  • Made the switch from air-cooled back to water!! Follow along on my journey as I sell my air-cooled Porsche 911 in order to purchase a new water-cooled 911 for my take on a performance build. The second episode of my series explores wheel options for the 991 and how I settled on an incredible forged option for a fraction of the price!
Made this video with my new Sony A6400 mirrorless and Apple Final Cut Pro. I did a ton of research for a camera upgrade once I decided that my GoPro Hero 7 wasn't right for non-action type filming (eg. vlogging, cinematic, travel) so I picked this up. I could NOT be happier with it. Link to the camera is below:

Another solid video. I’m with you...21” wheel is tough to wrap your mind around.

nineelevensouth this car will be sick when you’re done. I am still sad the 993 is gone though. You know me, I’m an air cooled guy at my core.
I’m already contemplating selling the 997.1 Turbo I bought in June 😂

@@Rennthusiast Yea. Def bittersweet to part with the 993 but I am VERY excited to be taking on this build. Thanks for following along and stay tuned for more!

Great vid. Thanks for information. Did you ever list exactly what size wheels and offset you ordered? Looks great!

Love your new wheels. I'm going to get some in satin titanium. Quick question: did you install spacers? Great channel!

I like those but I would’ve went with the BBS FI-R

Those are def awesome wheels. About 3x the price though. As I mention in my videos, I do these builds to a budget that hopefully achieves maximum look/performance for what I have to work with. Because of that, the Titan 7s were a good option for me.

    Hi
Can you share the link to the Porsche crests that will fit please.
That is the only part holding me back.

I got them on eBay. Don’t have the exact seller but they are 2” tall.

Was there a video introducing your 991, as in spec/features??

There is a video introducing the build series and I discuss some of the overview of the platform and why I chose it there. It's episode 1.

Titan-7 wheels are great budget friendly fully forged wheels. I almost pulled the trigger on a set of Titan-7 T-S7 in Iridium Silver for my 997.1 C2. But I came across a small Canadian Company call Augment Wheel Company. They do fully custom designed wheels in forged aluminum or forged magnesium. You mentioned that you like that OEM plus look and they actually specialize in Porsche inspired designs for their wheels. www.augmentwheels.com/pages/porsche-inspired. I have heard many good things about them on Rennlist.
The forged magnesium part is what excites me the most. As you may know, modern F1 cars all run forged magnesium wheels as they are even lighter than aluminum. I was quoted $5800 for a set of forged mag wheels in any design I want shipped to the US. And the estimated weight of a 19x11.5 is around 17lbs. For reference, the 19x11.5 Carrera Sport wheels I have on the car weigh around 29.125lbs.
I know you've already settled on the Titan-7 T-S5 wheels. But I might worth a look for future upgrades.

Wow. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. This dialog and information sharing is exactly why I do this channel so appreciate you taking the time to engage. That is a killer price for forged magnesium!

Called to see if they could offer centerlock fitment for GTS :-(

    • @nineelevensouth
      @nineelevensouth  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Don’t think they do, but limited options is how they seem to have successfully kept the pricing so reasonable....double edged sword

Ran into this issue with my gts when shopping. Found had to go with a rim manufacturing which can option it for us. I liked Rotiform designs. FUC nice retro look
