    Food intolerance can cause CKD. Very few doctors are trained to in this vital medical condition. Food intolerance and the damage to human body is the least understood eg high blood pressure caused by food intolerance.

    I quit eating eggplant because I was under the impression it was harmful to CKD...how do you tell a papaya is ripe?

    • @HealUbyUs
      @HealUbyUs  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thankyou for sharing your experience with us regarding eggplant. But remember that moderation is key. A cup of eggplant cubes (82 grams) has around 187.8 mg of potassium, which is considered moderate, but still needs to be accounted for; especially for a person with CKD.
      A ripe papaya's skin is predominantly yellow or orange coloured. Avoid papayas with large, dark, or mouldy patches as they may be overripe or spoiled. Plus, if it's skin is slightly wrinkled (not too soft or mushy), its a sign that papaya has been fully ripened.

    What about phosporous? I thought milk had a lot of phosphate?

    • @HealUbyUs
      @HealUbyUs  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The amount of phosphorus a kidney patient can safely consume depends on phosphorus levels in his/her blood. If taken in small amounts, Greek yogurt's phosphorus/potassium content is less likely to affect these minerals, and provides many essential nutrients that a kidney patient might need. Still, its best to consult with your healthcare expert who can give you personalized guidance based on your individual electrolyte/mineral levels and kidney health.

    I read that almonds can cause kidney stones. Is this true?

    • @gerib4234

      They are high in oxalates.

    • @HealUbyUs
      @HealUbyUs  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Almonds are high in oxalates and can cause calcium oxalate stones if taken in excessive quantities. Limit your intake to not more than 20 almonds/day to avoid stone formation

    How many oz er day do you recommend?

    • @HealUbyUs
      @HealUbyUs  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The recommended amount of the food/snack a kidney disease patient can safely eat mainly depends on the amount of protein, oxalates, some minerals (calcium, sodium, potassium, phosphorous, etc), and sugar in it, particularly if he/she is diabetic. Your doctor/registered dietician can help you figure out the suitable diet plan according to your individual needs and health condition.
