That 300 hp V6 engine is a beast. Faster than a V8 from only 6 years ago! Matches up in speed with the R/T Hemi from the challenger. This alone makes the V6 Mustang with a Manual transmission something to consider if you are primarily going to use it as a daily driver.
Ultimate daily driver imo. I have a '12 3.7 with the 6 speed manual. The nice thing about it is that you can use every bit of that power and not be overwhelmed, and certainly not underwhelmed either, plenty of power for most people. But, my weekend car is a '15 GT manual because, c'mon... That sound... And let's be honest it just truly flies.
I have a 2016 v6 Ford Mustang. I got it in January. Absolutely love it. Yeah I wish I had a bigger engine. More power. But I'm 18. I have plentyyy of time to upgrade my car, or even better, save up for an even faster car! For now, my car gives me the joy & fun I deserve. I worked hard for it!
Hey buddy. I really like mustang and I truly care about the rear seat capacity. Most time I drive by myself and just occasionally friends will take my car and i need rear seat then. How is the rear seat just for occasional use? Does rear seat fit for people like 5'7"? THX man and your channel has already subscribed
I personally love your flippant/casual review style. Gets things across while sounding simple and approachable, as if we were having casual conversations grabbing lunch together. Love your review style. Keep it up, man.
I literally bought the V6 blue 2015 mustang tonight and it is a dream. really perfect imo. the new shape is so much better than the previous. looks muscular.
Micah, turned my 2007 BMW 3 series daily driver w. 167k miles for a 2017 Mustang GT 5.0 V-8 w. 6SPD Manual w. only 20k miles and absolutely LOVE IT!!! Fantastic review!
The review was balanced with pros and cons but, I didn't like Micah's humor, it comes off cheap and insulting to anyone interested in the Mustang and there were nothing on how it compares to Camaro and Challenger.
This reviewer is too condescending, cutesy and pompous. Calling the ecoboost version "adorable" I had to stop the video. He has the attitude equivalent of "I just stepped out of my Bentley to play with these cheap toys." Having some flare in your personality is not such a bad thing, but tighten it up KBB, this guy is a clown. This new mustang deserves a more serious reviewer.
This is the Mustang here, a car that has bread ignorance and mullets for years. it deserves a review with some playful banter, for fucks sake it's a Ford.
My preferred car choice is camaro but I do love mustangs regardless of what ford or Chevy owners may say, anybody driving either of the two has my respect. Along with dodge. Glad merica is still putting out the muscle everyone loves and enjoys. Cheers!
Had my Ecoboost for a little over a week now and couldn't be happier. Best of both worlds. Classic muscle car design with refined additions. Ford did right by this little pony. Ohhhhh yes.
Hey Micah!! your best review to date, and yes I was one of your critics but you have done an amazing review here...Ford take notice, don't let this guy stay with KBB ;) Cheers!
Micah, I like your commentaries/wit...too many auto reviewers get way to carried away/serious. You deliver all the information and cover all the points; yet keep the video light and refreshing... keep it up! Now, for the Mustang: Being a Baby Boomer, the new Mustangs are beautiful! Back in the Sixties & Seventies, I preferred the Camaro (just wasn't a huge Ford fan)... but now, the new Mustangs, I think greatly outshine the Camaro... a very nice balance of classic/retro appearance blended with contemporary technology and engineering.
I'm not a fan of the mustang but I really like how you review the vehicles that you present for Kelley Blue Book. Especially the Chevy SS review that you came up with.
as a student about to turn 16, i am glad that this new model isn't as sporty as the old ones, so when i get my last gen mustang used, it will still be loved by many, i enjoy the raw truck bottom and power, the new one is not for me yet, until then, the prices of the 2011 models will go down, because, after all, the generation is over.
Awesome review, love the jokes to make muscle heads madd xP haha~ Love this car. After sitting in one at a recent autoshow Iv decided to start saving for one, I cant wait! Buy used all my life, but this is a baby I want from day one :D.
