Cockpit Casual - INDIA (the Double-Repo)

- On this episode of Cockpit Casual, Steve & Bob head to Hyderabad India to grab two Airbus A320 NEOs from the now-defunct airline, "Go First". The project took place in early January of 2023 and these were actually the first two aircraft pulled by lessors prior to the airline ceasing operations. In other words, these aircraft would "go first"!
The duo from Nomadic flew from Philly to Doha on Qatar Airlines, then on to Hyderabad where they did some sightseeing around Charminar with the go-pros. The next day, Steve took left seat in the first aircraft and flew it to Istanbul via Cairo. After arriving in Turkey, they overnighted and the next day went right back to Hyderabad to grab the second aircraft.
The project took the better part of a week, and was a non-stop, action packed adventure from the start. As usual, the episode features original Jazz from Steve Giordano Sr and lots of great footage from the Cockpit and around the world.
Please never get rid of this channel! This channel is everything I love about aviation, in a shortly packed video. Love you guys!
Same, actually I have work to do tonight, but I had a few hours off and have been rewatching this episode half asleep before I need to get up drink a red bull and get back to work. But I do the other as well
@@EricBishard haha sort of a meditation eh? Good luck with whatever work you're up to
Been binge watching this channel for the last few days and I've gotta say this is unique aviation content was much needed - I purposely don't keep notifications on but since watching I need to keep up with these - Thanks for your hard work getting these out!
My pleasure! Enjoy!
Great Video’s!
Thank's guys, it seems ages since your last vid. Well up to your usual standard😊 great vibes and tunes🎼🎷🎸🎹🎺🥁 Keep on keeping on 🥰
@@CockpitCasual wow just discovered this channel, superb content 🎉
Right? How crazy is it that they're flying narrow and wide bodies under part 91, I'm jeans, t shirt and ball caps?
This music on this was incredible!
I was so excited to watch the video when the title said: INDIA. And the next best thing is: you guys visited Hyderabad, the city I live in. I just discovered this channel a week ago. Can't stop binge watching all of your videos. Hyderabadi Biryani, the best!!
For sure! Glad you found us….
As an aviation enthusiast in India, I sometimes experience a sense of disappointment because the only opportunity get to watch cockpit videos in India is when someone from another country flies here, as it is prohibited domestically (SAD) . Nevertheless, I appreciate your efforts, and I particularly enjoyed the "7" callout.
Started off with crediting the whole team and I respect that! This channel is content relief from the usual aviation videos. Just as another user mentioned, this channel is like the Parts Unknown of aviation. Keep up the good work.
Thanks - we’ve got a great team here and I should get them in more videos!
Indian; based in California; avgeek; stumbled upon this channel a couple of months ago and binge watched all the videos within a week. Realized that uploads are spread around and so would have to patiently wait till the next one dropped.. subscribed all the same and decid3d to join the list of waiting fans…Imagine my eyes popping out when YT notifies me that the next video dropping involves India! Santa decided to come a quarter early but I’m not complaining.. Great job as always guys!! Back to the wait for the next one now ;)
Awesome thanks man!!
There is NO better show to watch late in the evening after a long a$$ day. If i fall asleep due to the perfect storytelling voice I can just rewatch over and over😂
Nice!
I'm surprised that such a quality channel doesn't have more subscribers, although maybe it's better, because with a large number of subscribers, it goes beyond a hobby and becomes a job, and then it loses its appeal.
Yeah the TH-cam algorithm prioritizes channels that post often. The nature of how long these vids take to make unfortunately doesn’t play well with it.
Even so, they are a wonder to watch.
Even with the algorithm against you I have no doubt you will fly past 100k soon. Who knows, you could eventually earn more from you tube then ferrying aircraft’s. Lol
Did i hear ye right ye said yer next craft was a 757 to fly do ye both fly boing&airbus and are allowed to switch back and fourth on them?????
@@kevincallaghan3212 yep they have a type rating in them all
This channel gives me some serious Parts Unknown vibes, and that’s in the best way possible, probably the best video in the series so far, Well done Steve 🙌
Huge compliment. AB was Definitely a major inspiration for me
Now that you mentioned it, yes, totally agree with this. it definitely has some Bourdain´s vibes. The way it is narrated, the editing, i absolutely adored AB and these series are one of my favorite things in YT. Congrats Steve. A viewer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Bob is a legend he reeks of worldwide widebody experience and big picture flying, love to fly with him and learn everything he knows!
It’s true - he’s seen it all!
Absolutely love these films. They make me realise that aviation is my passion and I'm so envious of what you guys do. I need to figure out how to change career paths into aviation.
