I do not understand this common flip phone hate. The outer screen is meant to be limited functionality. The whole point of a flip phone is to "flip it" open. If the outer screen had the same functionality as the inner main screen, then that literally contradicts the entire concept. That would be a miniature "slab" phone....in that case Shut up and buy a normal phone.

yeah lol I've been using flip5 for a year now and honestly i will never go back to a slab phone. can't even fit a slab phone in my pocket and it's just too big to carry.

I have had a Z Flip 3 for now four years and it remains perfect since the day I got it. When the time comes to trade it in, I will get another Z Flip phone.

I think the continuous screen is sorta unnecessary also. I bet people ditch this and go to borderless separate screens or just separate screens. But you will find, if you get one, that you strongly prefer to use only the cover screen unless you absolutely must open it.
I have a Flip 3 too since the release! Still love it! So funky and fun. It also feels very smooth. The Flip 6 looks and feels very stiff and boring in comparisson, Idk... I also hear only bad things about it, like many problems and short comings.
I dont mind the front screen being a bit more limited. I am buying this phone for its form factor and dont mind the camera and full screen shortfalls. If i wanted a min-max phone I would get the latest glass sandwich phone. Praying that we eventually go back to sliding physical keyboard phones because that was the funnest era in phones 😭

Very helpful review. I own a Flip6 and it's the first phone I've ever gotten excited about since the original Motorola Razor (in the late 1990s). It's compactness is a charm and I use the cover screen a lot--very handy.
I've had the flip six for about 2 weeks now. It seems to photograph things pretty well, but it doesn't do a very good job with people. I tried to do a group picture of a poker night I had the other night, and the camera was maybe 15 ft away from the group of people, I took three different photos and most everybody's face is a little blurry when you zoom in even a little bit. I made sure I selected the 50 MB camera, which is kind of ridiculous that you have to press every time you want to use it.
This is very enticing. I really love flip phone and just waiting for the samsung to have more stable flip phone and I think this is the time. I only used my phone for just communication and some social media so I’m not that picky. That is why I love the simplicity of the iphone. So I’m torn if I will switch now😵💫
It’s definitely more durable than their previous flip models, but if you don’t care about specs being the newest, I would say to wait for the price to drop

My flip 6 has a line in the middle after 5 weeks without dropping it. But when I took of the case that needs adhesive strips I scratched the back, it is not covered under warranty. Buyer beware .
Yeah had for less than 3 months and the fold is coming undone. Also heats up ridiculously quick on any charger even the ones that cost a ton! Worst part is you just mentioned how it stays charged so long but it doesnt. Mine needs charged 2-3x a day and again its barely 3 months old.
Is it only my problem that my flip 6 gets overheat quickly? Like I just take several photos indoor literally in cool place but it gets overheat? Also when I record video even less than 2 min it starts to overheat???? I just got mine a month and a half and this issue happened from the start. Is this only mine? I don't use it for games. Literally. Even on a regular phone I barely like it. The side fingerprint scanner is perfect, you can rest your finger on it to authenticate so much faster rather than waiting for the option on screen

The folded up design and usage is immaculate. So I just want a square phone with a little screen and it only has a folded side, of solid metal and no screen, to contain the battery/contain storage medium/act as a tripod/make talking on the phone better.
Can you use earphones with mic to talk with the Flip 6? So the type-c port is for charging and can also be used for wired talk? Suppose can’t charge and earphones chat at the same time.
wait a bit people are getting bubbles problems in the crease on the 6 and keep returning it after 2 weeks. like a line of tiny bubbles... or near camera so maybe wait a bit so that people have more thoughts on this maybe.
It's a plastic covered screen with a super thin layer of glass underneath. Yes, somehow someone figured out how to make glass bend without breaking. It feels much like a standard phone except for the slight crease in the center. Samsung says the phone is good for 200,000 opens which is crazy unless you're addicted to your phone. That's still about the normal lifespan of a phone, Flip or otherwise.
I have the 5 and the main screen is the weakness of the design.. i.e. nothing much is changed... I like the portability of the flip but it's got it's drawbacks for sure..

