I had just gotten this monitor today from best buy and was curious as well if it would do 4k 60hz with DP cable. In windows settings it does do 4k 60hz as an option! I have been switching between 4k and 2k for about 20min now and to me there is a quality improvement!!!!!

I like Mountlake Terror explained I also tested the video in games and youtube videos. In youtube videos I didnt have much option for 4k, but I do now and there is an improvement. I looks beautiful. The Monitor menu shows 4k resolution 60Hz. I called MSI and talked to more than 1 rep and they told me the same thing. It is listed as a 1440p monitor, but it is capable of 4k. It is sold and listed as a 1440p monitor because of the refresh rate. It's their selling point. MSI told me specifically that yes this monitor can accept and display 4k. Truth or not. I believe it because your eyes don't lie and compared to 1440p there is a difference.

Thank you for this video. I’m huge on fps, and I find myself also playing some rpgs, so I think this could be perfect. I’m still starting out my gaming setup. I imagine my setup having triple monitors, and maybe having my tv connected but not used all the time. So my plan is to have two lesser monitors as secondaries and then then the main monitor in the middle, so I’ll eventually pick up 2 of these, and then get some crazy 4k 32 inch monitor as my main one. Hello, the 27 inch version with QD panel is on sale, do you think is worth this upgrade with Freesync premium pro for the extra $50? I have a Rx 6700xt and prefer to play in dark enviroments, thats is why i prefer a VA panel.
If you play mouse & keyboard, I’d recommend a 27-28” monitor. My 32” monitor is too big to play close. I normally play with controller, but tried to learn mouse/keyboard & just felt too close. I have the older MSI 32” 165 htz monitor.

I have a question though.. does this one have PBP (picture by picture) If yes, could someone test it with a laptop n a console for example and give me feedback, if it jeeps the aspect ratio of the two input medias or if it does stretch and uses eventually the full available screen? Background: i bought 3 days ago an MSI Optix MPG341CQR So far so good, all looked fine.. then i connected up my laptop and my xbox series x, turned on PBP and voila… epic fail.. you cannot change there the aspect ratios, u cannot get the 2 pictures stretched, so i ended ip basically using like 50% of the screen with black bezels bigger than nearly the actual “screens” So it goes back tomorrow… Had a Gigabyte G34WQC 2 months ago, which was upscaling and stretching the PBP but it had terrible back light bleeding… I need a monitor without backlight bleeding where i can have half of the screen my laptop, on the other half stretched one of my consoles so i can play during work if i have some free time…. Any advice? 🙃

I first purchased a MSI Curved monitor in 2018. I had to go through the RMA process 2 times by late 2020, and now my 3rd monitor failed 6/10/22. I have a monitor that has been issued to me in a warranty repair. This is my third monitor I have had to get back because of issues with the displays. I have the issue of lines going across the screen on both the HDMI to my xbox and Display port to my PC. The pc picture shows the white screen and the top half is darker because of little lines across the screen. The xbox you can see the lines are thicker and take up more of the screen. You can see the lines on the top half. This is very frustrating to have paid $460 on a monitor and to have the issues continously happening. I even had to pay the shipping to have my monitor replaced. I am to the point where I want a refund for the monitor as I don't want to deal with display issues every year or two. When talking to customer service they won't do anything to help me and just say my monitor is out of warranty from my original purchase. Overall I received 3 monitors for my $460 and they have all been defective in less than 1.5 years. The first one was defective on delivery I only noticed when I had it in the basement and when it was cold there would be lines across the display and it would disappear 20 mins after warming up. Very disappointed never going to be an MSI customer again.

I own one of these. I not only cannot recommend it. But I'll actively say don't buy it. Two of these in and both can never connect to a PC I own. And I have enough spare cables to cycle through in case somethings off that Between 4 pcs and a dozen DP and HDMI cables later the MSI support group just started hanging up on me once we had gone through every way to check what's wrong. And both wouldn't bring up their menu nomatter how or when the button was pressed. Basically if you want a matte black screen that stays on standby mode then it will work for you.
do NOT get the g55t, imo it’s the worst 1440p option out there. Response rate is terrible, ghosting and black smearing is honestly an eyesore I had to return it the next day.

personally, I use my TV. My Toshiba and Sansui TV's support RGB VGA Input, so both TVs are used as monitors as well a TV. and they also support HDMI, so upgrading to a HDMI only video card is no problem. so, why would I need to buy a 32" monitor when I already have two!

Take care, this is not the same monitor, its an inferior MAG instead of MPG. Might still be okay for you though.
If you play mouse & keyboard, I’d recommend a 27-28” monitor. My 32” monitor is too big to play close. I normally play with controller, but tried to learn mouse/keyboard & just felt too close. I have the older MSI 32” 165 htz monitor.
I think that’s a personal preference for sure. My main is a 43” on mouse and keyboard and I love it.

The HDR implementation on this monitor is actually usable and for that price I might dare say good.

Why does it say my hdr is off? How do I turn it on
I think you have to turn it on or off from the PC settings or if you’re on console then you have to do it from the console settings
