Perfect timing, the ASUS WOLED 1440p is going on sale for £499, I've been eyeing that monitor for a black friday sale and under 500 for an OLED is very good.
I think that the 42" category could do with some refreshing in the market: it's indeed niche, but still a good option for people with the space and budget for it.

This is my first step into the OLED family.
I got the MSI 341CQP about 2 months ago. FW 0.25 had a terrible bug that ruined the image quality. It introduced a lot of color bending. It took 2 months for them to fix this with FW 0.28(and there was no way to revert to older FW Versions), but the Monitor is now fixed and its pretty much perfect. I love it.
I recently purchased an LG 34gs95qe on sale and I regret not having made the switch to OLED sooner. While many online express their dislike for the 800r curve, it truly does add to the immersion for gameplay.
LG C4 42 absolutely amazing especially if you want immersion and you get the benefit of watching 4k dolby vision content without dealing with bs windows drm pains

@@TeoDasilva-w9i Wulff Den has had his switch and steam deck on, on the exact same screen, at max brightness hdr for years as an experiment and they're still completely usable. A little burn in =/= unusable like if it didn't power on. His battery actually stopped working first. It's a non-issue. Every single high end phone uses an oled display, and now even low and mid-range androids do. If burn in was such a big issue, it would be unprofitable due to warranty claims. Literally every screen is starting to become oled now. Even random gadgets.
I've been PC gaming for 33 years. Early adopter of 1440p and 4k. With that said, the PG32UCDM has changed my life. The clarity, contrast, and blackness levels are insane.
You reviewed the LG C1 and C2 a couple years ago, would you ever do revisits of them or pick up a C4 or next years (presumably) C5? As someone who dislikes curved monitors, a 42 inch 16:9 makes more sense than a regular flat ultrawide, because with an OLED you can just run black bars with perfect blacks.
I have a 42 c3, I love the thing, especially the size. Screen real estate for work is awesome. Once you get used to the size, if you have the space, you won’t want to go back
That's what i do, can put the image on 4k and on ultrawide 3440x1440. I like not having a curved screen. best of both worlds also 1000 nits on top of it.
We've now had the same HDR specs for OLED monitors for 3 years, it's time they upgrade the brightness, like they do on TVs. 400 nits at 10% just doesn't cut it anymore, TVs are now at 3k nits on that front.
Got my Alienware AW3225QF last week. I’m absolutely blown away. Best graphics upgrade I’ve ever got from a PC component. I’ve got a 3080 Ti so I can’t really make use of the full 240fps, but still it’s amazing.
I own both the PG32UCDM and the Samsung G80SD. Both fantastic with great picture quality, superb HDR. One glossy, the other matte but really two amazing options.
Nice! How’s does the G8 look in comparison as far as colors go? I heard that they need a little tweaking to get them just right. Just bought a G8 a couple days ago (waiting for it to arrive). Was going for the Asus but the Samsung was about 40% cheaper out the door so went with that instead. 😅
@@MOLID2_ They're both fantastic. The semi glossy panel on the Asus sometimes make it feel a bit more "punchier" I would say, but the Samsung has this picturesquey vibe which also is great. Also the built-in speakers are a big plus. Also, I didn't tweak anything. Looks ok to me out of the box.
@ Awesome! Thanks!! Looking forward to checking out the G8. The built in speakers are a nice feature I didn’t even know it had. Since I don’t currently have a headset or sound system atm. 😅
I bought an LG 48” B4 for $599! Best Buy had it on sale for $200 off. It’s my first OLED and at 120hz it’s not the fastest panel, but games look amazing. There is also black frame insertion, which I didn’t expect. It seems like LG has brought everything from the C3 to the B4 and it is only missing an incremental processor bump + some AI features. If you’re in the US and have a budget to worry about, try it out!
I got one for $390 out the door (had a gift card too), I can’t get 120hz out of my MacBook Air M2 and am returning the TV. Very disappointed about that. Only way to get high refresh is to use display port which the TV doesn’t have.