@@baylee8909 After a month my main screen became completely unresponsive. Took it to Verizon and they ordered a "warranty return" for me. In two days I had a brand new Flip 6. This one seems to be fine. Not sure why the other one quit working but evidently it was a problem with early Flip 6 builds and they're pulling them out of the market as they can. If you're interested in the Flip then I'd wait a couple months to make sure you don't get a ticking time bomb. At least the warranty covered everything including overnight shipping. No money out-of-pocket for me.
They're very different phones. I've had the Flip 4 since May 2023 and don't think I'll over go back to a standard brick phone. I think you'll love having a flip.
I made the same exact upgrade. I wouldn't say that the Flip 6 "is as good" as the S24 is faster than than the S21 and the S21 is faster than the Flip 6. However, the Flip 6 seems to have a longer "learning process" and eventually it will only be a little slower and depending on phone usage it may not even be noticeable. I mainly wanted to try the Flip 6 since I usually put my phone in my shirt pocket and it was heavy and the S24 was even larger and heavier than the S21.
Did you get one? The "front" screen can have a couple widgets which I rarely use like weather, alarms, or a calculator but you can also see if you got any messages and you don't have to open the phone to answer them. The keyboard is oddly shaped and a little challenging to use but Samsung has a bunch of "auto responses" that are generated based on what was sent and you can edit them to respond however you like.
My wife is saying the same thing. She misses the Samsung ecosystem. We currently have Pixel 7 but she's not happy with the pixel. My earpiece speaker stopped working and rather get it replaced I'm just planning on upgrading and replacing the darn thing in a few months. We're strongly considering the Flip 6. She likes the design and the functionality. We gave Pixel a try but we're heading back to Samsung lol.
I’ve seen most people use the small front screen with the good cameras to take selfies. The selfie camera quality is not great. But since you can use the other side and see yourself a lot of people said it didn’t bother them.

Bad: worst quality I ever experienced. Usb port broke and a few day later the touchscreen. It's a nightmare because I can't save my pictures and so on. Never ever buy this phone except you like to suffer.
No, you can't remove everything but you can remove quite a bit and as @inoob26 says it can all be disabled and have permissions restricted. It takes some time but I've got my Flip 6 pretty locked down. It doesn't help that newer Android system settings are such a pain to locate.
I removed all the Samsung bloatware by following this video "How to Uninstall Redmi Note 9 Bloatware & System Apps with ADB?" seems complicated, but it was actually pretty easy.
For me, its all about the crease in the center of the phone. It's unattractive and noticeable. Why doesn't Samsung accept the fact that there's a hinge there and show it? Let there be two screens when the phone is opened instead of one with a crease in the middle. Find interesting ways to make this phone add to the user experience with the "feeling" of two screens.

Im a samsung user and even I'll say iPhone. The phone (flip) is cute and fun BIT if it's anything like the 5th edition, it comes with a fatal flaw. The manufactured screen protector will start to bubble after a bit at the crease. Samsung will only cover one screen protector replacement and they'll make you send your phone away. Battery life sucks too

if you referring to Z FLIP 6 it’s better and the battery is now ok… iphone 15 only has 60hz this the reason it will hold you back if you’re from 120hz phone display.
We are having a terrible experience with this phone!! What a nightmare of a purchase! My husband got this phone, at first we had a huge problem with the phone as it used to heat up rapidly, even if you use google maps of play music on the phone via Bluetooth! We took it back to Samsung and they eventually after many weeks of study from their end (I had to use another phone in the meantime transfer all data- just imagine the trouble we had to go through inspite of buying a new phone!) agreed to exchange it for another new piece. Now out of nowhere the whole screen keeps flickering and now we have no idea when the phone will fully conk out. A phone is so important these days, all our work calls and messages and life depends on a phone and we cannot afford this after spending such a bomb on the phone! Would not recommend this phone for anyone. Save yourselves the trouble.
might as well just make a half size phone if you just gonna use the front screen instead of flip it open... or samsung just need to get rid of the front screen and like the old flip phone, has a tiny led only let you know the time lmao
iPhone is now just trying to sell the new series by changing the cameras. Could the simplest iPhone silicone cover sharpening cost 59 Euros? It makes more sense to buy Samsung new phones and similar ones than iPhone phones and at least you can see that there are many improvements in the phone.
This phone is a horror for me. Im working with metal. Machining etc. The magnets sooner or later will destroy it again. Especially with these soft screens

All of these so called fancy phones and gimmics and really need to be taken off the market Because when it breaks - the price of replacement screen is $600 to $900 dollars... and No samsung wont cover this or honor warranty or third party company will also not cover this either...

Because it works like a normal phone, the only addition is that when you receive a call while it’s folded you can see it from the cover screen, you can either answer it while the phone is folded or unfolded
All phones work the same in terms of making and receiving calls. What sets phones apart form each other is the extra features. What would be the point of “reviewing” a basic function?

You can go to camera settings > settings to keep > high picture resolutions and it will keep it in 50mp!

Underscreen fingerprint sensors don't make any sense on a foldable phone.

no, you better not. putting any additional screen protector for the main screen can damage the screen.
If you're talking about the folding screen, it already has one factory installed. So it is best NOT to put one on since it already has one installed.

Had mine for about 4 months now and looks like it still bran new out the box ........this phone is pimp better then any apple product I ever owned

If you watch some videos on its durability, you’ll see that the 6 is much more durable then the x flip 5

This one seems to be fine. Not sure why the other one quit working but evidently it was a problem with early Flip 6 builds and they're pulling them out of the market as they can. If you're interested in the Flip then I'd wait a couple months to make sure you don't get a ticking time bomb. At least the warranty covered everything including overnight shipping. No money out-of-pocket for me.

