    NIce job gentlemen!! THIS IS WHAT IM TALKIN 'BOUT! Perfect intro to HOW to shoot---for a challenge. I think MANY folks are plain intimidated (maybe it just me!) to even attempt to shoot along you airgun icons!! That said, it would be an awesome time nonetheless ........great video!

    Kicked my ass by a mile. 😁 You guys have been shooting every bit as long as I have, if not longer, so what I’m about to spout is like comparing apples to oranges so far as the hardware goes. First of all, having a buddy to complete with is some of the best help you two have, and you give each other good feedback. We’d go to the range after deer season primarily to blow off steam and play. We’d hit the rimfire range, everyone dropped a dollar and we’d go to town on the silhouettes. There’s between 20-25 of them, haven’t shot them in a while, and each would shoot till he’d miss. Sometimes we’d just let the pot grow, and whoever shot the most, in the end, won the pot. I’ve won as much as I’ve lost. 😁. But, and I’m sure you guys know this, that whether your shooting a semi (my go too is my 10-22, with hi-caps) or a bolt (my Marlin .22 mag) you just get into a rhythm…cock, move, track/sight, shoot, reload, rinse and repeat, and once you hit that sweet spot between all those you’re set. And you’re right paper is different than a potentially moving target, different set of variables. Either way that was a good practice session. I’d be worried about going up against you 😬. Anyway hope to see you guys there. Anything would be a break from the valley heat. If not, good luck and please get as much action filmed as you guys can. FINALLY getting to go to the range tomorrow. It’s been stupid hot here. 110 with 50-60+% humidity, usually in the 90’s by 1000 hrs. It’s actually only 68 with 58% humidity now. 🙄. So I’ll finally get to re-sight in my air guns with the new no-limit mounts. Try to get my .308 and .270 dialed a bit better for deer season. Been working up a few loads for those. We’ll see…..anyway thank you guys for the time you put into your videos. Someone mentioned below, I learn something more, little by little, although most us have been playing for decades now. Never too old to learn something new. Take it easy and stay safe.

    Man! So much to take away in terms of dynamics, I was surprised by that fact while watching this. Well done guys. Having grown up out west I can tell you that wind will be a HUGE factor. That coupled with the thinner air and almost zero humidity creates some thought provoking ballistic concepts to think about. The other glaring thing at least for me, was I could see that both of you were (hard to describe) self conscious? Maybe not the correct descriptor but it definitely is different shooting venue compared to what you normally do. By no means am I being critical but rather am trying to contribute to your success in prepping my brothers. Norm, I was totally empathizing with your progressive interaction with the heat.....phew you looked hot man. Be blessed with all that you need!

But I have put a target on my dam at 100 yds and can keep it on paper. 100 yds for a pcp is a long way. So keep this series coming. I will learn right along with you.

If you could only do a holographic image over the targets I'm pretty sure you guys would be close to X's on all of them. And I agree with you Norm sticking to your normal way of shooting will definitely make a difference. Cheers 🍻 guys.

    Thank you Keith and Norm. I would say you guys did great for a first attempt. I have watched the RMAC and the winds there are horrific. They are ever changing and very strong coming off those mountains. Also, the closer one is to the left, or right birm, the more the wind swirls. It looks like very difficult shooting environment at the RMAC. I don't think that one can dope the wind out there. Are you guys thinking of going this year? 😏

    Are you shooting a .22 cal ?

  • @joegonzalez6346
    @joegonzalez6346 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice shooting... What do you mean by 35 cal plug? How do you add score, other than add all the shot placements? X count for more or just for tiebreakers? Also, out of curiosity, is target measured from front of the bench/muzzle or somewhere else? I suppose it doesn't matter much once you sight in at given distance/bench. How far apart are the bullseye from each other (left to right, up and down)? Thanks

    • @68Whiskey
      @68Whiskey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A plug makes all holes appear 35 caliber. So if that breaks the line you get the higher score. And you add all of them to get final score. The targets are about three inches apart i would say.

    What scope do you recommend for 100yard bench rest? I have a .25 raw and just got a .30 raw . Im trying to figure out which one is better for 100yard accuracy and consistency. I don’t want a Chinese made scope . Im willing to pay for a great scope for both rifles.

    • @68Whiskey
      @68Whiskey  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats such a hard question to answer. Lots of great choices and some of them are Chinese. I won RMAC with sn element nexus (japanese), the Athlon like has a 60 power im using now, i also really like the valdadda. There is a nee element scope called theos that is amazing but pricey. Night Force has many options that are good. The list is endless

    Just something to think about
    Say you had a barn that was 150ft [50yds] long and you could shoot inside it
    The first test would be to shoot a group with absolutely no wind effect
    Then on a windy day do 40yds inside the barn and 10 yds of wind at the muzzle
    Then on the same windy day 40yds inside and 10 yds in front of the target
    The theory being WIND AT THE MUZZLE HAS A GREATER EFFECT THAN WIND AT THE TARGET
    Anyway something to think about for RMAC
