    I think it's best to buy a second one so u could put on on as soon as u remove the one in your vehicle and clean the one that's dirty while having a fresh one in and do this repeatedly
    Put the other filter in a closed boxed container to keep clean. And for future use

      This is what I do as well. This way you’re not stuck waiting for the filter to dry in case you need to go somewhere.

      @@tattooadventuresso once you clean it and have it oiled how long can it sit before I use it. Say I have 2 filters and cleaned one and put the other in truck. Is the clean one okay to wait till other is dirty

      Exactly that’s what I do . Every oil change I clean out the filter and put clean one on

    I add an extra step by cleaning the maf a week after cleaning the filter. Some of the oil can work its way past the filter and on to the maf

    Great vid. Good detail and very informative. I remember back in the 90s when I first starting using them. I only had the paper instructions and had to figure it out myself. Glad you doing this for new truck enthusiasts.

    Thanks for sharing. I hate doing this on my dirt bikes, I would never do it on my cars, but I bought a truck with one one it. So much simpler and better to just stick with a stock air filter.

    Nice vid!
    Seems having a few clean filters to change out would be best so a quick change could be done while properly cleaning the dirty one.
    Thanks for the tutorial, well done! :)

  • @williamfry6087
    @williamfry6087 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Maybe a good idea to have 2 filters. While one sits on your work bench to be cleaned you can still drive with the 2nd one!

    I let my filter sit on my counter for two days before installing. It’s probably been about two or three weeks and I checked the filter and it was dripping a bit. Should I be concerned?

  • @bclaricepaul
    @bclaricepaul 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you have a check air filter code pop up on your truck after you installed it. I have the GMC version of your truck.

    • @willchang7178
      @willchang7178 หลายเดือนก่อน

      no, you want the dirt/grime to exit out so only rinse it from the inside out.

    I had a K&N years ago. It cost more to clean it than what an OEM filter cost. And I never saw any benefit from it. Just watched a video that showed less than a 3% improvement over the stock filter.

    • @majordudley35
      @majordudley35 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Costs more to clean it? I’ve had the same filter for years and cleaned it multiple times with the same bottles of cleaner and oil that came with it. Doesn’t cost anything

    • @unti419
      @unti419 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@majordudley35 OK let's do the math. I bought my car with a K&N filter already installed, No oil or cleaning kit included. It was in bad shape. The cheapest cleaning kit cost $19.95 on Amazon. The new filter costs anywhere from $9.95 to $15.52 on Amazon for the OEM filter. I try to keep the Caddy OEM as possible.
      I can change the OEM filter in a few minutes. I wish to not wash this filter out and apply new oil for the little bit of performance it may provide. If I say the cost of time and effort are not worth it, I stand by that statement. Your opinion may vary, I'm good with that. Best wishes.
