Only last week i was going to purchase a wireless stat & the plum shop tried to sell me a Salus for around £65. I decided to go away & research it... I'm glad i did. I think i will stick with my £15.00 Honeywell room stat & just turn it on when i get home, only takes 15 mins to warm my house up once I'm home.
Thanks Dan - an interesting video. Nice dog too! Pity Nest is leaving the U.K. Nest has lots of nice features - app, Opentherm, no hub required and excellent display and easy control. The Salus looks similar but no Opentherm, which seems odd, as they have a wired, non-Internet version which does support it. Tado, which I have, has Opentherm, geofencing, weather comp, etc., but it does require a hub (possibly to make support of multiple devices, such as their smart radiator valves, simple); however the room stat has a very basic interface with few options and not much info displayed. If you fancy individual controls in each room then Tado seems the best choice at present, as I think the Opentherm support gives it an edge, but that’s just my opinion of course!