@@Some0ne001sorry to hear that. I was able to get 120hz with HDMI from my PS5. The way to get that to work with PC or Mac is a type C to HDMI that supports the higher bandwidth. They are available on Amazon
Thanks so much Tim for your effort in testing and sharing. I bought the Asus pg32udcp last friday after the price dropped from 1500 to 1200 euro in the Netherlands. I was used to a oled tv but it seems even more impactful on a monitor. I must say coming from a 27" the size was a big of a shock as well. Next step is upgrading my 3080 that does struggle playing 4k in decent refresh rates.
I bought the Alienware 3225 and the Samsung g80sd and had them side by side. It’s crazy how much the matte coating mutes the color vibrancy and adds a grey tint to the blacks. It was a great display, but the gloss finish on the Alienware really makes the colors pop and the blacks look inky. In my opinion it wasn’t even close, even though they use the same panel. Gloss finish is a game changer for those of you making a decision. And the curve is so subtle you can’t even notice it while using it.
On my third a23dwf. First one lasted 18months but had a very faint line of lighter pixels. Dell replaced straight away with a brand new unit but had the same problems issue from day one. They replaced with a refurbished unit and it’s been flawless so far. I always find refurbished units direct from the manufacturer tend to be more reliable. Probably because someone has gone hands on and fixed the issues manually.
I don't game as much as I used to. This is exactly why I'm happy with my Odyssey Neo G8. Despite the curve, it's great at both gaming and productivity, and I don't have to worry about burn-in.
I had the Philips Evnia when I was in the US and it is so much better than aw3423dwf which I currently have now. I had to return the Evnia since I was moving, and I couldn't buy it here unfortunately. And the main issue I see on aw3423dwf is the purple QD-OLED tinting in daylight, Evnia didn't have that big of an issue in comparison.
I'm firmly commited into getting a 27" 4K OLED monitor. The plan was, judging from current roadmaps and infos, to wait until 2025Q4 assuming both Samsung QDOLED options and LG RGB OLED options would launch around that time, but if something will be out on 2025Q1 I would assume it's the QDOLED. I don't think I can wait 6 months more and I prefer QDOLED over WOLED anyway, but here's a crystal ball question: what do you think would be the advantages of LG's OLED options?
@@jesperburns I'm on a Gigabyte M27U already while waiting for the OLED options. It's fine. Also, physical space constraints and being greedy on moar pixels.
@@jesperburns Just to weigh in here, I personally want a 27" since I need to be roughly an arm's length away from my screen, any further and I'd need my glasses to see sharp, and I'd rather not wear them all the time. Anything bigger would mean the screen would be too big in my field of view to be comfortable.
@@arkdirfe Oh I can get the size. I just don't think 163 PPI is necessary. Especially since 4k resolution massively tanks performance. I'm still on 92 PPI now and I can't even distinguish individual pixels from where I'm sitting, 108 (1440p) would be plenty for me. My peripheral vision is fine so I'd sooner go for an ultrawide at around 110 PPI. Though come to think of it, with OLEDs weird subpixel layout, higher PPI might be beneficial.
@rayzor6457 A lot of monitors don't come with speakers and the ones that do they are very low wattage. Since the lg c4 is a tv the speakers are designed to fill a room. Lg c4 has 40 watts. There's support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (via pass-through), and an AI Sound Pro mode provides virtual 9.1.2-channel upmixing of soundtracks. No tv will ever beat a decent headset or a decent external speakers but for a screen i cant image the fast majority if not all monitors can match the sound from it.
@rayzor6457 Well, most gamers would use their headset i guess, but i can't imagine the sound of a monitor would be better than a good tv which are designed to produce sound in a large room. Monitors ether dont have sound or very low wattage speakers. The Lg c4 has 40 watts. There's support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (via pass-through), and an AI Sound Pro mode provides virtual 9.1.2-channel upmixing of soundtracks. I cant imagine many if any Monitors doing better.

