Great video. Just some advice, but as soon as you're in the clear and know you are in fact headed to the boat, begin setting up your jet. The less you have to do the closer you are to the boat the better. Don't take marshall patterns for granted. It's always better to have your DDI's set up, hook down, and ILS plugged before entering the stack. Also, remove your RWR symbology from the HUD when you are headed back to the boat. You don't need all that clutter distracting you from what's really important during that phase of flight.
Nicely done.
the only thing i would say is there is no set speed on the upwind leg. Usually, it’s a competition between the pilots to see who can fly by the fastest and still hit all of the marks.
I agree. I was simply going off the published DCS supercarrier manual. I know the Navy pilots like to do their SHB at 500+ knots. I can always give that a go in a future video.
Hi
Can you please make a detailed tutorial about how to make Triple Nickel Approach for F-18
Great tutorial by the way thanks .
Great vid, thanks! Do we know how close to these comms and procedures we can expect the super carrier?
Thanks. I followed the Supercarrier manual as well as I could, but could only get so far with the
Imitations of the mission script. That’s when I’d fill in the missing calls. Download the SC manual if you haven’t already. forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=267461
@@chazflyz Cheers, thanks
Are you using a different skin for the cockpit textures?
Yes. Clean and dark. www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3309130/
How would you go about to intercepting the carrier pattern ? Same question for the turn to initial ? Do you just eye ball it ?
I'm sure there are some Hornet pilot rule of thumbs and calculations. I just eye balled. The max distance is 5nm in the holding pattern. I flew at 250 kts and used about 30 degrees of bank. That kept me within 3 to 3.5 nm the entire time. Technically, by the NATOPS manual, all entries must intercept on a tangent which makes it easier to do.
Same for the initial. Eye balled it. Turn no sooner than abeam the stern of the ship. I was aware I was at 250 increasing to 350 when exiting the turn so my turning radius would be greater. So, I need to compensate for that to meet the 3nm IP.
Main complaint is the overlapping radio chatter...
The overlapping chatter can be turned off. I had it on just for this video.
Which mission did you use for this tutorial? Any link maybe?

Where did you get that Air Boss script and menu options menu from? The one I have is a very robotic sounding female.

Just stumbled across this video. Is there any chance in hell you'd mind sharing your mission file for this on ED's user files to include the airboss.lua file? I've been digging through info, reading a zillion pages and making a crap top of failed mission attempts to get the airboss working. I'd like to hopefully examine your script and see what I'm doing wrong. Thanks
I just used this mission file straight from MOOSE. no edits on my end unless something "broke" after this video: github.com/FlightControl-Master/MOOSE_MISSIONS/tree/develop/OPS%20-%20Airboss/Caucasus
@@chazflyz yeah I saw that mission. I got it working on the Syria map to include random airliner traffic going to and from airports along with container ship and fishing ships. It just took a bit to self teach myself how to edit the Lua files to do what I wanted.
You should have done this at a different time of the day. Sometimes it’s difficult to see the HUD symbology when you’re flying into the sun. Not great when it’s supposed to be a tutorial.
