That Merc has leaking valve cover. When that happens oil gets in to the sparkplug holes and starts misfiring. So probably not a big problem.

That’s a beautiful Benz; was probably halfway parked under a shed; but a dent puller( cheap) on Amazon and have some fun. It’d come out good.

I just parked my 05 Sedona...
Over the last year I've put over a grand and a half into it tryna keep it going..
Over the last month and a half been chasing a damn coolant leak, then the blower motor quit..
Nope, she's parked now and I'm driving a 2014 Ford Explorer PPV...
Working through some small bugs now. Just had a motor mount replaced and the transmission has a flutter in 2nd going into third gear..
Spoke with mechanic at Transmission shop and it's going in for a test next Tuesday morning.. Btw, the trans has a 2 year warranty on it.. Was just rebuilt.. lol.
The mechanic said it sounded like the torque converter clutch..🙄Oi..
Lol, maybe I should've kept the tag on the Kia a little while longer..🤣🤣
But at least I don't have to pay for the work due to the warranty.. lol..

I've spent that much putting stuff into it as it stands now.. lol..
Brakes, tires, belts, hoses, fuel pump, multiple sensors, tune up, battery, and a bunch of other stuff.. lol..

I would take both those S Classes over any Honda or Kia. The older one is a solid project, normally they're rotted out, so although it doesn't look like much, it has potential 😎 the S420 just needs some love.
Incidentally, the tank on those is behind the rear bench. 😉
One question though, you always significantly under value older cars. That 240D is a steal at $2,200. There's strong demand for nice W123 cars. The older 300SD ought to be significantly cheaper, in part due to its condition, but again there is demand for them as well, especially if you can get it running😉

You can pull out the fuse for the dashboard you gages won’t work also it won’t count the miles that might be why only has 80,000k on it

Be careful with that S class. They used a biodegradable wiring harness on these cars for a few years. I got a car and it was scrapped for that reason. :/

That 300sd will run guaranteed. They dont die. Seen many over 600k mile and counting in Haiti
The person that owned the Kia they could’ve kept the car clean get it detailed I like the other car to Mercedes Benz. They only made a few of those cars
I have a honda and every time the battery dies and you start the car the traction ABS and brake lights come on. But after you drive for a mile they clear

Honda’s always throws those lights on when the battery dies but they clear once it’s been driven a while and a few ignition cycles

Those kia moldings are known to flake its a huge issue with them regardless of color the paint cracks and peels off

Meh I am not a huge Kia fans. I had a '09kia sportage. I liked the space but that is all I liked about it. Reliability was horrible and I was going to go out of town for work and I knew the Kia would make it up to the place but not on the way back.

That 300SD isn't worth anywhere near what the 240D is worth. Hopefully somebody gets it to put it back on the road, but I doubt that will happen.

Watching from England. So many cars featured in your recent episodes including the Range Rover you bought have hail damage. Is this a regular issue or has there been a recent severe storm that caused so many cars to be damaged? The fact these cars (including some only 2-3 years old) are in Copart I assume the insurance companies have "written them off" as total damage & uneconomical to repair. That is amazing.

Hi Randy. Do you know that w140 is one of the greatest cars that built by MB. It is the one of the safest, strongest and more comfortable benz according to MB manufacturers. By the way the fuel tank for old Mercedes is in the trunk behind the the back seat.

It would be cheaper to replace all the damage parts on the 1999 Mercedes and just fix the roof. There are a lot of parts out there.

I had a 2018 civic coupe that had battery issues and they always had lights on the dash when it was jumped and restarted. That may be the issue with that one.
