    Robin Zander was one of the very few lead singers from the MTV era who could actually perform in videos without looking totally out of his element... Gahh, I'm having flashbacks of how many rock stars didn't know how to play to a camera.

    Just saw them play this last month. And Robin doesn't take it down even a half step. How many singers from as far back as the freakin 70s do that? Zero that's how many. The man is vocal genius.

    • @brightbite
      @brightbite 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      One thing I can tell you (as a vocalist myself) is that he concentrates on hitting the notes, rather than straining to REACH them. He remains focused in sound with each note, no pushing. I don't know if he has had training, but whatever he is doing is masterful! :)

    This song used to get heavy play on MTV in the early 80s. And at the time I assumed it was a pretty big hit but in fact it didn’t make much of a dent in the American charts. Still, it’s a damn cool song even to this day.

      benclark27 odd how many people don't know how true this is. Sucks that the vast majority only know these guys for I Want You To Want Me, Surrender and The Flame. Just goes to show having a good manager and a label that understands you is oh so important. Cheap Trick and the vast majority of their catalog of music, should be known far and wide. When people say, they don't like Cheap Trick, I always say, well if all you know them for is the Flame and I Want You To Want Me, you just don't know enough about them to say you like or dislike them.

All super talented at wat they do and have made their mark for good.

    This is the first video I ever saw. It was on MTV. Back then, if you even knew someone with cable you were cool. If you had cable you were really, really lucky. And if you had MTV, well your life rocked !!!
