Thank you for the information Andrew. I’ve never installed a roll up door like that one
Thank you for watching
If you don't have a tractor or forklift -- put an engine hoist in the bed of a pickup truck. I did 5 doors like that alone on my farm. If you have several doors the same size, get a spare pair of springs -- they will eventually break. Better to have them on-hand than hunt for replacements.
Good tips
Can you do a video on set the tension
1st good morning 👍🏽
Good morning sir!
Im thinking that, in my future buys, if the manufacturer cant be bothered to make a vid showing the inatallation of their product then I cant be bothered to buy their product.
Awesome! Where did you get your door? Would you recommend it?
My father got it from a small shop in Starke Florida. So far zero issues
You're a good son... 🙂
I'm currently installing two of these doors and your video is so much better than any of the other videos I've seen thank you for your time and effort and making it
Glad I could help
What brand roll-up did you go with? Looking to install one myself. Thanks
Not sure, I'll have to ask dad.
hey so is this 12 feed wide and 10 ft tall. thats what was printed on door. i think you said 10x8
The instructions say plus one inch only..
That was 'a-door-able'... (ya I know)... 🙂
I would have probably only bolted the top of each rail at the correct spacing first then lowered the door after and checked where the rails would sit perfectly spaced.
How thick are the track brackets on these looking to put one on my dad's garage but he don't have much space
Sadly I don't k own, installed this a long time ago and it's not near me.
Dude, good video. Fixin to install two, 10'HX12W doors, just like this. I've been back n forth over the instruction manual and this capped it perfectly. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Your are explaining this procedure of the installation better than Janus . Appreciate the video..They need to hire you or pay you for the video
Thank you! This was actually my first ever door install. I'm very happy with the way it went.
Wondering who manufactured the door and where it was purchased.
Where did you get your door?
My dad bought it from a local dealer in Starke Florida.
I'm looking for that 10 second video that gives me all of your years of experience and makes me a professional 😂. I do appreciate you making this video, me and my buddy are going to install one today 😬. Alkahall😬😬😬
This was my first and only door, so you are seeing all my experience lol.
@@TKCL 😂, I told my buddy the first thing we need to do is unwrap everything 🤣
Shop doors have always been a scary project imo. This has given me the confidence to do it myself and save some money. The tractor is a brilliant way to get that roll up there. We will definitely use ours for that. Great video and super easy to follow. Thanks for sharing this.
You can do it! Glad it was helpful.
I didn't see a link for the door that you used in the product list. Could you give some info on it and also a follow up opinion on the doors quality and any issues that you've experienced with it wince it's install? any adjustments or things that you've had to do, etc. Great video and I appreciate the detail
I didn't buy it, my father did from a local store so no link is available. I've not heard him talk about any issues or adjustments needed. It's working well.
Hi Andrew, great video, man your good at that stuff and you explain things so well even stupid me can understand 😉. Your Dads garage looks good, it’s really coming along nice.
👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Appreciate you watching!
Just picked up this door for our metal building. Thanks for posting
Hope it's helpful
I have a 30x40 building like yours. They installed my 2 doors the back breaking way. They put them together on the floor, and basically pole vaulted them into place.
I can see that working too, but a little scary.
I had a thought and not sure if its really a concern. With that being a shop, and you have done a lot to keep it fairly well sealed down low (I see the eves are open) Is there a plan for ventilation down low? most flammable fumes are heavy and may not vent out through the eves, and I am assuming there are several sources of such fumes from equipment/paints/fuel storage etc that will be stored in there.
No plans, that pretty much how every shop I've ever seen is vented. Dad is installing a big vent fan at the rear.
Nicely done, Andrew! Will you be installing brush seals on the outside of the door? They will help to keep out both bugs and drafts.
Take care and God Bless.
No, I just installed it how my father purchased it. That entire shop has open ventilation, so drafts are expected.
I am surprised you did not paint the inside of the door frame before installing the tracks. The paint would help seal it from the weather. Good install over all. When you do it right the first time, you don't have to do it twice!
Entire structure is framed out of pt lumber FYI. Shouldn't be a problem
Thanks for all the info. Do you remember where you got the roll up doors?
My dad bought it from a local store in Starke Florida.
Nice 👍 easy explanation
I noticed that when you buy the bars in at the top to catch the door from coming out of the tracks, it gave a little bit. What if you put a long, more thicker metal bar that ran from one side to the other. Just thinking that might make it stiffer and stronger when it meets that.
As long as you don't slam your doors I've not seen any ill effects. I have similar shop doors in my shop for years and seen no damage.
Great instructions, who is the manufacturer? Thanks
Not sure on that door, it's been a while since I installed it.
👍💞
Thank you
Good morning hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Looking forward to the Livestream
Thank you for watching
What company did you get the doors from ? After watching your video I believe ill attempt it . Thank you for the great instructional video
It was a small company in Starke Florida. I don't remember the name offhand.
@@TKCL okay Thank you for getting back with me
Hi, Andrew! Great job on the garage door. I love the way it opens and closes with the chain. See you and Miss Tiffany in a couple of hours.
Thank you for watching
👀
Nice install. Where did y’all purchase the door at?
Not sure to be honest, I'll have to ask dad.
That's what I'm looking for. The quality looks good. Could I get the brand or company name?
I'd have to reach out to my dad, I don't remember seeing the name of it.
@@TKCL Ok. I would appreciate that. Thanks.
Know your dad will enjoy his shop and now your mom knows he has a great place to work that is well and safely built.....great job!
She's very happy to see it nearing completion.
This was the most helpful video I’ve seen. Very detailed. Not like some other installers. Thank you again
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome diy video. Thank you for sharing. 🤠
Thank you for watching
You made your dad’s work shop secure Andrew nice work ❤👍😊

See you soon
This was awesome. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Andrew, I live in NW Florida. Where is the best place to purchase a roll up door like this?
Dad got his from Santa Fe Overhead doors in Lake Butler..... Very near your area.
Did you buy the rollup door?
Anything you don't know how to do?:))))
Plenty
Wonder what size is that door?? Appreciate you info

He sure is
Great video seems pretty simple to install
It was
Do you have any issues with the door scratching/scuffing itself up when it rolls up on itself without the felt strips?
This has rubber protectors in the track, no issues with rolling up.
@@TKCL oh ok. I was referring to the curtain wheel it rolls on itself, the metal to metal contact.
Ahhh I see, last time I was at dad's I didn't see any wear, but I'm sure eventually it will.
pretty easy install!
It really was
where did your dad get the door?
A small local company in Stark Florida. Let me know if I need to dig up the name. Not sure they ship.
