For everyone who's curious Doug Fieger, 25 at the time (the singer) fell in love with a girl from a clothing store named Sharona Alperin, 17 at the time, but they were both in relationships at the time. He broke up with his girlfriend and went after Sharona. They were messing around, although she was still in a relationship.