I use to be a big fan of STis and EVOs but now I really want the new mustang gt. The mustang has never been more appealing to me than now, especially that Roush mustang.
I'm 6'6" with most of my length in my torso. Do I have much chance of fitting into this car? Ford's website said it only has 37.6" of headroom, and I don't really fit in the 38.5" that I currently have.
I drove one a few weeks back. Im 6'2 and my leg room was good. I wouldnt recommend it for people taller than me. It was a fun drive but I can only imagine how it would be for you hitting a bump on the road. If I remember I had just under 3 inches from my head to the roof. Hope this helped
Frederick Young It did actually. For me, 3 inches of spare headroom while sitting at full height would be wonderful. I guess I could always go to a dealership and see if they'll just let me sit in one.
xAFKNinjax I feel like that would be rude and a waste of their time... just going over to them to simply sit in one. But I'm new to this, so I don't know.
I'm pretty bummed that they dont offer nicer packages on the V6. I dont think I'd be happy with the sound coming out of the cutely named "ecoboost". I really love this car and seriously considering about buying one...yet there is one concern, is the space of the back seats really that small? I have been in a two doors four seats car before and I didnt actually feel that much uncomfortable, I believe the one I have been in was Honda Civic couple
Wentao Feng Unlike conventional coupes such as the Honda Civic or BMW 4 Series, the Mustang, along with most modern muscle cars, is classified as a 2+2 body style. Simply put, the rear seats are designed for limited use only.
This has got to be the best looking Mustang of all time. My only problem is the front view but then if u look at the front at an angle it looks cool, I really dont get it
6ghosrider in the UK the Mustang will cost $51000 basic so... I could buy 2 in the US, give you one:))) the cheaper eco boost one as I would select the 5l V8:)
A couple of short observations: When you talk about how the Mustang used to suffer under a live axle, you showed a clip of a late model Shelby GT500... which had an independent rear suspension. Also, in the premium leather trim, the seat coolers do cool the seat back as well as the seat bottom.
I'm pretty sad that Ford decided not to offer any options on the V6. I know that its because they really wanted to push the ecoboost, but I still think it was a poor move on their part because I'm sure a lot of people will choose another car to buy with better options. Sweet looking car, but I think I'll pass and go with a wrx instead. Great review KBB.
I want to know is it safe to drive I’m going for the 2015 mustang v6, but all of my friends tell me it’s bad because it will lose control and i wont be able to control it. So should i ditch it?
The 2015 Ford Mustang Is A Specfic Edition Of Ford Mustang (Sixth Generation) Who Succeds (Fifth Generation) ProducedBy Ford Motor Company Since 1964 Was Presented In 2014 Detroit Motor Show
Not a bad review. it might just be me....but this car has lost its manliness over the years. its moving further and further away from the car you would wake up as a kid and run downstairs to help dad clean the carbs and wash to then hit road for a testosterone filled joy ride. He even said "make noise when I want you to make noise" to a V8 then "its adorable ..kinda like driving a Honda civic" NOW.. say what you want, but these cars nowadays with their comfort settings because of "WEAK HANDS" ugh... and automation are directed to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians generation. I'll pass.
The "weak arms" comment was mostly me making fun of myself but if it makes you feel better you can also increase the Mustang's steering efforts. Do that in a manual-equipped V8 with stability control deactivated and the experience should be decently manly. No carbs to clean though.
***** don't get me wrong... my comment was not aimed at you. you did your job. the sarcasm was on point and my disgust was due to the accuracy of your review. You highlighted the lowfat feel of the car and that's why I spoke on the low sperm count this car possesses. Trust me..i know that's how this car wants you to describe it. lol keep up the good work.
ingineous Thanks, ingineous! And no worries, I didn't take offense at your comment. I absolutely get where you're coming from. The era of unrefined but badass cars might be at an end but at least we have 700+ horsepower Hellcats and a nutso $80k Z06 to console us.
