Hello, can you please tell me what you used to record with the video assist, because mine does not work with SSD or SD.

this looks sooo good.. my s5 should be here tomorrow but ill not bother with the 6k video for atleast a year, by then the s5ii should be out and be able to do it all internally, so if i get a year out of it professionally i will be happy.

Thanks! And congrats, it’s a fantastic camera, especially for the price point. If the next version can do raw internally I’ll definitely upgrade without hesitation.

@@brandonrude man, it arrived today and the menu is complex... baby steps i think.

@@jimgiraffe5253 Hah yeah I was a bit overwhelmed at first, especially coming from the Pocket 4K. Check out the channels of Sam Holland and Josh Cameron, they both have some great videos about the menu system and settings. I have C1 set up for 24p, C2 for 60p, and C3 for shooting external raw. Saves a ton of time.

@@brandonrude ive had a lumix fz150 bridge cam since 2012 and this is a huge step up. i think ive watched most reviews so far but tomorrow i will sit and learn each mode and its capability... im mostly going to be doing timelapses, some 4k vids then some still in that order

    Beautiful
    Still deciding: S5 or GH6
    Ninja V or BRAW

I'm a Pocket 4K user so the GH6 probably would have been the smarter move but part of me really wanted to see what this full frame life was all about, that and how small the S5 is. I'm also a PC and Davinci Resolve guy, so for me BRAW was what made sense. The Ninja V is attractive though as it's significantly cheaper. Real talk though I don't think you can go wrong with any of these combinations.

@@brandonrude And do you prefer FF now over MFT ?
PC / Resolve Studio here as well
Makes additional costs are minimum a MacBook Air M1 FCPX if going ProRes RAW

@@dark-california I feel like I can definitely see the difference in resolution, but I don't know if that's always a good thing. I really like this combination of the S5+VA, but if I had to choose between the image of the internal codec from the S5 vs the P4K, I'd choose the P4k. I think the latter just has a nicer, more organic "look" to it. But that's also due to the 12 bit vs 10 bit files too of course.
On the whole I haven't been like, "yes this makes all difference, this is what I was looking for." If I upgrade the P4K I'll definitely look at Super 35 sensors too.

      Z-Cam S6
      Sony FX-30

gh6 for 18-35. or wait for a new s5 mkII. if they release a s5 update with better specs in 4K (same as gh6°) it will be a killer.
gh6 has bright future with stab and specs .I had same choice and i found a used s5 and i bought it for 1100€ didn't regret , but loosing the power of the 18-35 sigma.
but my FD lens on S5 give me better results on FF. and meike 35 T2.1 is magic but expensive.
      Whereas i have a ton of magic lens on gH5 (0.95) 25/17 mm .

What ISO was this shot at?

    • @brandonrude
      @brandonrude  ปีที่แล้ว

That was shot at 4000. I basically try only shoot at the native ISO. Had to do some noise reduction in post since I was shooting in raw.
