While at Bartow, Amphibians Plus, David had a lengthy discussion with Chris and the other mechanics, and managed to get a good handle on the status of 46DT Mooney Ovation. I enjoyed chatting with a few of the people I know, and seeing Harry again is always good. After a few hours spent David and I departed KBOW on RWY 23 and opted for the RNAV 31 into Leesburg.
I am getting comfortable with the G1000 equipment but it takes some practice to get reoriented. The flight to home base was good with little traffic to be of concern on the way. David was happy to have spent the necessary time with the crew and as a result will get additional work done on the Mooney

Well David suggested we fly to Bartow to check on the progress made with his aircraft, a Mooney Ovation, before returning to Leesburg. We flew at low altitude through the Military Operations Area we encountered enroute to Bartow. I forgot to connect the camera and I activated it after takeoff, so therefore the engine noise is heard. We departed RWY 34 at River Ranch and landed on RWY 23 at Bartow.

On Sunday morning after Church, I departed for Leesburg, on August 11, to meet my friend Stuart CFI for a checkout flight. It's been about 3 years since I have flown the 182 and never out of SUNAIR. In less than one hour we managed to complete the requirements including steep turns, power on/off stalls, emergency procedures, and 3 touch and go landings at KLEE. This aircraft was the S model 182.

Bob and Al met at 8 AM to keep a 9 AM appointment with Central Florida Avionics and Instruments LLC at KLEE. We had a good, and short but busy flight with several aircraft in the pattern. We opted to save time by not shooting the RNAV 13 approach. Our radios were noisy again which interfered with communications from the tower.

AFter lunch at David's Igloo, a new restaurant since Eagle Lake Diner was closed for vacation, the Lake was ready and we departed RWY 27 for the flight home to X04. There was ample traffic near Apopka and we had to fly a 360 pattern for spacing, but Bob made a fine landing. We opted for RNAV B approach to RWY 33 at X04.

After a lengthy but good breakfast at the Eagle Lake Diner, we returned to the airport to Amphibians Plus after using their borrowed truck, which they loaned as a courtesy while the aircraft was under maintenance. They hydraulic pressure switch was reset and the oil change was done, and it was time to depart for the trip to Apopka. We opted for the RNAV A approach and landed on RWY 15.

After a relaxing afternoon, lunch provided by Bob, and some general yard cleanup, we departed to the east on Lake Kerr for our return to Apopka. We opted for RWY 15 for the return trip, carefully monitoring an aircraft using RWY 33, during our RNAV A approach to RWY 15. We were both glad the Restricted Areas surrounding Lake Kerr were cold all day to permit seaplane operations.
