- This week the boys go on a hunt with very different setups. Keith with pellets, Norm with slugs! We have an FX Maverick, an FX Crown, a SaberTactical Chassis, the new Element Helix 4-16 x 44mm, crazy good tripods from Utah Airguns, I mean this hunt is absolutely packed with cool stuff. Here is a hint if you like shooting tripod. I've been photographer for years and a shooter. The Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 is one of the strongest ball heads at 120+ lbs. RRS can't touch it. This certain monoball has been around for 40+ years and is liquid smooth. I have my 20 year old one that now is my shooting head. The default clamp fits modern arca-swiss rails on our guns (where did they learn that ;-) New ones are around the same prices as RRS heads but if you can snag an old one for a deal it won't disappoint. There is no flex on these heads. They were heavy duty since old photo gear was heavy. Win-win for shooting. Enjoy and thanks for the vids.

Got my M3 i ordered on your advice, put the Element Titan per your advice. Used JSB Exacts 81gr. Ordered Strelok pro at your advice. Took it out for the first time using just the air Utah Air left in it. We ranged a beer bottle at 178yds and dialed it with a 14mph cross wind @22° left to right in our face. Busted the bottle so easy. This is by far the most accurate piece i've ever owned. So glad i listened to you guys. Top notch. Cant wait to put a scope cam on this Titan and get some footage.

I got my maverick tuned to 990 fps with 25 hybrids. Finally got one hole groups at 25 yards. Reg at 145. It's grouping 1/2 inch at 50 yards. That's a 5 shot group. All it really took was bumping up my regulator a bit and playing with the hammer wheel. Thanks for everything you guys do.

Awesome shooting guys….well Norm 😁. Everyone has an off day. I got back from the range Monday and just losing my s#!t with my .308. Got home, started to clean it, and not only were the scope bases a little loose, the gun was loose in the stock! Made me feel a little better, and a lot stupid. 🤪. Need to do a vid with your new truck gun. I just found out Fox airpower is literally 10-15 min away from me. I’m hoping he’s gets those carbines in in a few weeks. Now the chore is finding .30 cal ammo. NSA just moved to Missouri, I guess, and there’s nothing at the big stores. Congrats on American Airgunner! Anyway…. awesome video as usual.

so the new scope is 2.2 ounces lighter than the previous Helix and .1 inch shorter with a smaller objective for increased fov.

Bossing I like it scope..good long range shooting
I use similar,setup for taking photos with expensive camera, and although the tripod does hold the camera and larger lenses fine, I always use a strap to secure the camera to tripod in addition to the clamp when I'm walking. I've had it save my bacon a few times when I forgot to clamp the camera securely enough, and it worked loose while walking. The strap held the camera from falling to,ground

Definitely was a fun video guys. Lots of cool equipment to look at. I watched Matt's intro of the Helix 4-16 x44 yesterday and that is definitely on the wish list, thinking a couple of them even. Slap one on the .243 "winny" Mtn rifle and the other one for an airgun. Scope cam footage might be a little clearer than your previous but hard to say..?? Matt makes a good argument with the shallower deflection angle on the bell but I am not convinced just yet.Either way its all good stuff. I spent the last several weeks in Seattle as my mom is in hospice but did have opportunity to school my big brother on using the P-rod he bought from me. He had never used a pcp before and was blown away by how accurate and fun it is. I didn't tell him that it is on the lower end of performance as far as pcp air guns go....he is pretty jacked up and ready to shoot so he will figure it out or not, either way another air gunner brother is born. My sister joined us one evening and outshot us both (with a lame shoulder I might add). First time the three of us have done something like that in many years and it was absolutely delightful.Be blessed with all that you need.

Here in Brazil, unfortunately, an Impact costs 15 or 20 times a salary (mine at least), so I bought an Avenger, I'm really happy, but I feel a little lack of power in it.
Maybe one day an FX will arrive and I can send you a video of a long shot!

Hey Keith or Norm! My maverick is leaking right out of the second regulator. Right out where you adjust it. What's going on...I'm afraid to take it apart. What do you think I should do?
It leaks if I turn it..and will hold air if it's all the way in.
Question how much or little do you add on a up hill or down hill shot mostly speaking of silo shots or barns shots on pigeons useing slugs or pellets
Great question. Nothing for a normal barn shot. But on silo shots depending on angle. And distance. Tough but my general rule is bottom of bird

Im thinking about getting an FX gun. They seem to be good hunting, without the risk of shooting something far far away with a bullet when you miss. Also sound wise, you cant beat a PCP gun.

Let's say you have 2 rifles one of them shoot 34gn slugs at 960fps and the other one 44 gn at the same velocity 960 fps. My question is: witch slug is gonna be more vulnerable on the wind? 34gn or 44gn?. 🙄🙄 cheers.
They are shooting 44gn hybrid slugs and 33gn jsb king heavy

Norm is right. In your scenario the lighter slug loses. Weight and speed are pretty key!

I was considering one of these two guns as my second FX purchase but stuck in deciding. I like the fact the Maverick, can shoot slugs as well as pellets. With that said I was going to keep my 25 cal Impact as a pellet gun and maybe get a Maverick and turn it into a slug gun but what caliber is the question. I think the 25 has the most flexibility to go up or down with weight. If you had a choice between these two guns what would be your choice and what caliber ?
Intense decision bc they are both so close. But if i had to choose one i would go crown because its so comfortable. And yes to 25! Also with the crown you can add an arrow kit for 100 bucks and it is a super fun add on. Cant do that with the maverick

I did have a maverick from airgun depot for two weeks and a seal blew out; They refunded and never got another one. I feel the impact is very similar but just better.
What is the best slugs for 100 + meters in 22 and do I need to change my barrel from the maverick?

I just got the .25 caliber and I’m looking to lay the smack down but stay efficient with my shots . I ordered the slug power kit and heavy barrel. I’m going to start with 35 grain slugs . What is a good weight range to not have to max the regs out ? Or what weight is considered “ heavy “

Its tim again question when you fill your gun why does the first two or 3 shots off then on 4th or 5th shot pellet on pellet at 50yds thought u might shed a little light on this if you would
Could be a few reasons for something like that. Reg creep is one. The other is if the barrel warms it takes a few shots to cool it back down with the compressed air

I've always wondered in the very rare occasion that you miss, does it hurt the roof of the building or the silo. You would think that it would leave a hole in the roof, or is there a trick to it like shooting at a certain angle or are the roofs just tough enough to stand up to a pellet?

You nailed it, its all about keeping a proper angle so they ricochet instead of penetrate. Or, if we cant get the angle we want we just dont shoot

Hey guys..I have a slow leak in my maverick...about 10 bar an hour and then it slows down to a stop at about 200 bar...any ideas why..? Thank you guys.
99% of leaks is simply a loose pressure gauge. Id see if you can tighten one of the gauges a little. Dont go crazy.

Actually no, lol. I tossed the heavies in them and sighted in. All looked good. Then on slomo i could see some spiral. So im going back to 25 grain at 880
@@68Whiskey lol ok,i got my .25 M3 shooting the 34g mk2s at 960fps and its sub moa on most days ( other days its my fault !) So seeing you experienced guys shooting them at 860fps gave me other ideas.

So I’m trying to turn the hammer spring tensioner on my .30 mk2 impact. But it won’t turn. What can I do?
You dont have the rifle cocked right? And you can back out the allen screw if someone has maxed it out on you.
@@68Whiskey it’s not cocked. And I tried backing it out and in but it won’t budge.
If this is a new rifle i would call fx usa or Utah depending on where you got it. If its used, i would try the same but the previous owner may have locktited it in place
