Had a 1991 Cavalier RS with a 3.1 V6.... plenum gasket and head gasket that was due at just 70k miles. But had no issues with the car after these repairs. Kept it 17 years and only repairs, brakes, and mufflers. I consider this car as the best one i've had in term of reliability.
That spanking new Ridgeline just needs a new windshield +with some cool mods lifted shocks, bull-bars, BF-Goodrige tires and a cool graphic livery on, it would be dope..
That's weird. My 2000 Camry Kimberly was involved in a gun often a Katrina flood when hurricane Katrina passed over South Florida in 2005. She literally floated from one end of the parking garage to to the other but never got a drop of water inside the car. Also since the way the parking garage funneled down the water it was all fresh rainwater and not ocean salt assault. I've never had any issues issues due to that and in fact she now has 445000 miles on her today.

I would also change the cabin filter and run an ozone generator in it. Maybe check behind the door panels for moisture. Initially I thought would be a flood car, but dealership theft also crossed my mind.
Older kias Hyundai’s and Toyota’s tend to idle higher to help warm up the cars faster which helps with emissions and gas mileage is better when warmed up. Totally normal. My corolla idles at 1800 when cold and drops in 1-3 minutes depending on temperature

My friend had a similar flood with her Cobalt, parked in an angled driveway that the creek overflowed during the night. Just water entered the front area almost to the pedal pads, back floor just damp. Never reached the seat bottoms. She took pics as she was out of state. Pulled the mats out and shop vac'd it out and let it dry. Did call insurance and drove the car from MA back to CT. Insurance totaled it since water entered the passenger compartment, it was thier policy with flood vehicles. If the water never got inside it wouldn't have been totaled. While there was likely nothing wrong with the car even in the long term they didn't want the liability for years to come if possible issues arrose. Totaling is the easiest way for insurance to rid any liability to it. Also if she kept it (buy back) they would only allow liability coverage on it and no longer full.

Go for the Lumina, great cars. Very safe. I had a 99 I inherited from my uncle. Loved that car. Also, the Impala in front of it looks God. Nasty rust, though.

So I'm guessing that being a flood car or having a "flood title" automatically voids the factory warranty, even if there is no critical damage? Doesn't seem to me that it would be all that expensive or involved to dry it out and replace the windshield...
My grandpa had a 96 Chevy lumina, it was a great car, after my grandpa had the engine rebuilt at 12,000 miles. Then someone rear ended it on my 18th birthday on the way back from high school. It was great and looked just as nice as this one, however, the frames on these rust out pretty bad.
Buy the Expedition and put a phaser lockout kit on it. I think they're like $750 with flash programmer. That could be good content and maybe help someone fix theirs. Gotta get it cheap though.
If the New Honda Truck would have been cleaned good. Probably wouldn't have known to been a flood vehicle. I would still take a chance on it. The flood didn't damage anything. Buy it.
should’ve checked the power seats on that ridge line if it was mine first thing i’d do is take those seats out and clean the connectors with contact cleaner

I would not pass that lumina up. All you need to do is go over some railroad tracks fast and it will split into two cars. And it has a built in milkshake maker!
That expedition seems like it could be saved, ofcourse you have a few others on your plate but since you know the common issues with the 3vs , some maintenance and voila , would be a good swap like a 6k rig as is even as a gas guzzler, also thank you for the continued videos and entertainment as always and stay safe 👍
randy you have brougth worst in past and you got good in past as well . you can patch in those rockers with new ones .look at your 55 chevy 4dr sedan now a conv. so or wise you have to get some of those cars and suv. and getting some of those cars and you can buy more again tom.

I would drive that KIA. It would be ideal for the dog, picking up parts, doing a shopping run and being good on fuel, a car you could park up and wouldn't care if it got damaged. Might not win any awards for style but it would be a good work horse and at that price who cares what the badge says.
since its introduction, the ridgeline has been a unibody vehicle. The bed is in no way "removable" The separation of the exterior body panel between cab and box is to facilitate the stamping process.
at 12:05 dont buy that Lumina they r known for the engine cradle to rust out an if it has that much rust on the rockers I am for sure that the engine cradle is rusted out to no good my friend on to the next one lol

I guess it comes like that factory in all trim levels with the new 9 speed trans

At least it did not get to the seat cushions and dash. Remove the seats and check the carpet and floor for water. Check the transmission for water?

I'd still pull the seats and carpet in the Ridgeline to check for mold and rust. Clean the carpet and give it a few hours with the ozone generator.
I like the new format Randy. I also would find it entertaining to see you drive that expedition 3v down to AAR headquarters and try to fix it up.

Those 3100 V6 GM are famous for blowing head gaskets. Never will buy another 3100. My 2000 Impala blew both sides head gasket for nothing

Those were my thoughts, too. I was actually leaning towards theft recovery but that turned out not to be the damage.
I have a 06 3 valve 5.4 triton expedition with 350 thousand miles zero problems. I would buy that one you looked at.
