VIRB 0441-0444 Bob, Al, and Ruth fly to Williston X60 from Apopka X04 on Independence Day 2024

My dear lady Ruth has accepted our invitation to accompany us on a flight this morning on July 4, 2024. The weather was clear over most of the state, so Bob decided on a flight to Williston. I wanted to capture some of the pre-flight activity and conversation. It proved to be a challenging day for the return trip because by 2 pm considerable convective activity was widespread. Ruth was a good sport when we decided to return to the FBO at Williston to assess the weather. We delayed our departure until some of the convective weather had dissipated enough to provide safe passage.
At Williston, we introduced Ruth to Crazy Carol, the owner of Piper Kubb Airport restaurant, and her husband David. We opted for the RNAV 23 approach at Williston and the RNAV A approach to RWY 15 on the return trip to Apopka. One bold of lightning is observed while on final approach to Apopka.