The comments are pretty funny. It's like reading the complaints of when rotary phones were given keypads. You can always takeout things you dont want, everything is just bolts, screws, and wires, just like the 60s Mustangs.
i will always love mustangs, i have one and so does my dad (who has owned multiple over the years). i love all the tech that comes with these new ones (even the toggle switches that can also be found in the Ford GT(hmm hmm. not just the mini) and i'm even liking the 2.3 liter more than i thought. the only thing i don't like is the look. it looks like a really big Genesis coupe. the way the window and rear quarter window meet up together. also the way its (to sleek in my opinion) roof comes down to almost meet the end of the trunk. it just looks to much like a foreign car than an American classic to me.
Ah I have a 67 Mustang too... And I just sold my 2014 GT for a 50th anniv 2015 limited edition. I was never a fan of the 64 1/2 to 66 style... Which the 2014 was imitating. I have always liked the 67-70 years the best... Which is why I do prefer the 2015. Functionally, this 2015 is like driving a refined Porsche compared to the 2014... And the 3.71 final drive gear is just beautiful.
The base V6 model and the EcoBoost premium makes this a really hard decision on what I want to buy... One one hand I can get a V6 instead of a 4 cylinder (and i love a loud engine), but the eco has a turbo boost though.. and the eco has heated and cooled seat options and has a premium addition (which is the whole reason what makes this decision difficult).. if only the GT wasn't so damn high so i could have both of best worlds.. Anyone a really big car expert and/or test drove all three models (V6, ECO, GT) and can give me any reasons why a V6 or Eco would be a better choice of the two?
You can not get upgrades on the v6, not even foglights. It's the total base but still new mustangs have the best standard options. The ecoboost is actually a little faster. If you want more than just push to start/remote start, Backup camera, paddle shifters, steering modes, etc go for an Eco. Driving them will let you decide
I got the V6 with the only package option it had which gives u the nicest rims of any of the models, decklid spoiler and fog lights. I love my v6 and with my axleback exhaust i am just as fast if not faster than a stock ecoboost and it sounds amazing. The cloth seats r way more comfortable than the leather seats as well, my friend has a black eco premium
You are right.. ill keep my old mustang with the truck rear end and plastic interior! Lol!! Not so fond of the exterior styling yet, but maybe it will grow on me. The interior looks great though!!
How do you determine it is the "sixth generation"? Are we going by platform or bodystyle? If we're using the basic platform to determine the generation, then it would be the 5th generation. First gen was the Falcon-based 1964-1973. Second was the Pinto-based 1974-1978. Third was the Fairmont-based 1979-2004 (the SN-95 was basically a slightly modified Fox-there weren't enough significant changes to warrant a separate designation), Fourth was the 2005-2014 S-197 platform. Therefore, the '15 and up would technically make this one the fifth generation. Now, if we're talking bodystyle changes, then this would be the 12th gen, give or take. :)
Those switches were also in the Ford GT and mustang is originally inspired after an old plane, but yes it's a Mini Cooper switch they invented those lol
I was being sarcastic when I said Mini Cooper invented the switches, and yes you are correct those switches were inspired by old WW plains which was my point, those switches are inspired by old WW plains Mini and Mustang are not coping each other
That is deep impact blue. Judging by the date of the video, the cars are 2015s, and deep impact blue was the only blue offered that year. Lightening blue only became available starting with the 2017 models.
SouthPaw Haha yeah i had to keep waiting to get mine so ive seen like every video now. Just so you know though in a few months the 2017 refresh is coming out soon for the car
Hey dumbass, uou can also see the doors are open. If you know anything about cars most likely with all those lights on it means that the car is in the on position and is not started. Just showing features. STOP HATING you watched this video for a reason lol you know you like it!!!!!😆😲
I really like this guy. Something much different than the norm, and if you guys removed the stick up your collective sphincters you would probably laugh at a lot of his quips. Thanks for the informative and entertaining review.
It's a Mustang that looks like a modern interpretation, quirky bits & in GT form every bit as powerful. If the 2.3 Ecoboost was cheaper, than even the FR-S becomes a afterthought. I'd get one, then dial the boost to 11 to make V8 owners cry XD.