Just do it!
Ya,I think I need a do over the last 25 years .
I love it that I get to combine my love of jazz and aviation videos in one sitting! Always quality output guys!
Hey! My ideal viewer right here!!
As a pilot on the Embraer for KLM we do some long(ish) days up to 11 hours / 4 legs a day and sometimes when I feel like complaining about another delay and long working day I think about you guys and know not to complain because goddamn you guys are next level! Thanks for making these videos, so great to see another side of our aviation world but I wouldn’t want to trade with you haha! You guys seem to enjoy it and congrats to making the business and the TH-cam channel such a succes. Cheers from a colleague at another crew hotel somewhere in Europe!
Steve your editing has reached a new bar of excellence! You have matched the music to the situation at hand. Well Done Sir! As always a great trip report.
Thank you! Always learning & improving
Steve, I cant thank you enough for blessing us with these movies... simply amazing
There's something ancient and poetic about Nomads returning to Egypt.
Good job playing that music, too. Multi-talented!
Love watching your adventures. Keep it coming!
Some of the best aviation videos out there. Thanks so much for your time and effort so that we can ride along.
I’ve probably watched all the older videos five times waiting for this, so hyped 🥳😆
I could legit watch these all day.
Another absolutely exceptional video Steve. I can imagine that a large part of the job is fairly monotonous... interspersed with some really interesting moments. You edit and film these flights fantastically, with just the right balance to keep the viewer engaged, and interested. This latest video must have been your longest upload to TH-cam by quite some margin. Thoroughly enjoyable, and the video finished after what felt like 5 mins. I wish you and Bob blue skies, direct routings, immediate take offs, and zero ATC delays for the future.
Much appreciated!
Continue to take care of your good peeps! Its EVERYTHING! Well done!
Wow Perfect Sunday afternoon for me, glass of wine and an hour of pure bliss , It’s been a long wait , but t totally worth it ,
Thanks Steve
Cheers!
Best Aviation Show on the Internet... just got done watching... and what an amazing adventure... i think i'm gonna go back and watch some of the older one... Always good to see you guys back in action... Cheers Steve and Bob.... sending you best wishes from LAX
Cheers man!! Will give you a buzz next time I’m out there
Just got back from putting around in the 172...soon as I get home I find this wet dream of a channel. I love it! Very fun to watch
This is the best channel on TH-cam or anywhere else for that matter. I can always patiently wait for the next adventure! 💕
Very much appreciated my friend
I'm a private pilot who was going to make it a career 25+ years ago, but decided against it as I couldn't afford the cost of training. I've been watching all kind of different types of flying contenct for years, but some how I found your channel about a week ago and just can't stop watching. This is my second go around on this episode. I never knew this type of business was out there. I just love the fact that you found this little sliver in aviation world and made an amazing business out of it. So cool...so jealous! Please keep up the content as it means I can live out my dreams thru you guys!
Your videos are always worth the wait! Looking forward to many more in the future (hopefully)!
These are so worth watching over !!!
As a first time viewer seeing 2 americans flying to places like India.. im so suprised (in a positive way) seeing how you guys embrace the culture and explore the places. Im now a subscriber :D!
Yeah - we travel to 50-60 countries per year and have been doing so for nearly 20 now. Still try to get out and about as much as possible. Thanks for the comments! Glad you enjoyed it
Never let the Keyboard Commandos get to you ! BY FAR the best aviation channel ever.. WELL DONE !
I don't know how you guys do it...fun to see you both in action. The JAZZ is perfect for your video, time lapses etc. I really enjoy this so much. I am sure this is a ton of work to put out this content on top of your job of flying around the world, but know its much appreciated. Thank you!!!! Continued safe skies for you and every one at Nomadic!
Thank you!!
I'm a tin basher here in Canada. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. Ferry pilots for the win, subscribed and sharing to all my plane friends, great videos don't change a thing
Appreciate that!!
My to loves combined: Jazz and aviation 😍
LOVE the technical deep dives on fuel systems and nav data
Big up Bob, I hate the Chemtrails as well. I'd like to file a minor complaint to the music editor at Nomadic! We started with a Hawaiian paradise sound track (right there is MK Ultra mind control, hypnotizing us right from the start) inter spliced with stf jazz, into cultural Indian music including the Zitar, a dash of mid west guitar, Spanish Flamingo (did I just snort speed) more mid west cowboy guitar, with a finger fret slider (must have been the long flight) playing out with staple stf Jazz. But no Egyptian belly dancers seducing us! Cleopatra needed to make an appearance for an authentic Nomadic Soul.
