I have to say that you and Carlos have done an amazing job raising Skye. She is such a well mannered, kind, graceful young lady. She appear to be the best of both you and Carlos. I saw an episode where she had models of various races on the wall and thought back then that she was an exceptional person to see beauty in all people. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful addition to humankind.

I can't find the way to make a comment to Niki from my phone. I want to tell her I had an ant problem the last four years but not this year. They only came into the kitchen for around 2 or 3 weeks. I planted mint on both sides of our back door to the kitchen outside and that is the only change there has been.

Try diatomaceous earth..I tapped the powder around the baseboards of my apartment to get rid of carpet beetles and it worked like a charm.

Carlo's mother looks very healthy in this video! I imagine her sons and grandchildren have been taking great care of her. A 6.5 hour drive to and from the homes every two weeks sounds a bit tiring. But many people drive hundreds of miles per day every weekday. So, it can be done and will be so good for your souls, until you decide it no longer serves you. That is the beauty of making plans, they can be changed.

We do borax with sugar and a small amount of water to make a paste. 1 part borax to 4 parts sugar. Put it in a glass salt 🧂 and pepper bottle, lay it side ways and wait. They attack it, some will die in the bottle but those that get out take it to the queen and she’ll die which will stop them from coming back. You may need to move it around if any pop up close by. Hope that helps.
I use borax, sugar and water, mix together, soak cotton balls in it, put the cotton balls around where the ants are entering. Works every time and environmentally friendly.
We live in Virginia...olenty of everything in the summ...ill definitely have to give it a go!

Hi Nikki, the above advice is good. The issue is you have to kill the nest. Find the nest and you will be able to eradicate them. Pouring boiling hot water down the nest is another trick.

Terro ant bait. They will swarm to the liquid bait at first, but they will carry back to the nest, killing them. We've had sweet ants in our house for years, and this works every single time. Love your videos!
Yes! Terro actually works! We’re trying it this any season and it’s already got rid of one nest. I can’t believe we’ve finally found something that works 👍🏼
Terro Ant Bait has worked for us so well. Highly recommend. Amazon carries, if you don’t have access to a hardware store close by.

Terro Ant Bait sometimes does not work because they are getting food from another source. Cut off that source and then it should work.

Penny, my Jack Russell Bobbi’s mother liked climbing trees. She was a tiny little thing. She used to scare me when she climbed the tree outside where I worked, while she was very pregnant with Bobbi and his siblings! Bobbi is the spitting image of his mother. Lemon and white. He’s 13 years old now. He doesn’t climb trees. Thankfully. Time flies doesn’t it? ❤

A very appetizing lunch at the lemon farm, a good place to visit. Living in two different locations can always give you opportunities to visit different places in the area.
How lovely to see the gorgeous warm sunshine, while we have, more rain, and cool temps in Dorset. Nicki I used vinigar with the ants, they don't like the smell. Good idea to not be away for so long, there will be less to do when you go back. Great to see Carlo & Sky out together enjoying the water, and to see Carl's dear Mum. 😍☀️👍XX
Have you tried Borax to get rid of the ants? They are attracted to moisture. Have you checked to see if you have water entering the house in the corner? Good luck.
Yes. My gram swore by this. But she mixed it w sugar and made a paste. Put in tops of jars or bottle caps and placed around

Nicky try Borax. I had an ant problem a while ago and my son located the nest outside and treated that and never had them again. Maybe get Carlo on the hunt for the nest and treat the source. Love the dress too and you can never be overdressed as long as you feel comfortable. Lovely to see Carlo spending some quality time with Skye and his Mum too and what could be better than breakfast with his lovely mum and kayaking with his pretty daughter. Sad you lost some plants at your Tuscany home but you get that you will soon replant new ones. As for the lawn if I was was you I would invest on a ride on mower it will be easier and safe a tone of time for you both.Lovely video as always thank you both❤️

In the US, I use Terro ant bait and it works a charm.
That was the first one to pop up when I googled it. I’m in PA so have used traps on occasion 🐜

I have a push mower that I use up close to keep the grass and weeds down around my house and my porches, but 4 years ago after saving up my money, and sold my riding mower I was able to buy a pretty big tractor, but a really super cool, classic old Japanese tractor, its a 1979 Hinomoto with a canape and it's diesel with enough power to do a great job pulling a shredder with a 4ft deck on my 6 acre farm, the shredder I bought brand new. The pair do a really great job! I don't know how I kept this place looking as good as I did good during all the months my pastures stay green and growing with just my small mowers. Congrats on buying your riding lawn mower/tractor life out there just got a little bit easier for y'all! Ciao

Carlo, Europe has so much visible history, buildings, castles, ruins, and I too wonder and try to imagine how life was then. When I walk across a 600 year old bridge, I think of the generations of families that may have crossed it, did they also marvel at its beauty, did any of my ancestors cross it…Indie is a talented dog. Amazing how well she can make it back down the trees she climbs. Part cat for sure!

I am planning a 2.5 week trip with my daughters to Italy (renting a car-which I may regret) in January and your blogs make me want to move there so badly! Thank you for the amazing content!

It is lovely that you have the option of both worlds to enjoy. Skye is lovely. We have not seen Tomaso for a while :). How is he? Nicki, your dress was lovely and just perfect for a summer day. Another reason to do the journey more often is that you can maintain it easier each time and will not look abandoned while you are away. 😊

Hii Nicki, I use cinnamon to deter ants. It works well, and smells good too. You can also sprinkle it in the garden if you have a problem with ants. Love your vlog 🎉
Hello, I too am divided between two homes - our condo by San Diego bay and a very big house in a 5 acre property on the mountains above Palm Springs. They are less than two hours apart from one another but each time I leave one or the other I have a feeling of loss. I've made friends in both places and consider San Diego the official home, mostly because I have two sons and grandchildren living there. I'm now visiting my country of origin, Brazil , and am planning to go to Italy with my husband in October. A visit to Positano and Tuscany will happen, mainly because I'm such an avid follower of your channel and love you, guys! I've already read and loved your book, Nicky! Took it with me on a trip to Thailand early this year. Can't wait for your second. Take care of yourselves, say hello to Skye, Elizabeth and all the nice people in your life.
