I live near STL and work downtown. 😁 Chris just came through here in September at the Amphitheatre and I had goosebumps from beginning to end! (Except when he sang Maggie, which is just a trauma waiting to happen for dog lovers. I bawled the whole song and it took me two songs to get my happy back! But hey, it's life and that's what he does.) That was one amazing concert! He just comes out, doesn't say much, does his thing, we all adore him and he leaves. Lol. FABULOUS! I'll listen to him sing anything. Except Maggie... 😉
This man has me a true believer in genetic memory, and considering the possibility of reincarnation. If anyone has been here before, from the same region, it’s him. He writes and sings with the pain of a Great Depression sharecropper.
It's a dirge. Early on you can hear the chains as he's walking. The pace is that of a man walking in chains. The reverb/echo is what it might sound like walking down a concrete corridor covered in years of coats of paint. Brilliant stuff.
This is one of my fav Stapleton songs. Underrated for sure. So happy to find this reaction. I'm going to his concert in 6 days and praying he sings this !
1st viewer love love You Both and Chris Stapleton all in one video yeah for me. This song is deep and makes you feel as all of his songs seem to do. Love y’all
LOVE this song, it’s so funky, Chris is something special….And Yessss, Chris Cornell’s version of Nothing compares to u is 🔥 Prince wrote poetry, Sinead O’Connor created a hit and Cornell made a masterpiece on that song and that’s them ghosts moving ur camera around Asia 😉 😂
Love this one especially when you have someone you love in prison! AND THERES NOT ONE THING YOU CAN DO TO GET THEM OUT! Man this song hits!! ❤️Tennessee
The tempo sounds like people swinging a pick Ax, busting rocks, or a sledge hammer driving railroad spikes. It creates a picture in your mind, before he ever sings a word.
I think that metal grinding sound is a passing train. Johnny Cash famously sang about how the train mocked his lack of freedom; I suspect all prisoners hate that sound. Deep down blues.
I really enjoy y'all reacting to viedos. Please do burning love by Elvis. The aloa version live 1973. I'm 6ft3 210. Use to sing some Elvis and Eagles. Thanks. I've hurt my back. Just chilling. Y'all make a good team.
One of the rules on death row is not to disturb to other inmates . And when you walk the green mile , walk slow! That's why he chose this sound of music ! The beat is like a man walking down the hall! Don't breathe fast , walk slow and don't make eye contact with the inmates! Just keep walking!
My brother has been to prison for YEARS... but in visiting him man oh man... terrible place to be can’t imagine solitary.... Tennessee I should add he’s out now! 😜
Hearing the prison doors squeaking and groaning adds to that hopeless feeling in this song, amazing!
It definitely makes you feel like you’re in there ! 🤣🤣🤣