They're very different phones. I've had the Flip 4 since May 2023 and don't think I'll over go back to a standard brick phone. I think you'll love having a flip.
I made the same exact upgrade. I wouldn't say that the Flip 6 "is as good" as the S24 is faster than than the S21 and the S21 is faster than the Flip 6. However, the Flip 6 seems to have a longer "learning process" and eventually it will only be a little slower and depending on phone usage it may not even be noticeable. I mainly wanted to try the Flip 6 since I usually put my phone in my shirt pocket and it was heavy and the S24 was even larger and heavier than the S21.
honestly I want the front screen to be limited in feature. its gonna lead to me beimg distracted a lot less (hopefully)
Did you get one? The "front" screen can have a couple widgets which I rarely use like weather, alarms, or a calculator but you can also see if you got any messages and you don't have to open the phone to answer them. The keyboard is oddly shaped and a little challenging to use but Samsung has a bunch of "auto responses" that are generated based on what was sent and you can edit them to respond however you like.

My wife is saying the same thing. She misses the Samsung ecosystem. We currently have Pixel 7 but she's not happy with the pixel. My earpiece speaker stopped working and rather get it replaced I'm just planning on upgrading and replacing the darn thing in a few months. We're strongly considering the Flip 6. She likes the design and the functionality. We gave Pixel a try but we're heading back to Samsung lol.

I’ve seen most people use the small front screen with the good cameras to take selfies.
The selfie camera quality is not great. But since you can use the other side and see yourself a lot of people said it didn’t bother them.

If you mean the cases for the phone, no I tried. The bottom half of the flip 5 cases fit the 6 but the top half doesn't

Ομως αναγκαστηκα στο κατω μερος θηκης κ μεγαλωσα την τρυπα του μεγαφωνου .

No, you can't remove everything but you can remove quite a bit and as @inoob26 says it can all be disabled and have permissions restricted. It takes some time but I've got my Flip 6 pretty locked down. It doesn't help that newer Android system settings are such a pain to locate.
I removed all the Samsung bloatware by following this video "How to Uninstall Redmi Note 9 Bloatware & System Apps with ADB?" seems complicated, but it was actually pretty easy.

For me, its all about the crease in the center of the phone. It's unattractive and noticeable. Why doesn't Samsung accept the fact that there's a hinge there and show it? Let there be two screens when the phone is opened instead of one with a crease in the middle. Find interesting ways to make this phone add to the user experience with the "feeling" of two screens.

Im a samsung user and even I'll say iPhone. The phone (flip) is cute and fun BIT if it's anything like the 5th edition, it comes with a fatal flaw. The manufactured screen protector will start to bubble after a bit at the crease. Samsung will only cover one screen protector replacement and they'll make you send your phone away. Battery life sucks too

if you referring to Z FLIP 6 it’s better and the battery is now ok… iphone 15 only has 60hz this the reason it will hold you back if you’re from 120hz phone display.

We are having a terrible experience with this phone!! What a nightmare of a purchase! My husband got this phone, at first we had a huge problem with the phone as it used to heat up rapidly, even if you use google maps of play music on the phone via Bluetooth! We took it back to Samsung and they eventually after many weeks of study from their end (I had to use another phone in the meantime transfer all data- just imagine the trouble we had to go through inspite of buying a new phone!) agreed to exchange it for another new piece. Now out of nowhere the whole screen keeps flickering and now we have no idea when the phone will fully conk out. A phone is so important these days, all our work calls and messages and life depends on a phone and we cannot afford this after spending such a bomb on the phone! Would not recommend this phone for anyone. Save yourselves the trouble.
might as well just make a half size phone if you just gonna use the front screen instead of flip it open...

It dosn't matter what flip or fold version - The screen is going to break Like the flip 4 which my friend lost his in 8 months of use. All of these so called fancy phones and gimmics and really need to be taken off the market Because when it breaks - the price of replacement screen is $600 to $900 dollars... and No samsung wont cover this or honor warranty or third party company will also not cover this either...

@@ljacobs357 I know this from one of my friends who had one from Fido And The screen failed, The screen broke right at the crease at 8 monthes of him owning it , - Fido failed to get it fixed and the third party warranty company wouldn't do anything either. So - Like I see it and Say this These are a nice try to reinvent the wheel but will fail. Unless you can prove samsung wrong... The screen is the weak point of these phones And It's not brain science.

Because it works like a normal phone, the only addition is that when you receive a call while it’s folded you can see it from the cover screen, you can either answer it while the phone is folded or unfolded
All phones work the same in terms of making and receiving calls. What sets phones apart form each other is the extra features. What would be the point of “reviewing” a basic function?
