My friends been doing this for years . You don’t need that silicone thing. She’s used a button or coin and cover it with an elastic band to cinch in waist. Same effect.Girls been doing this since the fifties.
How wonderful. Never heard of it. I was born in 1950 in New England.
I’m thinking those shirt extenders would be very easy to sew! It would only take elastic, some garage-sale men’s button ups and a spare hour or two.
I'm 81, overweight, and wear leggings. Nobody even registers old people. We become part of the furniture, except to other oldies like ourselves. I wear exactly what I want, and it's mostly very colourful. I need to cheer myself up.
I think if you dress classy, you'd be surprised how many of us register older people. There's little more elegant and classy than a put together senior.

Nothing is effortless, my dear. We have to take the time to put things together to have a stylish look.
The shirt extenders make me smile because those were popular during the early-2000s when low-rise trousers were the prevailing cut. Women who weren’t comfortable wearing a low-rise cut wore the shirt extenders to cover the low-rise cut and prevent unintentional “plumber’s crack” that happens with low-rise.

I’m 63, tall & of normal weight. I just discovered Lularoe leggings purchased at a thrift store. I have about 5 w/colorful patterns I wear now all winter long with sweaters, boots & fleecewear. I went from a career wearing formal office attire to being a retiree wearing comfortable clothing. LOVE the neon shirt!
I have fibromyalgia and frequently wear the Lularoe leggings and tops. Comfortable when active or when resting.
I am also a big fan of LulaRoe & especially the leggings and wear them often for several years now. I just turned 66. And that’s where I learned the cinching styiing tricks using a hair tie. Because they sell a lot of loose clothes. But I think this little doodad might hold more securely, so I would like to get it.

Thanks for the tips and links! I just turned 60 and struggle to find things that fit me well as I am 5'6" and weigh about 113 lbs. I ordered the Cinch it and hope it will help give my clothes a nice fitted look.
What an interesting, cool little gadget. Why didn't I think of that! LOL All these years I've been using a clear hair elastic to put under my shirts to create this same look.
I am still using those plastic disk for making a traditional bra a racer back bras. They work fine, or for heavier fabric, I use a bangle bracelets and a hair tie.

I just subscribed! I’m 68, 4’ 9”, and 100 lbs. I’ve been sick for 20 years with BII (breast implant illness), mold toxicity, a mini stroke that left me extremely fatigued all day, every day, infections from my weakened immune system,
latent infections that resurfaced, lots of autoimmune diseases, 4 surgeries within 10 months, and now I was just diagnosed with Lyme co-infections, and have a poorly healing broken shoulder.
I’m so sick of looking pasty, and I want a life!
These suggestions are quite good, and I think I’m going to try the cinch and the cami tunic. I need one with a padded bra in it because my left breast was disfigured in a car accident two weeks post-op after my explant surgery. But, overall, I got some good tips from you. Thank you. 💕
Thanks for the tips. I'm 67 but I still find your video helpful. I like tunics, long shirts over leggings. I just don't like myself in shorter tops even though I see younger women doing this all the time. I feel naked. lol But I have noticed that it's getting harder to find the longer tops. I keep looking in thrift stores and ebay. As far as extenders, I do have a few flowy tank tops I can wear under other shorter tops.
Why? Thick leggings with a shorter top is OK.

@@floweryasset I completely understand. I used to think of leggings as just being drab and ugly. But I have seen so many stylish outfits with them, especially with flared high waisted leggings...I am just nit sure what I think about athletic wear any more. But even just the typical college girls outfit of black leggings, doc Martens and a cropped t shirt CAN look elegant on some people.

I love the top you're wearing! I'm 5'3" and a lot of times to get a tee shirt to fit right over the bust, tee shirts are way too long and are shapeless. I don't want to hem them so the 'cinch-it' would be a great idea! Thanks!

I wear a lightweight tank top to make up for the length of a top.
I co-ordinate the color with the top I want to wear.
I wear leggings all the time and love all the ideas! The shirt extender is new to me.

