I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.
My thoughts are my own and are not representative of everyone who currently works, or has worked at Tesla.

Took two years to convince my wife to get Model S, bought stock around 2014, bought more over time, and NEVER looked back !!! Thanks for all your candor and help in understanding Tesla from within. The public surely doesn't understand/appreciate how smart and hardworking Tesla employees are !!!!
Watching this on my lunch break at the Kato Rd. facility. As great and exciting as it is here, it’s good that you put your personal ambitions first. You may have found yourself stuck in the golden handcuffs later down the road unable to pursue your other goals. I took the opposite approach as you delaying my career life, also touring in a band and doing a lot of international travel until began to feel lost in life. Contributing to Tesla’s positive mission for humanity helps me feel excited and motivated despite the long hours and hard work. My tesla journey is just beginning. And I’m sure it’s exciting for you as your post-tesla chapter in life unfolds. All the best!
As a Tesla investor it's very reassuring to hear you speak so positively about working there. It's hard to get a good picture of the working environment because usually the media only covers the few people that are particularly disgruntled. Their people are by far their greatest asset so I'm glad they're not taking them for granted.

I worked at GigaNevada for 2 1/2 years as a production lead and I agonized in a similar manner. I had an opportunity to move to Eugene, Oregon, and work for an EV startup, Arcimoto. It was tough walking away but I'm a Process Specialist helping to actually build and define the company and I couldn't be happier. So many amazing things happened in my time with Tesla and I felt I could reach out and stay in the industry while still continuing the Tesla mission. Best of luck to you! Thanks!
