Ever since 2015 when I first started black is my favorite color currently building krrik
I saw a version of k'rrik with equipments.
Mons is a good player so he is very critical of most decks he has on the channel, but I can tell he genuinely enjoyed this deck and the mastermind behind it.
You know me. Yes I am really critical of decks. And I dont like krrik in generall. But I like this list. Just listening to Jess and his ideas behind cards and the WHY! Makes it come together.
The May update is pretty nice too : ) Watched this video several times. BUT I really just want to comment, best video thumbnail on this one! I'm naming my Krik deck "But First I Win" after that

I have played K'rrik and is the only deck I have ever got two turn 1 wins within in the same afternoon. He is super fast but once you pod is familiar with him you get a lot of hate and mulligans for removal. So you need to go a mid ranged control build. But the turbo k'rrik is beautiful when it works.
We got Braids to make Leyline somewhat enjoyable in the early and midrange. If we make the option to clear enchantments a thing, Braids will be a value piece and get a few draws if they decide to keep those RoLs around. ㅇㅅㅇ 👌

Hey there, great deck! I Loved it! Is Balthor and Fleshwrither really good? I feel they are so slow... I play 20 games and I use them 1 time...
Its good enough. Can be pulled from 5 mana… but most important is that every single piece itself is already too good to pass on.
Fleshwrither can be an entomb effect ( vile entomber) or a reanimation spell (balthor) can be a second necrotic ooze and can pull a win from its own

We used defense grid and some people still do but if i remember correctly it was slowish, and hurt more than it helped, as it stopped people from responding to threats and stopping us from using removal

No Onix Smog? 😢 Figured it was decent with Saw in Half and Hoarding Broodlord.
It is a bit expensive and kriik alredy have a bunch of good combo options.
This is my first cedh deck. I’m pretty new but could anyone put out some advice and tips of what this deck wants to do? First, I do understand they kind of explain it in the video but like step by step? Some of the combos seem really confusing and I just want to learn and get better with this deck. I’m going with the list on the link for this vid. I’d love some help! Thanks in advance if anyone out there replies.

How do you feel about sheoldred, the apocalypse? I play in a pretty heavy stax meta and one of the guys in our group has added it. She has done some major work in our meta.
I dont think it is good in this deck but in stax deck it could see some play. A bit expensive tho.

I think it is to slow. Not a bad card but a bit situational and slow. This deck is just trying to be fast.
Would it be worth it to play Snow lands and add Withering Wisps to the deck?
on my first list i was playing snow covered swamps and withering wisps. it was cool at the beggining until i realized it was consistent enough. also, tons of times im sacrificing my lands with lake and scorched ruins

And how can you win with it in play I have a couple people playing it from time to time locally the video is fantastic and goes into great detail I should have been more clear with my question I apologize that being said I’m also wondering why the choice of Braids, Arisen Nightmare ? I’ve used it to sac my own mana crypt at low life but was curious about his reasoning
You have to win before humility comes into play. Black just can't get rid of it. Or you have to win without creatures afterwards.

I saw a list that plays Professor Onyx with Chain of Smog. I find that interesting in mono black! What are your thoughts?
I personally like it. But a lot of people think itis a bit expensive. I have to agree. But for mono black I think we need everything we can get. I don't think it is something for this commander. But other mono black commanders might like it.

Wasnt your point about comparing leyline to scooze just wrong? He just told you it fuels your devotion for Gray Merchant and Nykthos, it literally is doing something for you which you said it isn't, if the point is that it isnt a creature that you cant buff/attack in to get triggers/sacrifice for spells/etc that's the payoff for it being an enchantment I'd say which is harder to interact with.
I think he was talking about the part about scooze gaining him life which would let him do more stuff with the commander
Relax lol. Måns made the point that Leyline unfortunately can't be used _proactively_ to do more. A black permanent increasing your devotion to black is a very minimal passive upside that's practically a given. But Leyline isn't going to net you a card like Dauthi Voidwalker can. Måns agreed that Leyline _is_ still a good card though.

