From my work in a pharmacy (and preparation of a lot of antibiotic syrup) I can give a tip. Mix the powder with an eighth of the amount of liquid in the container. Even a tablespoon or 2 will do. After the powder is well absorbed and is no longer visible - only then add the rest of the liquid. It works, always.

Age 76 with knee pain and degeneration for 20+ of that. Started Orgain collagen from Costco 3 weeks ago. After a couple weeks I bent my knees to the sidewalk and when l got back up I noticed my knees were not screaming at me like they had any other time in the past 20 yrs. I think it was because of the collagen.

I have been putting a scoop of Trader Joe’s chocolate Keto Collagen in my morning coffee every day for at least 8 months. I have absolutely no doubt it is working on my skin and joints. My daughter hadn’t visited in a while, and after I’d been drinking this for 6 months or so, she visited and marveled at my lack of wrinkles. And once again, after decades, we were confused as sisters when we went out together. I’m 69. She’s 43. TJ’s collagen is grass fed bovine and MCT oil derived. It is sweetened with stevia leaf.

I am constantly asked how do I look in my 30's. I get carded for my ID because they don't believe me which I done show them because of privacy issues of course they just have to take my word for it.
Also, what do you use on your neck and declate (chest) ?

5 YEARS using Vital Proteins bovine collagen. It has made a HUGE improvement in skin, hair growth, nails and joint pain (take 5 days a week in protein smoothie). The only side effect I experience is it can be gassy at night. Worth it not to have joint pain & clear skin :)

...I discovered that the Vital Protiens ( like the Blue Packaging she showed)...has Heavy Metals, and I stopped using it.
I bought it on a Recommendation from someone, and I didn't actually realize it had Heavy Metals in it....until I started feeling " aches and pains " that should not have been happening. ( the Heavy Metals statement is actually stated on the. VERY bottom area ,on the back of the Product. ) So that is a NO for me.

As others have mentioned, would love to know how to use collagen to support additional needs, e.g., for cartilage/joint support and bone loss (Fortibone) as someone who is 50 + with Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis. Wondering if it would make sense to alternate types daily or would they be taken on the same day/different times. Realizing , of course, that you are dermatologist and focused on skin health 😊!

There is so much out there… It’s just overwhelming. I do have a question. I switched my collagen and started the Vital Bioactive Collagen Complex about 3 days ago. I don’t even know if it is related but I have noticed my skin in the evenings during my skin routine has become very sensitive. It’s almost like a burning sensation. It doesn’t last long. I haven’t changed anything else in my routine. Is it possible that it could cause a little bit of skin sensitivity?

Thank you Doctor for that valuable info.
I will definitely check out your tips.
I had a split thumbnail which was about 1/8 "" from the side of the nail. The narrow side of the nail detached and began to stick up. I had to tape it back down for about 2 years, however it never re-attached.
Then I visited a bone-broth and gelatin video. A model who commented under this video said she was using copper peptides to keep up her skin's appearance. Then she switched to cow gelatin, and decided that cow gelatin was close or just as good as copper peptide.
This set me off and I decided to try gelatin myself. I began sprinkling unflavored gelatin on my food before cooking. The gelatin melts and disappears, and is tasteless.
After about 4 months, I noticed to my joy that the split and detached portion of the thumb nail was beginning to lie down and re-attach to the bed. That was a year ago, and now the thumb nail is normal.
I found that I could add gelatin to my drinking water by heating the water first and then adding a small amount of gelatin, i.e "protein water". The gelatin remains dissolved during the day so long as the water is not cooled. If it is cooled, then pieces of gelatin appear however that doesn't bother me. I love gelatin now.
Thank you again for your work and information on this channel and things to try.

Thanks much for the useful info, Dr. Locke. I just purchased the no flavor version of the sparkle verisol collagen [5g] directly from the manufacturer and it doesn't clump even when mixed with warm water/in my coffee... I mixed it with my spoon so likely they have changed the consistency so no need to purchase a mixer. Btw, Costco has similar verisol collagen that has received very positive reviews and much cheaper. Perhaps you could review this as well.

Hi! Enjoy your videos. Just a note: In the sense of making things easier-- in reference to the mixing of powders-- it looks as if a small funnel could be handy. Also many mix-and-go bottles have a 2" or so wire-like ball inside that assists with mixing. 😉

That is a really good tip actually well this is probably because I own my own health food store and I used to mix supplements and put them in veggie capsules organic veggie capsules and I still have my little black funnels that I filled them with, it’s nice that everybody is leaving their tips, you’ll get more of the powder if you do this and you’ll know exactly how much you’re really taking thanks again

I took the skin boost for three months after I watched this video, I can't say I saw any difference in my skin or hair, but it relieved the tendon/joint pain (back &knees) that I had been suffering for months before (though not resolved). However, I had to stop using them as soon as my GYN told me my uterine fibroids have grown again faster than expected. Funny I know, I took them for skin and they helped with a second problem and worsened a third one 😅

Are there any peer-reviewed papers (research) showing that collagen is associated with fibroid growth?

    • @azamlaleh
      @azamlaleh 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@delaneyondreamsactually, I was curious myself, so I looked into literature. I found a few papers suggesting collagen's effect on fibroids/uterine polyps in animals (mostly dogs). I also found one of two preclinical papers (lab studies, not in population) suggesting a possible causal relationship between high collagen concentration and (human) fibroid growth. I assume that collagen supplements are still new to the pharma world it'll take a few years for researchers to come up with a sufficient number of women who use them and who have a propensity (e.g., genes) to develop fibroids!

Hi, I just subscribed to your channel. The information you are providing is useful and saves everyone money and time eliminating research on products. 🔷I have a question about bovine ingredients. You mentioned that bovine ingredients should be grass fed. My question is shouldn't bovine grass fed ingredients also be grass finished and are there any collagen products that are both grass fed and grass finished? My understanding is that grass fed is only the best product when it is also grass finished.