Damn. I must say, you got me there! I’ll try harder next time! 😂
Hey its your call sign, home of the Nomads, I thought you'd appreciate some criticism after 390 comments of gushing adoration. @@CockpitCasual
10/10 for the thumbnail ....looks like a movie poster
Stoked. Notification set.
What a cool-ass job you guys have. Holy crap.
Congratulations Steve, Bob and the rest of the team you are tied with Blancolirio as my #1 youtube channels. It is quite an accomplishment to keep up with Juan Browne. Good work.
‘Ah, now there’s lettuce in the speedbrake’. I love this film.
And you thought the NEO was “green” just because of its fuel efficiency!
Good on y’all treating your employees so well… I’m still early in my career in aviation as a A&P but one day I hope to be in a position like yours. Hopefully with a bit of time, right decisions, and hard work we will get there.
Tidy, sharp film as ever, and good to see proper music credits for proper music! Respect, and looking forward to the next one!
Thanks again for the very interesting ride(s) This is, hands down, the absolute best TH-cam channel in my opinion. Must be quite a job just to keep all those ratings up to date. My deepest respect for you being able to making these high quality videos among, I guess, all the stressful situations you might get into despite having a great support team. Thanks again.
Blown away by the content of your channel, absolutely amazing, it is because of channels like these I barely watch tv shows anymore.
Hell yeah Steve love your vídeos and this is honestly an inspiration for me.
Next week im getting training in the A320 and hopefully one Day I cam work for ya.
Sounds good! Good luck with training
This was a great video. Thanks for posting. I was born in Hyderabad. My dad was the first General Manager for the new Hyd airport. Great to see you take off from VOHS.
Nice! Really an interesting city
If you pay for the trip to India for a week, I'll STEAL a jet for you. I'm only type-rated for the 747-100, 200 and 300 in Flight Simulator (MS) but I'm willing to learn ;) (Nestle Crunch)
Thanks for letting me live vicariously. Really makes me wish I could actually pass a medical so I could do the same but this'll do otherwise.
After discovering your channel 4 months ago and promptly binging all the videos, I’ve been anxiously waiting for a new video. Worth the wait! Thanks Steve and Bob for bringing us along!
Kudos to Steve Sr for the jazz music. First time watching, very much enjoyed. Thank you!
I think that guy trying to sell you strawberries was my Walmart Customer support guy online. And I would agree with the other comments, this is a great channel. I just subscribed.
OMG...LMAO...
30:45 The laugh when you heard 7ft call-out haha XD. Brilliant work as always gents!
Bob cracks me up!
Finally, I have a Saturday night with no plans, no kids, to watch this hour-long video with a kick-ass bottle of wine and no disturbance from my phone! These guys are great, and I love their videos and tweets or X's. I can't wait until the next one. I recently sold my business in Scottsdale, not far from Bob's kneck of the woods, that would have been great running into him.....I'm in Mesa now. Great content Steve & Bob!
Thank you!!! Very much appreciated
this was a movie! not just an episode. loved every minute of it and how you manage to get us viewers to feel as if we are part of the trip right there next to y'all!
keep up the fantastic work!
Much appreciated
Amazining content, just saw Bob promoting this channel on his TikTok. Immediately subscribed.
Another Beautifully put together adventure Steve. I love these so much.. Cannot wait for more to come in the future.
The music makes it awesome! Your Dad is great!!!!!!!!!!!
My new favorite channel. Thanks guys. Just flat out excellent content, editing, background music and humor! Gosh, you guys are fortunate. I once had a successful business career, but health forced me to lose it all. So I don't get to travel anymore. And these videos give me at least some enjoyment. Thanks and God bless. And remember to be thankful for the life you were given, and worked hard for I'm sure. (Maybe some more cockpit and radio chatter clips? Fascinated by the difference in aircraft you must have to be familiar with, or at least figure out!) Would you like a videographer?!! Would love to.
BROOO! Love from India. So Bob, that guy with the gun is basically a security guard and thats a cash van coming to fill up the ATM with cash.
Love the jokes about our money being worthless after sometime, great to see it from your perspective, its actually to stop blackmoney and thus changing of currency from time to time so everyone has to deposit it in the bank, rather than financial or inflationary issues.
I was so happy you went out of your way to get the "real" experience with Paradise biryani, Next time your in India shoot on X or something well let you know where to go.
At this stage im fan boying so hard with this channel, ill pay you money to follow you around so you can make more great content like this. Thank you for this, ive pretty much rewatched everything after the latest update.
Happy and safe flying friend!