The featured list and the provided decklist link are different deck builds. i find it most interesting you do not run Leshrac's Sigil, As it's a win condition with k'rrik son of yawgmoth and Aetherflux Reservoir. i can understand why you wouldn't want to run Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog as they go against alot of what k'rrik son of yawgmoth wants to do especially since the black color pie has creature support above all else. i find it really interesting you would remove Sensei's Divining Top and Bolas's Citadel as they are just card advantage and with Aetherflux Reservoir it's another win condition you don't need k'rrik son of yawgmoth on the field to win.
i get that Oriq Loremage is "slow" because it's a tap ability but wow, your not running Mastermind's Acquisition but your running Diabolic Tutor. if Pestilience is a "Win condition" for you why not do the Pestilence Demon combo? The only reason no one runs it is because you have to make both k'rrik son of yawgmoth and the Demon indestructible and give the demon Lifelink, which can be done with Rush of Vitality. But most builds run Whip of Erobos.
i personally don't know how Razaketh, the Foulblooded can do much in this deck without running The Book of Vile Darkness, Dreadhorde Invasion, Bitterblossom, or at least Reassembling Skeleton or Gravecrawler. Something that gives you easy creature access.
i recently found Cut Down and i love the kill spell. Allows me to fully stop using Disfigure and Lash of Malice. i find it really interesting that you removed the card.
i personally will never run Ancient Tomb in my k'rrik son of yawgmoth deck, i don't use Phyrexian Tower and i probably should. How are you not running Radiant fountain? it's literally a land that comes into play UNtapped and basically gives you TWO mana.
With what your deck is, i'm surprised your not running Massacre Wurm/Girl. i'm gonna stick to my Doomsday build. i will slowly put your decklist together to better understand it but i don't get how it works and it looks like it's trying to do things other than winning.
Your deck looks like it needs a Font of Agonies, Drag to the Underworld, Fountain of Renewal, Prism Ring, Diamond Mare, Dream Devourer, Fog of Gnats, Mindslicer, Shambling Ghast, Will o the wisp, Urborg Skeleton, Concealing Curtains, and Disowned Ancestor.
Sigil combo requires a lot of lifes to start off. Outside the combo it does literally nothing relevant for the game.
Resevoir was recently swap for Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. Accomplish almost the same task but easier to cast, fodder for razzy, devotion for gary and punishes blue farm decks.
About pestilence demon, you dont need to make it indestructible or anything, you can just win a lot of lifes and then stack the ability multiple times… the reason of not running it is that you need krrik in play plus 5 colorless. If you are going to use an entomb effect for it, vilis accomplish almost the same task (getting rid of creatures) meanwhile drawing your deck.
Citadel was removed since we have other sans krrik combo for it, Hoarding Broodlord. Both combos folds to drannith. Timming with citadel is awkward since you have already cast krrik 1-2 times plus some combat damage… usually by the time you cast it, you probably already did your land drop for it and already down to 16-18 lifes. My list is heavy on lands, i was hitting lands most of the time. The card is not bad, is just that i dont need more combo pieces. Sensei divining top usually is a dead card in early game. I dont have extra mana to spare.
Masterminds acquisitin acts just like diabolic tutor, people tends to misunderstand the use of masterminds acquisition. You CANT get cards from exile zone with it… and recently i even cut diabolic tutor too.
About the board wipes, massacre wurm doesnt kill any relevant creature (most of them are x/3+) specially drannith. Massacre girl is a 5 mana board wipe and can kill your own krrik. Its a no go.
Razaketh is a necrotic ooze tool to assamble its own combo, but also has pretty stable lines outside necrotic. Hope you give it a try. A+, doesnt need extra fodders, you can start easy combo lines with 1 creature into the win.
Ancient tomb is one of the most important lands in the deck. You can play on turn 1 a drop 2 letting you cast krrik easily on turn 2. No other line can do that except for city of traitors, which is worst if the game goes longer.
Radiant fountain was tested, but removed since i prioritize swamp count for my lake of the dead mana base. The deck has been built in a way that you can win in low life count. I even run fetches for other purposes.
The last paragraph i dont even have words to respond for such a bad recommendation 😅