Damn, my DWF is still rockin' in this reveal after a year later, good to know. 32-34" is where it's at these days. 32" for flat and 34" for a bit of a curve. Anything higher is silly unless you sit further back but I don't.
I paid $900 for my AW3423DWF last summer and I don't regret it. I've seen it being sold for as little as $650 on sale. It's really the best value OLED for most people I think.
This is the best channel for info and recommendations about monitors, hands down! Thanks for your efforts! @zaid19961 I've been using it for like 2 weeks now and it is great. I switched from g7 odyssey (first gen I think, 27 curved va panel) and colors are nicer, dark scenes are so much better, view angles are perfect and all of the other benefits of oled. ASUS PG32UCDM dropped to 1,000 USD on Amazon for Black Friday, the day this video dropped. I’ve been using the Dell Alienware AW3225QF for 4 months, that I bought at 900 USD + 100 cash back, and been loving this monitor.
Snagged the G80SD on sale for 950 USD and it’s been a confident step up from my AW3821DW. Oled was the main reason along side the 4k but hopefully one day I would go back to 38in if an oled high refresh rate releases.
Just ordered AW3423DWF in Black friday deal in CAD 800 only very excited to play on my rig (9800x3d+4080super), Hope that my hardware will handle this 3440 x 1440 resolution.🤞
My newly acquired Gigabyte MO34WQC2 in Australia right now cost me $1350.00 with the Black Friday sale. The Alienware AW3423DWF here is still $1260.00, and we basically NEVER see that thing on sale here in Oz. So for me this was an incredibly easy pick. The Gigabyte is the superior monitor; it is 240hz, and it does have excellent build quality and was well packaged and protected with a protective film over the screen etc, something I've heard from disgruntled buyers the AW does not have and people have had scratches as a result. For Australian consumers it definitely pays to look around.
Can you do a video testing Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate vs AMD FreeSync Premium Pro? Please :) AW3423DW (G-Sync Ultimate) vs AW3423DWF (FreeSync Premium Pro) is about $600 difference. If I plan to pair this monitor with a RTX 5090 the obvious choice should be to go with the G-Sync or am I just falling for their marketing? I'm not a high income earner, I just save money for a long time to buy the best I possibly can every 5-6 years or so, saving $600 would be awesome. I dont think I can bring myself in giving Asus my hard earned cash for their monitors anymore... Ive been burned in the past, and their RMA system was a nightmare... So I'm ok
I want a new monitor so bad but the overall brightness on these OLEDs is just too dim (for me). I am very hopeful that CES will show us some sweet new panels for 2025 🤞🏻
The 45” LG WOLED hits up to 1300 nits in small windows and 750 nits in a 10% with 275 nits full screen and minimal ABL. Having returned the 321URX for poor HDR brightness I can say this one really surprised me.
As always great stuff! The only monitor I feel is lacking here is the Samsung G80SD. It will probably be one of the most sold monitors, and Samsung along with LG is the only two brands that often do not add a high "EU tax" on monitors. They also often have better offers/deals. Samsung is now at 1k USD while all other QD-OLEDS with same panel have deals at 1500 USD.
Here in Turkiye samsung g8 is $1160 and msı is 300$ more then asus is $300 more. I was thinking buying 4k oled but cant decide since I dont very much like the samsung quality in general. What major thing would make you skip g8?

I've had it for a week. It's my first Oled monitor. No eye strain at all even after 4-5 hours of gaming.
Perfect timing, the ASUS WOLED 1440p is going on sale for £499, I've been eyeing that monitor for a black friday sale and under 500 for an OLED is very good.
I can't find that, is it gone?
@@numnuts44 I think so, they seem to be out of stock at the 499 price. Only one i could find now is overclockers but you have to preorder it.

I think that the 42" category could do with some refreshing in the market: it's indeed niche, but still a good option for people with the space and budget for it.
I settled for the samsung g80sd a few months ago and its worked very well so far
How's the built in speaker? I'm thinking of getting it & I have speakers for my setup but unfortunately the G80SD don't have any audio jack :(
@amirulamjath the in built speakers aren't the best but they're better than nothing haha
Still rocking my Asus PG348Q and can't get motivated to replace it. Had it almost 10 years now and no burn in, works like new still. Nice sharp text too.
Isn't that a 60Hz monitor? That alone is enough to replace it with how many affordable 144Hz+ ultrawides there are now.
I just purchased a Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG from Amazon DE!
It’s on a sale at 550€ making it 150€ less and 570-ish $!
Amazing steal!
It will arrive in 1 week and I’m very excited to see it in action!
Especially since I’ve only worked with tiny Laptop screens or budget 1080p monitors my whole life. This is my first step into the OLED family.
its not shown to me for that price :(
I can't find the monitor on DE
I‘m eyeballing it too. Deciding between this and the G60SD. Can you share your experience when you get it?