WarmSoftKitty Well, yes. But then I feel stupid for saying "as well as the heads, the manifolds, reprogram the ECU, beef the clutch...etc. etc." Sometimes in life, you don't need to spell every last character to know what someone is getting at.
WarmSoftKitty Everyone has their own views; I love how NA engines sound (especially the 911 GT3) but never underestimate turbo I4s. (The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG & Mitsubishi Evo comes to mind) Regarding your point; probably true. However, the hp gained/dollar value would definitely be higher than that of the 5.0 V8 regardless of argument; it's much easier to extract power from a FI motor than a NA motor.
MechHead Naga GMG In terms of fun for the buck, probably. But I still insist on more power (~250hp), The problem I have with the FR-S is a current day hot hatch like Focus ST and Golf GTI can easily beat it from a standstill. You do get a great chassis this side of a Lotus Elise, but I'd still hate myself if a Civic SI beats me off a line in my "rwd sports car".
WarmSoftKitty you are right about the sound, but the 300hp turbo 4 in the new Golf R has already seen 400hp and torque with just a ecu tune alone. And this ecoboost has .3L's on that engine. Personally if I were going to get a turbo 4 I'd get the golf R, mustang is V8 all the way.
My parents are offering to get me this car when I turn 18. Should i get it or should i get a cheaper car and wait till i get more driving experience to get this car?
I was always driving my parents car when i was 18 so getting my mustang at 19 for a first car was not bad at all only irresponsible kids who don't value the cars their parents by them crash.
TehZured At 18 nah that seems like way to much power. He would need performance training first and even then still dangerous. I mean Mustangs are known as crowd mower's for a reason.
....the drop in the rear roof what didn't sit right with me...almost have the Camero look to it with a touch of Charger rear end! Mustang's need to stay and look like a Mustang...overall, the car is still amazing!
i love the pony car wars. with ford, dodge, and chevy battling it out trying to have the best muscle car they are constantly improving them all and giving up better and better cars to drive. im a huge mustang fan but i have to thank the camaro and challenger because without them i dont think we would have the beast of a mustang we do today. competition is always good for consumers.
Good video. What came to mind for me was the price and options of the Mustang vs the price and options of the Focus ST. Disappointed to hear the cooled leather seats only cool the bottom. I wonder how loaded one can get a Focus ST for the price of a Mustang Ecoboost.
Can't wait to pick mine up!! People that don't like it... simply don't have to get it lol. There is a car out there for everyone's taste.

Simon Gurry I know
Simon Gurry That’s awesome! Hopefully the CO2 tax isn’t too much over there for that 5.0 Coyote powered Mustang GT.
Less muscle car, more sports car = New Mustang Not a bad thing, it is what it is. Challenger looks to be the last true muscle car left.
i guess, i wouldn't want one unless it was a scat pack or srt or whatever with the larger engine.
The charger is nice but I’m kinda liking the mustang looks better. The bad thing is if you have kids you kinda have to lean towards the chargers.
That 300 hp V6 engine is a beast. Faster than a V8 from only 6 years ago! Matches up in speed with the R/T Hemi from the challenger. This alone makes the V6 Mustang with a Manual transmission something to consider if you are primarily going to use it as a daily driver.
The manual can keep up with a newer auto GT just fine. it gets embarrassing
Ultimate daily driver imo. I have a '12 3.7 with the 6 speed manual. That kind of snark stems from Jeremy Clarkson-syndrome.
He drives a CRV, what else can you expect?
Yea, he's a bit condescending here. However, that's how everyone who doesn't own a mustang views those who do.
Love the exterior design of the 2015. Best the mustang has ever looked

The 2015 Ford Mustang Is A Specfic Edition Of Ford Mustang (Sixth Generation) Who Succeds (Fifth Generation) ProducedBy Ford Motor Company Since 1964 Was Presented In 2014 Detroit Motor Show
im thinking of leasing for 2 years. How to negotiate for the best deal? Ecoboost vs Ecoboost premium?
