      @@rollerdoors it certainly did , works better than ever for a door that probably 25+ yrs . Had to adjust tension as door was little hard to pull down and going up on its own. Now to readjust front roller door.
      Thank you.

  • @abulka
    @abulka 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Nice, but you missed the step of when to do up the U-bolts. Presumably any time you think there is enough tension. After which you can remove the stilsons.

    • @rollerdoors
      @rollerdoors  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey 👋🏻
      Correct about 7:15 I did the u-bolt up on the left side whilst holding the stilsons down a little bit for ease of removal (needed 2 hands). Then tightened the right hand side before I closed the door again. Leave the stilsons attached from extra safety until you know it’s all done ✔️

    Mate I got an issue hopefully you can tell me what to do.
    I lifted the roller door and when it was at the top I give it a bit extra to make sure my Ute didn’t hit it. After I pushed on it, it come out of the side guide brackets and went all the way up then over itself.
    It’s completely slipped from those side grooves and isn’t usable.
    What do I do? lol 😂

    • @TheCrazycrab2
      @TheCrazycrab2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Side note it is a overhead rolling door

    • @rollerdoors
      @rollerdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oops. Usually you would take the sidetracks off, And it might be easier with some help, but then roll the door up from the top like a news paper and keep it tight and then tie rope around it. Then when you’ve got it tied up tight, you can roll it forwards away from you and then untie it and pull it down a bit. Don’t let Go until you’ve got the tracks back on

    Can the spring be replaced independently of the door? Door is still in good condition but spring isn't able to balance door in middle position even after the technician has tightened it. He advises I need to be a whole new door.

    • @rollerdoors
      @rollerdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can do new springs, but the only time I’ve ever had to do that is if one has snapped which may be the issue but if the springs haven’t snapped, I guarantee it should be able to be balanced correctly as there is really infinite adjustment in springs for this very reason as they get older.

    Hi Mate. Love your vids.
    I’ve installed a 3100 wide. And 3000 high roller door. And fitted a new B&d opener. Everything is level etc.
    only issue is. The door keeps sliding along the shaft/axle toward the opener. Which we have on the left. As there is power there.
    How can I stop it sliding on the axle. So I can install the door tracks.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks.

    • @rollerdoors
      @rollerdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks 😊
      1. Quick fix is to centre the door and place a coning clamp on each side of the axle next to the drum wheels
      2. Proper fix it’s probably the door hasn’t been centred it on the brackets, even though it’s level, it may have been installed to one side more and wants to keep going back that there. Easiest way would be to remove the motor, re clamp that side and Roll the door up evenly without the tracks and that’s where it will sit and then you know which way to move the shaft over. How i usually do it is loosen one of ubolts and then put my Stilson’s on the other side. Loosen that one and wiggle it over a bit.
      In your case you could push the motor side bracket out and clamp it, then go to the other side and loosen it, and then go and push the motor bracket and shaft inwards that will push the door over 30-40mm.

    Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
    Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ."
    Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
    Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
    Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
    Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
    Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
    Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

    any tips to reattach the door to the drum if it becomes totally detached? I'm using a Janus door in the USA, if that matters.

    • @rollerdoors
      @rollerdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not familiar with Janus, but you’ve usually got to release all the spring tension first if one side detaches to ne able to fix it back or it will be uneven.

    how are the stilsons gripping if you’re able to rotate them on the pole?!

    • @rollerdoors

      They do grip on in one direction when pulling downwards towards the jaw opening and release in the other direction when pushing towards the closed “top” of the stilsons

      I have actually and it simply states that energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be converted from one form to another. So technically, energy transferred from my bicep and tricep into tensioning the springs will be forever stored in the door to assist with its operation until such time it is accidentally released again as rotational kinetic energy and heat in a matter of seconds. 💪🏻
      Thanks for watching