It's out of stock. Delivery time estimated to Feb 2025
I just bought myself an MSI MAG 271QPX E2 after it went in sale today for 500 bucks, can't wait for it to arrive, it will be my first OLED

I love it.
I’m currently aiming for the MPG 341CQPX. The Alienware is nice, but the lack of USB-C PD kills it for me.
Hi do you have problems with the text fringing?? because when i read white text i have headache
I recently purchased an LG 34gs95qe on sale and I regret not having made the switch to OLED sooner. While many online express their dislike for the 800r curve, it truly does add to the immersion for gameplay.
Options are wonderful to have. I like the 1800r better than 800r but then there are folks wanting flat still. To each their own! 🙂
I recently bought the 39 inch version, there is a real immersion due to the 800R and the image is beautiful, despite the low pixel density
LG C4 42 absolutely amazing especially if you want immersion and you get the benefit of watching 4k dolby vision content without dealing with bs windows drm pains
HDR is trash, leave it off
@drunkhusband6257 looks good in modern games and i was referring to hdr contact on Netflix, hbo max, prime video and such which look amazing because unlike a lot of the monitors this tv has a much higher peak brightness number and mostly displays content around 580+ nits on average which would be the peak brightness those monitors have...

There's a TON of deals on OLED and QD-OLED monitors currently, at least in the US. There's 1440p AOC models available for $400, 360 Hz 1440p MSI QD-OLED for $580, and a 165 Hz 4K QD-OLED for $700.

Where are you seeing $400 monitors? I haven't seen any such thing yet and that's the price range I'm looking for
I would avoid the AOC ones, they are terrible. Here in UK, the XG27AQDMG is only 40-50 more currently. Theres also a Gigabyte one at the same price.
Bought a LG c3 42 inch last year for a glossy WOLED, and would still go this way today. Matte just doesn't cut it.
Still no review of new Samsung G6 OLED 1440p monitor, it has mat screen. It would be great to see the review. Any chance?
i've got mine and yes sadly really small reviewer did review those monitor
Yes! Would love a comparison or review on the G60SD with the ASUS XG27AQDMG and MSI QRX, they are all pretty similarly priced
Check the breakdown on rtings - the tl:dr version though, is that it's like a worse performing AW2725DF
Can’t compare with anything else on the market but I have the Samsung G61SD which is the 240hz model. I have no complaints so far a week in.
Just from the technical side, i was super happy with the Display. Mat screen, high refresh rate and very good clarity. But mine died after 2 weeks, was in repair and died 2 weeks after that again. Also the Software was a bit buggy... i dont know what the cause is and im sure its not intendet, but its hard to recommend the samsung imo.

I have the C4 42. However,,i thinking bout getting the Asus. I do love the glossy LG. But i think the size of 32 would be better
Lol, it's fine. Stop bitching.
Got my Alienware AW3225QF last week. I’m absolutely blown away. Best graphics upgrade I’ve ever got from a PC component. I’ve got a 3080 Ti so I can’t really make use of the full 240fps, but still it’s amazing.
I’ve been thinking about getting this one..I only have a 3070ti
I am kind of missing the LG C2 C3 C4 42" as a viable alternative for OLED monitors.
Next step is upgrading my 3080 that does struggle playing 4k in decent refresh rates.
where is the G8 G80SD
I went through three OLED’s before staying with the Samsung G80SD. Works for my needs and has the best most subtle mat coating I’ve used.
The pixel substructure on the MLA+ Woled dual mode has incredible text rendition. 480hz is OP imo as well.
its only your opinion. not a fact
Agree. Easily the best of the bunch.
Lucky timing for me to be monitor shopping, the 32” UCDP just dropped to $999 on Amazon. These comments helped my decision. Thanks!
4k on 27"? That seems like massive overkill in pixel density but you do you.
@@jesperburns I'm on a Gigabyte M27U already while waiting for the OLED options. It's fine. Also, physical space constraints and being greedy on moar pixels.
@@todestriebu8656 I am personally on the "moar settings" team (while maintaining playable fps with vsync).

Yes it is good for gaming, but the sound is horrible.