I have loved every KBB video till date, EXCEPT THIS ONE !!!!
the track apps come in all models?? even the V6 and the ecoboost?
Not a bad review. it might just be me....but this car has lost its manliness over the years. its moving further and further away from the car you would wake up as a kid and run downstairs to help dad clean the carbs and wash to then hit road for a testosterone filled joy ride. He even said "make noise when I want you to make noise" to a V8 then "its adorable ..kinda like driving a Honda civic" NOW.. say what you want, but these cars nowadays with their comfort settings because of "WEAK HANDS" ugh... and automation are directed to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians generation. I'll pass.
100% agree this is just a fusion
The "weak arms" comment was mostly me making fun of myself but if it makes you feel better you can also increase the Mustang's steering efforts. Do that in a manual-equipped V8 with stability control deactivated and the experience should be decently manly. No carbs to clean though.
***** don't get me wrong... my comment was not aimed at you. you did your job. the sarcasm was on point and my disgust was due to the accuracy of your review. You highlighted the lowfat feel of the car and that's why I spoke on the low sperm count this car possesses. Trust me..i know that's how this car wants you to describe it. lol keep up the good work.
ingineous
Thanks, ingineous! And no worries, I didn't take offense at your comment. I absolutely get where you're coming from. The era of unrefined but badass cars might be at an end but at least we have 700+ horsepower Hellcats and a nutso $80k Z06 to console us.
***** lol you are right. Gotta keep em alive man...we have to!
That raked look is something the Mustangs pioneered in the late, late 60s and early 70s. Take a look at the 1967 fastback and you'll see what I mean.
i agree-- the car is getting to sleek-- in my opinion, the 2010-2014 models are the sweet spot-- muscular and modern--
Ah I have a 67 Mustang too...
Lol everyone's saying they love the car but hate the guy who reviewed it. I think he was hilarious and did a good review.
Great review. I really like to see actual pro's and cons, rather than just gushing over that car.
Great review, I love this guy
Ok, so I just bought a Mustang, but I am still not sure with the controls and the RPM. Also what is the base price?
I own a 2015 eco-boost and it’s amazing
Pretty good honest review.
It's the total base but still
new mustangs have the best standard options. The ecoboost is actually a little faster. If you want more than just push to start/remote start, Backup camera, paddle shifters, steering modes, etc go for an Eco. Driving them will let you decide
+Jorgeicr8 Lmfao I have foglights on my V6
I got the V6 with the only package option it had which gives u the nicest rims of any of the models, decklid spoiler and fog lights. I love my v6 and with my axleback exhaust i am just as fast if not faster than a stock ecoboost and it sounds amazing. The cloth seats r way more comfortable than the leather seats as well, my friend has a black eco premium
MONEY MAN540 it depends on what you want and what kind of driver you are. i picked the v6.
Jorgeicr8 lol what are you talking about sir, all the mustangs come with fog lights
Those switches were also in the Ford GT and mustang is originally inspired after an old plane, but yes it's a Mini Cooper switch they invented those lol
no, no they didn't. those switches were put in the mini because it was inspired by the WWII fighters that used them.
I was being sarcastic when I said Mini Cooper invented the switches, and yes you are correct those switches were inspired by old WW plains which was my point, those switches are inspired by old WW plains Mini and Mustang are not coping each other
Can't work out if the colour of the car he was driving was "Lightning Blue" or "Deep Impact Blue".
Anyone know?
look at the wing mirror it's yellow but when they show the out side it's blue
That is deep impact blue. Judging by the date of the video, the cars are 2015s, and deep impact blue was the only blue offered that year. Lightening blue only became available starting with the 2017 models.
Anyone else think the front of the car at 0:44 looks like that of a Beemer? (Side on, not when looking at the front directly duh)
Bought the v6 3 weeks ago and I love it, gotta bring it to the dealer cause the sync is acting up. Other than that, it's my dreamcar
Agreed. i got an exhaust for mine it sounds awesome as well now
SouthPaw U should be excited, im in love with mine
SouthPaw Haha yeah i had to keep waiting to get mine so ive seen like every video now. Just so you know though in a few months the 2017 refresh is coming out soon for the car
I work at a dealer, I just ordered a 16 Gt almost maxed out for about 42,000
I have to wait 6-10 weeks for it though. The wait sucks big time.
wich color?
