*sorry for the Thrustmaster overlays, I was practicing for a Thrustmaster DCS competition and forgot to turn them off for recording. By the time I realized, the boys were no longer available for filming. It doesn't obscure anything important.

I think that the asterisk showcased at 16:00 simply indicates that that's the contact selected in the SA page by the 'step' button. (It has nothing to do with the contact's target designation.) This makes it very useful cause you can select any contact you want on the SA page, including enemy, and have it always highlighted on JHMCS. Also the number below, I believe, is the distance to the contact, not their altitude.
Another quick tip for the SA 'step'... When there are a lot of contacts on your SA page, it can be obnoxious having to "step" through all of them before finally getting to the correct one, so what you can do instead is simply assign TDC to the SA page and then slew the cursor over the desired contact and then press 'step', this will immediately highlight the correct one.

Very helpful! Some correction: I believe the 7.2 number at 11:09 is actually the Viper fuel (7200 lbs), since its altutide is already 6,500ft

You can easily switch between the HSI and SA modes by using the SCS. Press SCS in the direction of the display it is on to assign it TDC priority, then press it again to toggle between the modes. So by default with the HSI on the bottom AMPCD, press SCS down to select the screen, then SCS down again will switch it to SA, SCS down again will return it to HSI.

Could you imagine what an F-22 or F-35, even a new system on a 16 or 18, could do, the tech would probably blow your mind. Just learning this 18 blows my mind, all it can do. Thing is an absolute terror.

So question, may be pointless as it may cause data overload. But say dark was a member with simba, and cap was a member with simba but not dark would cap still see darks data? Shared through simba? The use case would be say 2 flights of air defense working together, to many for 1 member group but data shared and pulled through the 2 leads, making iff and target deconfliction better, maybe……

How about another silly idea! I’d love to see a futuristic US Navy Arsenal Ship strike to see what would’ve happened if they hadn’t cancelled it. They would be made up if a squadron of 2, and would be stealthy and hard to detect over the horizon. Each ship would carry about 500 missiles, so 1000 between the 2, made up of some sams as well as various attack missiles, like lrasm and probably some futuristic american hypersonic attack missiles. Maybe the type 055 would finally have some competition 😂

    Question?
Is it worth buying DCS (or rather the planes n stuff)
Or, is there going to be a new even better DCS-2 (or similar) out soon?
Feels like maybe i missed the boat.

DCS just had a major upgrade to the core game now is a good time to get in.. best thing to do is get a reasonable joystick with twist grip for rudder and a slider for throttle (like a logitec extreme 3d pro) need a good pc with decent graphics card and memory. first module to buy should be Flaming cliffs3 as you get a heap of fast jets F15,Mig29,Su27 etc that are easy to learn on before getting a more complex module like the F14 or similar

Excuse my ignorance(I know almost nothing of DCS) is it possible to take these datalink features.. and then say apply/add them to the F-35 in DCS? I ask because of the B-21 stealth package video you all did about 8 months ago

So...will a Non-Member and Non-Donor still contribute targets up the AWACs and in turn down to your SA??
Also, instead of using your HMCS, can you step to his SPI on the SA page and designate from there??

So there's not really a way to directly share A/G targetting information in a precise way like the A-10C can do? The SA page method shown here is really just moving the tpod across terrain and spitballing the cursor overlap with a needed visual confirmation through the tpod if you need to hit a precise and specific target. The HMCS method is basically the same with the initial step being through the HMCS. The reason why the difference matters is that A-10C's sharing will get you looking directly at a vehicle that may be well hidden and the other can't. If you're going to drop a CBU-97/105 in the area, maybe the imprecision doesn't matter, but if you only need and want to use a 500lb JDAM or LGB on a reasonably armored target, then you need to be pretty dead on.

Please Please can we have a mission with some Blackburn Buccaneers. I Know they are antiquated but in their small slot were a very important part of the fleet air arm(with nuclear weapons). I think it would be nice change to the modern gen 5/6 stuff. Regardless, I love your stuff and your rapport with your gaming group. Thanks guys.

    Thanks a lot
