What he's saying is actually a Tibetan Buddhism technique of the Nyingma lineage in the Dzogchen teachings called the inner mind ruushen. This technique is a preliminary to the non meditation state.
Only difference is that Tibetans say that first there are thoughts and stories woven around that feeling sensation of fear. Strip them one by one . Then when it stands almost naked with only the underwear on , strip that too. The name 'fear' is the underwear its wearing. Once you remove that, see where is the sensation happening? It seems to be happening somewhere in the gut. Now be with that raw sensation which has been stripped of all stories and labels. The sensation vanishes without the support of the stories and labels. Like this, one can apply this technique to any feeling sensation. But it needs practise. Its very powerful too. Hope it helps

Excellent treatise on fear. I am 93 and was fortunate to have heard him live when I was 13 in Bombay.
This same result is achievable through Yoga Pranayama which I did later in my life. The technique is to slowly develop how to put distance between thoughts coming to you. Even a fraction of a second helps. Slowly you distance from the thought itself and you come back with a lot of positive energy.
    Just my thoughts and experience.

I think I do understand. Since childhood, we are told there is something called “fear”. Our brain creates this category into which we put various experiences from automatic reactions like jumping away from rattlesnakes to feelings of uncertainty about the future. We are then told that we mustn’t fear, it’s “unmanly". So when we feel uncertain about the future, since we’ve put it into that category of “fear” we feel something is amiss. We shouldn’t be cowardly and fearful. But, if we just stick with the sensation, uncertainty about the future is a fact. Hopefully, without being overcome with fear, we can better deal with that uncertainty. Any way, that’s how I’m understanding what the speaker said

We are caught up in the "what ifs" more than we are within this passing moment. More moments wasted waiting for the other shoe to drop- and when it finally does, we've suffered enough so that it does not even phase us, and then grieve for the moments that passed, wasted, instead.

Mind creating, clearing, creating, pursuing and…threatened by arrogance, ignorance, making so much noise, affraid, contraction, not able to breathe, so much violence, look at it, observe..the well known feeling remains, feeling without the word, sensation, sensation without words, forms, all the senses, wow; the I, thought - word, has struggled with this for 65 years, my goodness. It becames known to you, and you give litle importance to it. In the and, fear is from unknownig ourselves. When you know, you became greater than the feeling. Its a meditative exercise.

  • @JSaretin

This is crazy. While I was meditating few weeks ago, I decided to meditate on "attention" which later leed me to "sensation" and "feeling". It turns out feeling is nothing but a label 🏷️ we slap on sensation when we explain to others. Because "we become what we think about" and "we don't know what we don't know", we can label a particular sensation wrongly because we do not have the right word to describe the sensation.
Sensation on the other hand, originates from as result of ex-periment (experience) that we conduct. When we experience something, we might feel positive, negative or neutral about the experiment.
The whole this is kinda complicated to explain. This is why I want to start my blog to share my thoughts with others.

You first experience a sensation: physical, biological events. These are often triggered by what you once perceived as dangerous experiences, whether in childhood or, for some, even in past lives. For example, for a child, being rejected by one or both parents (either continuously or even just once, if the event was significant) feels like a life-threatening danger: "Who will feed me? Who will protect me?,..."
In the present, these physical bodily sensations arise whenever you are confronted by a situation similar to, or reminiscent of, that past dangerous experience (abandonment experiences for example). Your rational mind then transforms the sensation into 'fear' again: "What will happen to me? Will I be able to handle myself? What if someone notices my 'fear'?"
When you observe the sensation (first physical event which arises) without labeling it (in full awareness and without judgment), you realize there is usually no real danger. However, your rational mind has become accustomed to adding all the labels and qualifications we define as 'fear'

I suggest an Ayahuasca Ceremony, integrating your core in connection to the whole, I'm certain it'd help with all trauma and pain
      Where are you located though?

Is there a difference between being free from fear and wanting to create a certain state within yourself, a state of well-being, even a "spiritual state", a state of higher consciousness? which includes manifesting and so on. I wonder if anyone else sees this? Does the question make any sense? I never write a comment, what do you think, please do comment.

I have limited understanding on these concepts, but hear my answer
      There is a difference,
Being free from fear is being free from thoughts and left with observational presence alone(created because of unidentification)
To create a certain state - initially you may land in that observational state, but 2nd time 3rd time, your mind might be creating that state,
You are creating your own identification

The origin of this technique is from buddhism. No doubt he described well but the basic structure is slightly different. The whole concept is based on the 'Inner Silence' which can only be achieved by meditation.

You could say this about any sensation -- not just fear. Happiness. Boredom. Anger. And so on. This is Krishnamurti being heady -- as usual.

Having to unravel all of these references to the actual quality itself could cost many ppl decades of time just trying to unnderstand that their trap IS THEIR OWN MINDS, basically. Most unfortunate, as ppl would prefer to reinforce the mind and its fears/positions rather than to perform the heavy lifting of "looking" AT THE MIND and what it is doing. Ending fear by facing fear will be counterintuitive to most folks out there. Looking at fear IS FACING FEAR. Ppl refuse to consider this as a solution. The world must kiss their @$$*$ instead in order that they can have their fears assuaged rather than for them to choose the inward looking activity....😮

Yes sensation itself a feeling and even though we separate it from a word we can feel that. Let me honest this video is point less I expected how to observe fear and come out from it with ease.

The mental feeds the emotions. Even if, at first, it's the emotion that creates the ideas of fear or anger ...
I'm not sure talking about "the word 'fear' " is a good thing. When one is afraid he doesn't necessarily think "I'm afraid", he/she doesn't necessarily think the WORD "fear". However there's a mental activity which is not pure emotion anymore.
Maybe replacing "word" by "mental", or "thought" would be more clear.

The word can be the definition of a feeling, but the other way around it’s possible? I personally think that we feel the necessity of nameing what we feel, think, see instead of enjoying it how it is and live in the present, the curent sensation. 😅 we have to remember that every word that we say is a general definition that we all agree about, but particularly we have to discover every sensation and define it by ourselves, for ourselves.