@@GrumpyGrndad You're right, there are no 24 feet OLEDs.
@@drunkhusband6257 Nearly 60% of gamers on pc still use 1080p, and out of that 60% vast majority i would assume are on 24". So no, people still care. Manufacturers don't.
Perfect timing with BF deals happening
Can't wait for 4k '27 oled
fuck yeah
I find 4k pretty useless at that size. Pixel density is great on 1440p 27inch.
@@kidzor16 you must have your monitor really far away then lol. I have a 24 inch 1440p and its noticeably sharper than at 27 inch.
What '27? You're waiting for the year 2027 monitor models?
Start saving then.
Great video as always, so many good choices now and at amazing prices for OLED
I'm still waiting for 27" OLED 4K 240HZ, since I'm targeting to something retina like pixel density.
Never gonna happen. 32". Best case 28". Show me a single 27" 4k OLED panel. That format will never exist. Quote me on when it happens.
@@eugenijusdolgovas9278 plenty of 4k 27" LCD panels, no reason OLED wouldn't eventually go there too. never is a strong word

1:54 bro that damn white dot on the top left scared the hell out of me, in full screen mode too. thought i had a dead pixel or something on my new

Why is a 48" LG C4 OLED TV $1,000 but some of these 32" OLED monitors cost $1,300?
It's more difficult/costly to manufacture smaller pixels/OLEDs.
@@matthewparker2910 I really want to get one of these 32" OLED monitors but damn they are expensive. I love my LG OLED TV but I want something at my computer desk to game on.
I would def go the TV route but unfortunately they are 16:9 and I can't really deal with that ratio for work anymore. I need MINIMUM 21:9 (currently on 32:9)
Monitors have higher refresh rates, higher pixel density displays also cost more to make since they are not as mass produced as TVs
TVs should be part of the conversation: 4k oled high refresh rate, hdr, vrr, competitive prices... Those are gaming screens too
this is a monitor channel. no one wants a TV as a monitor
OLED is so overrated, I regret buying one coming from Mini LED. A good Mini LED smokes OLED in HDR 10 times out of 10 (except for very specific unrealistic scenarios). I just wish there were 4K 32" flat 240hz Mini LEDs out...
I had a mini led with 512 zones. The blooming and ips glow was too poor.
i have samsung odyssey neo g8 and asus pg32ucdp both are very similar but blacks are better on oled but brightness better at va
you apparently have not had the right oled at all.
Oled is truly beautiful it just needs to get brighter. And it will in time
I do not wish to get back to dimming zone glow 😵💫
Black Friday, let's gooooooooooo!!! 💰💰
I have the 4k G80SD and it’s amazing.
I’m one of the few it seems that gets eye strain from glossy QD and I don’t always want to be gaming in a fully dark room so it’s perfect for me.
For those worrying about the matte coating it’s very subtle compared to first gen matte panels like the LG 27GR95QE-B.. I have this panel too and it’s night and day
Thanks for making these video's!
I picked up the G80SD 4K QD OLED, 240 Hz for $690 and I got a free 27 inch monitor included as well. There's lots of nice sales right now on monitors.
I wonder if these lowered OLED 4k pricings mean they either cracked some cost saving in production, or if companies are making room for when MicroLED/new tech starts entering within the next few years.
7:24 thank you, this is very important
With CES25 coming up.. is it worth getting a monitor now? Or just wait?
Id say get it from a retailer with a decent return. Most go all the way till jan 31.
Picked up an MSI 271QPX E2 for $500. Looks fantastic.
Only ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP Dual Mode ...the only and one KING of all monitors,💪💪💪
7:39 in Eurozone and Poland the best value 1440p OLED is Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q2 it cost 579€ or 2499zł and the
ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG cost 649€ or 3499zł asus should do something with Polish price!!!
Got the white LG 32" 4K dual mode. Took a day or two to adjust from the first ever QD OLED (AW3423DW), but it's a pretty great upgrade overall. The 480hz mode is unreal. If you haven't seen 480hz yet, you really need to!
Too bad it's 1080p.
I ordered the ASUS ROG Swift 32” 4K OLED Gaming Monitor (PG32UCDP) yesterday.
a month ago I bought the Asus PG32UCDP the dual mode one and I noticed the colors were not that vibrant but I found out that if you install the driver the colors look amazing and the performance is batter some how the flicker is way less than before the driver was installed.
Thank you so much for highlightiny which monitors have matte or glossy coating, not a lot of reviewers mention that. It is the most important factor for me when purchasing a monitor as I only like glossy screens.
Dude why are you not reviewing the g80d? Ive now bought it because i couldnt wait and in the UK Dell and Samsung were the only 2 under £900 and I didnt want curve
The Alienware QD-OLED34DWF is still going strong. It has been a year since I got a recommendation from you. I hated the matte screen from there. Glossy is definitely the way to go.
