    Stupid Points
    1) TATA brilliantly used the boot space for the battery by removing the spare wheels. Having no spare wheels is a big letdown for not choosing this car. Spare wheels are a must!
    2) No need to worry about the service centre as it is EV. I have seen lots of users facing quality issues, HV critical alerts on batteries, batteries getting dead, the zConnect app not working most of the time, and poor range. How one will address without SC?
    3) Interviewing a user who does not even do basic research before choosing an EV, also choosing the one who just did 1K KM and getting his thought is useless.
    Funny Points
The user just completed about 1K KM and saying many wrong info. In this 1K KM, he could have hardly charged 5 times
    1) infra in the country is too good, for this 1K KM, ride he would not even go outside of Chennai
    2) as per his claim outside charging cost is 1rs/KM, in TATA the charging cost is 21rs/Unit and with Tax it will be 23rs approx. And for charging his EV, (24Kw) it will cost 24x23 = 552rs and now it gives 200km range on the full charger as per his statement, which means 552/200 = 2.76rs.
    3) he is saying that he spend about 16000rs on his petrol car which means, 150 litres of petrol which means he used to do 2K+ KM on monthly as per his statement. But he says he consumed 200 units monthly which means, 200/25 = 8 charges and that leads to 1600km travel. Where as he did only 1K only at this time of interview. And that means 200 unit x 5 = 1000rs
Please interview a user only after doing a mock and so user will get proper information and not fake information or stupid information like the owner provided in this interview. Waste of time.

Within Chennai, we have around 50 charging point. Not all the petrol bunk.
Even outside Chennai within tamilnadu it's not more than 150.
My suggestion is to be either battery backup for emergency time that's 20 to 30km. Or petrol option which gives 10 to 15litrs to drive. Like hybrid model vehicle.
As of now this vehicle is good only within Chennai City drive.
Also we need check it range if we go with full load and full AC usage.
Need to check summer time weather conditions...
We will welcome new technology... Hope two to three years all the above issues will resolve it

I am an owner of nexon EV and in actual the cost for daily commuting is very less.
This car is letting out almost 285 Km + on a single charge ..
The same distance running cost ..when I Ran a Alto LXi was too heavy for me. This percentage is not even 10 % ..
There are days to come where battery will be cheap as the market competition increases and the Money value goes down. So today I have a good profit.
As to conclude and justify , I maintain a snap shot bank to calculate the mileage and the performance of the vehicle .. yes, the initial cost is little on the higher side but profitable.
10,000 kms completed and by charging history, I have spent

Seriously i won't agree with both owner and birla. This vehicle cost is 12 lakh and charging point 33 thousand. Also range is very less. If you switch on AC and if drive in hill station and with 5 people, it will give you within 180. Also no charging station available in some places. If available then waiting system. This is not value for the money. My cousin owns Nexon ev. I have seen the struggle. Instead you can buy CNG vehicle. Since you get mileage for 1 kg 30 mileage in high way. Also price is 76 today's rate in APG & pratham CNG bunk. Since i own Tiago CNG value for money... That's my opinion. Ev infrastructure takes atleast 10 year's for vehicle price and ev station's. That's my opinion

I respectfully dont agree with the point that EV charge station will take 10 years. It will take next 3 to 4 years max to get a solid EV station infrastructure across the country. But the waiting time and charging time is something is to be concerned upon. If it takes like 20 to 30 mins for charging then thats the problem

Tata EV - onroad price - 12 lakhs
Tata petrol - onroad price - 8 lakhs
Savings - 4 lakhs if you go to petrol car
    4 lakhs split up:
    Average of service cost - 10k/year for 5 year = 50000rs
    Remaining 3.5 lakhs split up:
    Petrol - 103
    Average km/liter - 17km
    So= 3.5L/103rs =save 3400 litre petrol
    So can run - 3400*17 = 57800kms
    adv of petrol:
    1.Resale value
    2.Any where you can go
    3. Engine power.. etc..
    Electric ev
    Dis adv:
*No guarantee for battery after 8 yrs
*Half of the price of car for battery replacement
    * No resale value
    Think before go for EV

Alright, before concerning about an EV's resale value in future. we must think about ICE vehicle potential and it's resale value within 5 years instead. In my opinion no one going to buy an ICE vehicle after 5 years of maximum 8 years. The battery used in today's all major EVs are coming with high EV grade LFP battery that could last more than a decade without any major degradation, so no need to worry about the EV battery replacement cost.

Great review, thanks to Birla Anna & Naresh
Here is a cost comparison based on the on road price in Bangalore
TIAGO XZ PLUS LONG RANGE FAST CHARGE: 12.87 LAKHS
    TIAGO XZA PLUS: 8.92 LAKHS
    DIFFERENCE: 3.95 LAKHS
COST OF PETROL: 102 rupees, for 3.95 LAKHS we can approx. run for 58,000 kms assuming 15 kmpl, assuming we spend 2 rupees/km for cost of electricity we could run for another 17000 kms on petrol, which mean the break even happens somewhere around 75,000 kms probably around 85-90 k considering the interest cost of 3.95 LAKHS
Moving to EV depends on usage, higher the usage better...

The poor owner forgot to do some basic calculations and the total investment 😆😆
Tiago petrol variant cost - 7.5L while the EV costs 12L, so almost 4.5L extra.. This means you prepaid for 4,090 litres of petrol (keeping Rs110/litre) that can run for 61,363 km (keeping mileage as 15km/ltr).
For 12 lakhs, I would get a spacious car in the premium segment and have peace of mind without worrying about the resale value, battery life, charging points and waiting time for charging.

Buying this car as a second car only for city purpose is valid ( The intent of Tata motors to launch this car in this price range is " few customers expected a low cost ev for city use" ). Keeping this as a primary car and discussing points on cruising is kind of over exaggerating it.

    Case monthly usage 600km.
    Petrol car 12kmpl mileage use= ₹ 5000 for petrol
    EV monthly cost considering 150km range = 24 units x 4 times charging x ₹9 will be ₹864/month.
Direct saving of 5000-864=₹4136. This 4136 will be EMI for 2.5 to 3 Lakhs of car loan.
For excess users EV is best. That too as 2nd car at home. As only car means Tiago ev cant be experimented at highway drives of more than 100km.

Do you think fuel cost remains same and the maintenance cost of vehicle will be around 3l to 4k per year and petrol cost even if 100 rs. For his driving he needs to pay atleast 400 rs. Daily. For 4yrs it will be around 1260 days it will be around 5 to 6 lacs in petrol or diesel. I don't understand one aspect of ev. Tiago one can buy for 8 lakhs for good petrol variant.
Now you have bought ev for 12 lakhs. Difference you have spent additional is 4 lakhs. Can you save the 4 lakhs and buy a petrol Variant and spend rest of money for petrol ?
More over - the biggest problem is range anxiety which is eliminated
Second after 8 years - you have to spend 3-4 lakhs again for battery.
So 12 lakhs + 3 lakhs battery plus electricity cost which I assume is not zero but may be 1 lakh for 8 years
Assuming you spend 12+3+1 = 16 lakhs over 8 years but after 8 years with new battery your car will be treated new like ( don't know how much of life will be left after 8 years even with new batteries)
My argument is going for a ev is not worth now. It is eco friendly but not priced right in India. Even a toy car like comet is priced 8+ lakhs.
Ev market needs to be mature

Only because of russian crude oil our petrol price are same for past 1 year. Otherwise it would have gone through more than 110. And supply will soon may end at the price. Also Maruti increases price of their car every year. Whereas EV decreases the price. So its better to opt for EV though you pay a premium.
