19).
@@MrAndyhdzYour analogy is a bit off don’t you think? What do you think Muslims would do, in a country like France, had a depiction of Muhammad with kids been presented? Think Charlie Hebdo. It’s not our knickers that are “all tied up”, rather it’s your worldly and twisted perspective. According to you, I guess it’s wrong for Christ followers to voice their disagreements? Silly indeed.
