What if you stayed in uk for 6 months and go out from uk then comeback after 1 year ? Does my international driver licence expires or each time you go out and in it restart the time for expiry
Chief, great content. My question is: I came to the UK last year on April, but never really needed to drive until now. Can I still apply for the International DL with my Kenyan DL? It's been more than a year since I landed.
Legally you can’t drive with international license after one year. So I would advise you apply for provisional licence, book your theory test and then when you pass your practical test you can legally drive here
The truth about insurance is that it’s a tricky one. One insurance company could give you a higher quote while another company gives you a medium rate… I would suggest you try Confused.com , Gocompare , GoSkippy. Try them out. Good luck
This is the same issue am having, my hubbys license expired today by the date on it but yesterday police flagged him down and told him he can still drive since he entered the country 5th of may last year... Am really scared if this is true or not.
What if my drivers license was issued in November 2022 and I enter the UK let’s say April 2023. Does it still expire in November 2023 ? Or till April 2024
Yes you must have a local license before you can qualify to have international license. That’s the way. So you are expected to have the Nigeria local license first because that proves you have passed all the nigerian driving requirements before you can qualify to have their international licence to drive in another country
No, you don’t need to. Just keep it on you anytime you are driving should in case you are flagged down by the police until you get your full UK 🇬🇧 license
You can’t as a Nigerian .. sorry check again… The ‘designated countries or territories’ are: Andorra, Australia, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Republic of North Macedonia, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and Zimbabwe
This is educating. Thanks for sharing this information with us
Thank you for watching

What if I travel back home to renew and re-enter the UK

Provided you have stayed outside the UK 🇬🇧 more than 120 days then you will start afresh to count your international driving licence. So yeah
I arrived in UK when I was 14 but I got my international license last month, can i use it until it’s valid?
Can we drive in UK for 12 months as an International student on my Pakistan’s liscence?

Welcome

I already have a provisional and looking to get a car ASAP. Already taking driving lessons and looking to take the exam early next year

Thanks Donracy. Do you have any tips on which insurance companies give cheap insurance to international license holders

He can still drive as they told him yeah
With this long queue for practical test
I know. It’s very difficult now to get a date but with cancellation app one can bring it closer

It will expire in November not April . So it’s better you get a new one to cover a long time for you. Sorry for late response

If i bring an international driver's licence to the UK, do i have to go and present it to the Licencing Authority before i start driving?

@@donracysdiary4846 thank you
Can I use my Nigeria driver license
Yes you can use Nigeria 🇳🇬 international license which is valid only for a year. How long have you been in the UK 🇬🇧?
@@donracysdiary4846I think he meant the local (regular) license used in Nigeria. Can one use that one also?
