Have you ever found a baby bird in your garden? 🐣
Yes we did, don't know the English name for this bird, but this very shy wild bird stayed with us.... walked around in our house like a little Duck and flew around, he had landing places all over our house (build it for him)! He lived with us until his natural death! We loved him dearly and his name was Diamond!

I grew up raising baby birds I found.
Diamond was lucky because he was truly beloved

I found a woodcock and nursed him back to health, watched him return to the wild- it was truly one of the most rewarding moments in my life and I will never ever forget it.

@@atheistsince1210 There are some native tribes where the owl is an omen of death/misfortune I'm pretty sure, I havent looked much into it
I looked up on the internet and they said that owls don't like to be petted, but I think that must not be the case for babies, because it's really the only way I can get mine to calm down is to speak gently and caress its head. It always clicks its beak at me if I get too close, but if I start petting its head it starts to calm down. It lost its mother in a storm last night and I've been taking care of it until we can find a rescue for them to take it in. I don't really know how to take care of an owl, so I've just been feeding it worms, watering it, petting it, and talking gently to it. I am just doing what I instinctually believe is best for the owl, but I would really like to have a rescue take care of it, since they know a lot more about it than I do. I will miss the owl when I do find a rescue, but I cannot imagine I would be an adequate parent to it on a permanent basis. But I am going to miss those cute big eyes even if most of the time it looks like it is afraid for its life.

We had several owls on a farm that I grew up on. We had two large barns with open rafters that the owls liked to nest in, probably because of mice. Anyway, they are not all cute, cuddly and nice. In fact, they can become aggressive and mean. We learned to never turn our backs on them and that they taste very very similar to partridge.