I literally thought just yesterday I need something to help cinch up a tunic I had bought. My mind went back to those circular plastic rings my sister had in the late 80s early 90s that cinched up t-shirts. I literally thought surely someone's improved upon that. And you found it!!

Your comment brought back a memory of a friend of mine in college 8in the 80s who had a total meltdown when she wore a white shapeless tunic dress. We were heading out to a dance club and her self image was immediately shot when she saw herself in the mirror. I didn't know (or could even afford) any handy gadgets like the cinch ring, so I instructed her on how to tie a nice looking knot to make the tunic a bit more form fitting. I forget if it worked or not. 😆 Ironically, I spent the next 30 years in the fashion industry.

Those little lace slip shirt extenders were on shark tank many many years ago by a company called Grace and lace. They had a really interesting story. Look them up just for kicks. Great video by the way.

I bought a very cute golf skirt on Amazon. Removed the under shorts. Bought matching leggings , which I can now wash separately from the skirt.
Oh my goodness Angela, thank you so much for discovering the Cinch It. I have been using the old quarter and rubber band trick. I have so many longer tops that no longer look current but I don’t want to get rid of. This is perfect. Love your videos!💕
I prefer the rubber band trick it's less bulky. I've not made any shirt extenders yet but I think they are an Ideal cover it up solution.

I love the tunic cami. Those are adorable. And the long shirt thing. I have never seen anything like that. But those are something I need. I like to wear leggings in the winter. Once summer hits, I’m wearing Bermuda shorts. Wether they are in style or not. My legs aren’t the best so I feel more comfortable in the longer shorts. I’m 63 and I don’t need to be wearing short shorts.

Very cute solutions when it's cooler outside and inside. But I need for my first layer to be able to stand alone as well for summer and when I get hot in doors. I like the cinch clip idea best.

Congratulations on the 75,000 mile stone. Since I just recently subbed. I am proud to be part of the process helping you to get there. Way to go. I was fascinated by these shirt extenders, so to say. I never knew they existed. Thank you. I have search online & can't find anything that can be slipped-on under or over pant legs, at knee-high distance from the bottom of the pant leg to add a few inches of length to jeans/pants. I found waiste extenders galore, but I'd rather come at the situation from the bottom. Please, let me know if you come across any. For now, I guess I'll continue making my own. My hands don't work so well with all the sewing needed, though. Thank you. Take care.

Well, I have spent the 3NTIRE NIGHT last night SEARCHING for the skirted Kami using every search word you mentioned and searched five different stores and could not find that item but I can easily make it with fabric and a t-shirt.

This is the first of your videos that I’ve seen, and I love it! I’m going to get a couple of the shirt extenders and give them a try. There’s one thing that I wish you’d address, though. I’m short and somewhat overweight. So many times the “hide your extra weight” problem isn’t addressed. You are so talented, I wish you’d help us with that. By the way, I’m 71.

Where does one buy the cami and the extender?
Leggings only work for me in April and October. From November-March they aren't warm enough, from May-September they're too hot.
I wear them as winter pajamas and long johns

I’m not sophisticated enough to use the shirt extender or the silicon cinch maker, my shirt extender would end up too low and look like a shirt, but my booty would be out, and I’d loose that cinch thingy as soon as I sat down and didn’t make sure not to pull on it. Remember those round plastic devices that had a bar across the middle, kind of looked like 🚫 and we took the edge of our T shirt, and threaded int thru the back, over the middle piece, then pushed it back thru to the back again. I liked those because it cinched up one corner to give the waist some lift.

I have 3 pairs of leggings that I only wear at home with a sweatshirt or longer sweater. I don't have tunic tops. I only have to worry about the front since the rear is parked in my wheelchair. The shirt extenders are a good idea.

For the tunic tops with a low neckline, use a piece of lace and pin across the V..saves wearing extra clothes when it's hot and looks like you have a camisole on..