Thank you!! I think we will be back there a bunch next year to start collecting those GTF NEOs. Maybe we will see you around
Another mesmerising video.
Cannot get enough of these videos and the stories you tell.
The vibes, the jazz, the food, the views... all immaculate. Love this job
So glad to hear you're going to continue production! I've watched all of your videos a minimum of twice.
The Best Pilot Channel!!!!! no one comes close to you guys!
Hey Steve, I love the channel as an aviation geek. I tend to re-watch your videos in phases of two too three months and enjoy every minute of it. For me your videos are like stress busters.
Keep up the grind and never stop making aviation content.
Greetings from Canada🇨🇦
Really well done, and loved the music, too.
Another excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to share Steve.
I've loved watching your videos ever since you started a couple of years ago. Everytime you disappear for a while I think "OMG!! They've gone off-line and we won't see these amazing trips anymore." ...and then another trip pops up. Thanks for coming back and thanks for another superb video with Steve Sr.'s great music...
Cheers man!
Best aviation content on TH-cam by FARRRR....
Steve your videos are the best ones about aviation on You tube, they are so naturally and not inflated. Steve you have the most pleasant voice to listen to among all aviation videos that are shown on TH-cam. I have been in aviation for over 40 years and retired couple of years ago. Your videos bring back good memories from my days at NWA. I hope that you keep on producing these excellent videos together with the fabulous background jazz music for many more years to come
My wife will say that I don’t sound like that in real life! Lol. Thank you!!
Excellent stuff, well worth the wait. Thank you.
You made my day Steve. I love cockpit casuals. Thanks!
This is easily the best channel I’ve seen in a long time. Working towards my PPL right now with aspirations for my ATP! Absolutely love seeing a different view inside the aviation world. Thank you!
Fantastic channel! Subbed, keep up good work!
Another awesome Cockpit Casual Steve!!! I could watch these every week!!!
Love Bob! You'd expect him to say exactly "pilot" if you asked him his job
Yeah Bob is the goat
Great channel, it uplifts the young future pilots about aviation and world traveling. I'm retired 737 SW capt, started my career out of the USAF then flew for Janet Airlines, then Southwest. Great Ride!
You've said too much, expect my call. 😐
Janet!!!! All be.
Great channel with great tunes to carry the video! Looking forward to more of it!!
I am here for the jazz music. Well done.
Absolute gem of a video with some world class jazz! Thanks All!
Can't get enough of Steve and Bob. It's always a great day when we get a speedtape film.
I love the “Wings of Jazz” ! I think a new found admiration, thanks !
This channel is absolutely unbelievable. Art! A beautiful way of life man. I used to work on Oil Rigs and took plenty of great flights on banned airlines inbetween African cities. Got all the way to Bata in Equatorial Guinea, after basically peddling the 737-200 down the runway Flintstones style, only for our Helicopter to the rig to go Tech as they were setting the power. Sailed through a Tropical depression storm ex Chile en route to South Korea as well. Survived the storm, crossed the date line and the equator and enjoyed every second of it. Life is for living (and getting paid!)
Man, I always thought living on basically a boat that doesn’t move would make one go mad! That had to be rough huh?
Thanks btw!
@@CockpitCasual yeah would drive you crazy! It was like a short jail sentence. 11 weeks was my record stay and it was that bad I got 100% drunk when we got back onshore in Qatar and couldn't get my flight home, had to stay a day to sober up. Well worth it!
Another great episode. Man, pops and his band are sooooo good. The jazz is relaxing
Thank you for sharing your beautiful adventures
These videos just keep getting better!
Very enjoyable video
The music, always great!
Another great trip. And "the jazz"...fantastic backup...
I love your videos! Thank you! Well done !
So good to have you gents back!!
Opening TH-cam to see a new episode of Cockpit Casual is like being a kid on Christmas all over again. After 3 long years of instructing I'm finally heading to Regional training shortly so that maybe I can be half as cool as you guys one day! Love the videos. Thank you for them.
Congrats on the job!
@@CockpitCasual Thank you!
Thank you so much Steve!
As a career airline guy, the HI vacation for everyone at the company you provided looked so incredible. That is exactly the type of thing that is going to make your company successful. I've had my eye on NMD for a while and maybe one day I'll throw my name in the hat for charters with the 5 different types I have on my cert. Keep the videos coming man! Great work!
👍🏼👍🏼 thanks man. Yeah that was a good spend that trip…
Definitely one of the best videos i have ever watched, so engaging you feel like you’re really there! Keep up the good work
Waking up to another hour long Cockpit Casual? Hell yeah!
Another gem Steve, thank you!!
