Loving the channel. Always wanted to plumb and gas heating. I got divorced in 1988. I thought change career and went off to a plumbing apprenticeship. Fell in love again jacked it in as couldnt face3-5 yrs with zero £. Now 66 wished to god I had stuck with it as divorced again in later life. I do my own jobs from channels like yours thanks. I despair at the plastic used in plumbing and even cars. My last Audi had plastic cooling parts😢😢😢
@@volt8684 cheers mate! Shame to read about your story though. However love does things like that to us at times! But at least you’re getting to do bits at home off the back on videos online! Welcome to the channel! And happy new year!
Hi mate, if you’re ever stuck with the optima 50 cable being too long. The 49 and 50 is actually just the same valve, you can use the bridge off the old 49 on to the new 50 and then just remove the cable, it just clips off.
Not a problem mate, it’s got me out of trouble a few times. Also means you have a spare cable and button on the van if you ever end up on the other side of the situation
Good video Dan, I find the boiler repairs very interesting. I did cringe a bit around 0.56, when you put your grips straight onto the s/s drainer...😨 Avoid doing that mate, always cover with a cloth or something. I've seen & heard of many things being replaced due to scratches from tools. Now, that really would be a...Job gone wrong! Not a dig mate, just friendly advice. Looking forward to your vids in 25.
Dan on the duetec is it a standard pump got one to look at hot water is working fine but boiler fires for a few seconds when on heating iam thinking it's the pump I know your a pro on them boilers any help would be much appreciated
Happy New Year, youth! Mono mixers are by far the worst. I despise them. Those twin converter kits also ensure that the spine depth is bang on. PHE. Been taken out before? Some folk never learn... New or reconditioned PHE's are still expensive. Acid wash, + new o rings? Scary! Last one I did, magnetic filter looked like Bob Marley's afro.
You didn't cut down the overflow on that siamp flush valve! You can get shorter cables from siamp I've a van full of the 500mm long ones as I've swapped them for the shorter cable. The overflow on the one you fitted sits above the fillvalve itself . The amount I go to where they've not cut the overflow to the correct height which puts more stress in the fillvalve as the water level is soo much higher . Schoolboy error !!!
Your saying that the hot water rise to 81 degrees? Are you talking about the temperature in the boiler? If so are the thermistors that are reading this temperature, reading it from the heating circuit or the hot pipe leaving the plate?
@@Benji-gq9gx yeh it’s the thermistors reading that temp from the heating circuit, the hot water coming out the boiler should be around 5-10ish degrees below that I believe.
I am so late to the party !!! Kids were having night terrors. But anyway great work on saving the landlord some money on the kitchen tap. Also do you even know where that hair wig has been before you put it on ? Wahahahhaahhahahahahha Thanks for another episode and can’t wait for that give away to come around. Thanks Dan
@ yeah I know buddy. I retired 2 yrs ago after 50 yrs as an industrial pipe fitter so I’ve seen and heard most of the banter. Had a few plumbers working for me over the years and had to bring them into the game gently. lol.
Fact. One fifth of Russian dwellings have no indoor plumbing so if phil and kirstie were pumping a location they would say it has a good nearby stream and comes with his and her chamber pots. 😂