White! I'll add black accents.
Such a great review. Thanks!
Check engine light already at 6:56. LOL.
Hey dumbass, uou can also see the doors are open. If you know anything about cars most likely with all those lights on it means that the car is in the on position and is not started. Just showing features. STOP HATING you watched this video for a reason lol you know you like it!!!!!😆😲
Sooo... What happened to the Roush stage 1-3 and the GT500?
Which city in California was this video shot ?
Beside the 03-04 cobras, this is a mustang I would buy (5.0). Ford did good with this 6th generation mustang.
I really like this guy. Something much different than the norm, and if you guys removed the stick up your collective sphincters you would probably laugh at a lot of his quips. Thanks for the informative and entertaining review.
Mustang Vs Camaro! Which one to get?
It's a Mustang that looks like a modern interpretation, quirky bits & in GT form every bit as powerful.
If the 2.3 Ecoboost was cheaper, than even the FR-S becomes a afterthought. I'd get one, then dial the boost to 11 to make V8 owners cry XD.
WarmSoftKitty
Well, yes. But then I feel stupid for saying "as well as the heads, the manifolds, reprogram the ECU, beef the clutch...etc. etc."
Sometimes in life, you don't need to spell every last character to know what someone is getting at.
WarmSoftKitty
Everyone has their own views; I love how NA engines sound (especially the 911 GT3) but never underestimate turbo I4s. (The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG & Mitsubishi Evo comes to mind)
Regarding your point; probably true. However, the hp gained/dollar value would definitely be higher than that of the 5.0 V8 regardless of argument; it's much easier to extract power from a FI motor than a NA motor.
Trades46
frs is the best sports car under 30k. its chassis is years ahead and the motor is a platform for big power.
MechHead Naga GMG
In terms of fun for the buck, probably. But I still insist on more power (~250hp),
The problem I have with the FR-S is a current day hot hatch like Focus ST and Golf GTI can easily beat it from a standstill.
+Jay Rosales Whatever you do only consider the 5.0
I was always driving my parents car when i was 18 so getting my mustang at 19 for a first car was not bad at all only irresponsible kids who don't value the cars their parents by them crash.
get it!
TehZured At 18 nah that seems like way to much power. He would need performance training first and even then still dangerous. I mean Mustangs are known as crowd mower's for a reason.
*****
I'm 18 and have a 2016 gt with 800hp. 435 isn't that much
We will get one of these so happyy
You was jamming had that KeKe Wyatt on the radio
Great review on the mustang.
So which is better the 4 cylinder or the v6?
Eh, bout the same all around.
Does it get wheel hop with the IRS?
The after market grille manufacturers are going to make a killing off of this car.
Became a mustang fan in 2011 too 2014
....the drop in the rear roof what didn't sit right with me...almost have the Camero look to it with a touch of Charger rear end! Mustang's need to stay and look like a Mustang...overall, the car is still amazing!
i love the pony car wars. with ford, dodge, and chevy battling it out trying to have the best muscle car they are constantly improving them all and giving up better and better cars to drive. im a huge mustang fan but i have to thank the camaro and challenger because without them i dont think we would have the beast of a mustang we do today. competition is always good for consumers.
my favorite dream car
Wow, this new mustang looks impressive!
Daaaaammmnnnn.... This is my dream car.
You have to put 93 fuel in the EcoBoost?
ashrick718 no car requires a certain fuel, but if it says it does and you put the cheaper fuel, you'll less performance on the car.
Good video. What came to mind for me was the price and options of the Mustang vs the price and options of the Focus ST. Disappointed to hear the cooled leather seats only cool the bottom. I wonder how loaded one can get a Focus ST for the price of a Mustang Ecoboost.
Finally , a desirable Mustang ! n ya ..a well used Drone !!
